Just added a new option to the SSD, Q, BL, and BTL lineup with colored logos for the dustcaps. Currently we have white, silver, blue, ice blue, red, yellow, green, and burgundy. We will be adding brushed aluminum and carbon fiber next week to the color list. Ill get the web designer to forward the color chart he is doing for the tech section and post it here as well. Just another way to add a your custom touch to the Fi lineup. Some of the colors (no white or silver as well... you should know what white and silver look like ) We will be adding "carbon fiber" and brushed aluminum shortly as well. Thanks, Scott

How long will it take to get my sub? For all Fi subs it is a 3-7 business day lead time. As all drivers are custom made when the order is placed (started the next business day if the order is placed after 12pm). Due to the ever increasing number of daily orders, we have had to change from our initial manufacturing flow process to one that is slightly more flexible and should be stable for the long term regardless of the number of orders received daily. Once we have received payment (and it has cleared) and the building process begins you will be emailed a tracking number via UPS (Quantum View). It Will say something to the extent of "Billing information received". This…

Okay so I'm pretty new to Fi, but maybe this can be stickied. I figure if everyone posts when there order ships out and what order number they had, the rest of us can get an idea of the amount of time we still have to wait. I may not tell us how many days but can tell us if it'll be a month or two. Just an idea here, so if you support it, post a reply with your info. So here's what I know so far: Order #1161 (night hawk) shipped out by Feb 28 according to his post I'm order #1193 still awaiting fulfillment. Placed the order Feb 16

Keeping true to form at Fi we have an industrial application that uses these 4.500" NdFeB "pads" and felt that the trickle down to car audio might be in order for them. The first iteration uses 3 of them and simply has more Gauss than the 3" pole can handle. Coil has a very healthy inductance/heat ring with external fins for cooling and keeps the heat out of the magnets (which seems to be a problem with some other car audio designs). In playing with this proto it is definitely geared towards SPL, given the motor force. Let us know what you think. Im hoping its not too out of the ordinary to be marketable... as it truly performs. Thanks, Scott

OK, as many of you know the forum crashed during an update and we lost the past 6 months worth of posts and info. This forum is such a valuable tool for customers, new and old, to post questions, reviews, and use as a database to search from. So... I want things built back up and fast. I am hammering out all the details of what this little contest will be and how exactly all the free stuff will be handed out... shirts/stickers. But it looks like it will boil down to this: 1. For those with Fi products: A. Start a detailed topic with description of your system using Fi subs... pics (are a must even if they are off a bad camera phone), enclosure design, amps(s) use…

Alright I just thought of a quick question. How is the BTL 18" response time? Is it so bad that all I could listen to is rap / bass cds? I know that 10" will have a better response time than 18" but by how much? I enjoy listening to bass heavy songs but not all the time. Same with rap, I enjoy listening to it but not all the time. I enjoy some d n b, some metal, some punk, some speed / grindcore and some other generas.

Along the lines of the BL promo we finished building up the parts we had for the X series and will be offering them in pairs until they are gone (as a thanks to those that have helped us turn 1 year old). (2) 10" X series subs $150 shipped (2)12" X series subs $160 shipped We can offer deeper discounts for 5 or more subs as well. We built up about 200 12s and 150 10s from old motor stock (when we discontinued them at the beginning of the year) and will be blwing them out to make room for more current line products. To place an order, send an email to [email protected] for Credit/debit card transactions with your name, zipcode, phone number, as well as what you want t…

I have read here that there is a delay on the BL models due to lack of steel. I just ordered a Q12 and was wondering if it would be delayed also. And is the Wednesday night chat still going on? Thanks for all your help.

This is the standard replacement for the Gen1 and Gen2 BTLs. It has similar power handling and options. The heatsink/inductance ring which was an option on the Gen2 is now integral to the design. We spent quite a bit of time testing the sinking and cooling to ensure that the Neo magnets used would not suffer degradation due to heatsoak (a problem which plagues other designs). Form followed function with the motor and is why these new versions are a fairly radical departure from the last designs. Weight loss is significant compared to the 11.25" diameter magnets used in the Gen2 motors. More info to come both on the site and here. We are trying to get pics for the N…

I'm on the way home from CES so I figured I would post some pics of some cool stuff around the shop. I talked Scott into letting me take some pictures of the new 22" basket as well as new proprietary speaker measurement system utilizing a laser and some other cool stuff hanging out at the shop. Here's the measurement system: It is attached to a 400lb 4" thick solid piece of solid granite.

Ok, so iv decided with my price budget that it would be best to get one 18" Fi BTL. The only problem with that is I have a 2004 Impala, and the recommended box cutout is a little too big. It says the height should be 22.5" but i only have room for around 19" max. Would those couple of inches really be that big of a deal? or do you have other suggestions on how i should build my box? I have plenty of room for Width and Depth, its only the height that seems to be an issue.

Hey guys, Just wanted to say thank you before I start all this out. I have been looking for a good subwoofer now for a few weeks and came to Fi's website and started looking at posts / subs. These seem to be one of the top subs out there for the price. Anyway, just a quick reason for why I am here. My sister died in a car accident about two and a half weeks ago (May 15th) and in her name I would like to build a competition / everyday car. Now I am not saying this for pity or anything like it. I am just trying to start off the reason why I am here. She loved car audio, I was not into it that much. But I would like to get into it. Simply put, I know almost nothing about su…

I ordered my ssd 18 on the 18th of march. Revieved it today. april 18th. And when I opened my box the sub was sitting sideways. I have read forums on here about peoples subs arriving messed up and fi not fixing it so I decided to take pictures for proof. Will fi fix this or am I just screwed? I have a feeling its revenge for me complaining about build time. I have pictures on my computer, I just don't know how to put them on here, could anyone help me?
