Well my problem is that i have never used a FI BTL before and not that i am new to the stereo wrold i have had my fair share of systems but my question is i just ordered 2 fully loaded dual 2ohm 18" FI BTL's and the amp i was going to use was a MTX 92001 mono amp..Which is rated at 3000rms @ 1ohm when i spoke with MTX techs they said that it would do closer to 4000rms @ 1ohm..But this monster draws ALOT of power and was wondering if i went down to 2 2000rms mono blocks would be a lil better....I have a 99 yukon my box is being built to 5.5 ea side being tuned…

Alright, so my buddy has two Kicker CVRs in a 4.5cubic foot ported enclosure tuned to 38hz (a little high, yeah, but it still sounds alright), getting 500watts RMS each. Would upgrading to a Fi woofer increase SPL and/or SQ in a noticeable manner, considering they will still be getting 500watts each, 1000watts total, and would be in the same enclosure as the CVRs are now (at least temporarily)? If so, what would be the best sub? In not a noob so no need to baby me, but im not an expert either so go easy xP

Im asking this for a friend of mine. A local guy has a 12" Fi Q subwoofer for sale. basically brand new $200.. Im trying to talk a friend of mine into it. He has heard a JLW7 and he was impressed.. how does this sub rate compaired to a w7.. i know as far as price the Q is a hell of a lot cheaper. Just would like some info I can give to my friend in terms of if he should buy this subwoofer. I know there is a ton of different factors and I know you guys are gonna bring alot of those up which is perfectly fine. The vehicle is a 2004? Grand Prix, so its going in a truck, his current set up is one of my old setup's which is 2 Kicker cvr 12's in a ported box I had made for them…

Alright, I'm going to try to be specific in this thread. I know how people hate non specific questions on what subs to get, so I'll try to give a good explanation. My current set-up is 2 Fi Q 12's in sealed boxes, 1.3 cu ft. each. Running them off of 1 Kicker zx1500. Got the big 3 upgrade, HO alternator, batcap. I've had experience with ID Max 12, JL W7 12, Fi Q 15's. I'm looking to upgrade. Right now I like the sound of the Q 12's, but I want more oomph, if I can say such a thing. When I went to the Q 15's, the output was somewhat better, but I didn't like the lack of clarity I suffered. Would this mean that Fi BL's and BTL's aren't for me? Also, I've had almos…

I know I may be committing a mortal sin but....I have a pair of ICONS in my possession and I know that if I put in my car I will smoke them (because I have no self control) I looked on the FI site and the recone section has no pics and all of those model numbers mean nothing to me. Could I get these subs built to handle 1600 a peice / has anyone else done anything like this with other brands?

I bought 2 pairs of Q15's. The 2nd pair was bought a few months after the 1st. I never notice before tonight, but looking at the back of the cones, the paper (or what ever the cone material is made of) on the new cones is more pressed and smoother, then the older pair. The older pair is very pulp like and seems thicker. Does this have any effect on the output or sound of the subs?

Ok, i tried searching around and couldnt find a post like this that helped me too well.. let me start by giving you guys the info you may want to know. Im doing this system from the ground up. Got my 1/0 knukonceptz wire in, got the 220 amp alt about to arrive soon. Still kind of bothered by the amp i will be running, there is a SAZ1500D very close to me used for about $270 .. hard to beat that i guess :-/ And finally the sub.. For the past month ive been trying to figure this out i have pretty much figured on a 15" BTL. well like most of us i did a test run on fi's checkout system LOL.. did all but press the button and i realized there isnt a huge price difference in the…

I have two FI 15 BTL's installed (wired at 1 ohm) and am running a Hifonic BXI 26100 for each sub. The box is a tad smaller the 4.4 ft3 per sub. How much more power do I dare run through the FI's?? Thanks, JR

Ok I am looking for a sub thats going to get loud and somethng you can feel. I was going to get a 12" BL but i dont really want to worry about upgrading battery/alt yet. So im thinking of the FI SSD 12" or the AA Chaos 12". I'd be running it off the AQ1200d at 2 ohms which will give it about 870rms. I have stock electrical now but I'm willing to do the big 3 upgrade(if i need to ?), and then later in the year i'll get a bigger alt/battery. Thanks Guys.
