I'm stuck and need some help. Both of these setups will be used for music but i know both will be excessive for music. I'm looking for info regarding the best choice for competition usage. Here are the 2 options i have- 4 15" SSDs in 12.0 cuft NET with Flatwound ONLY. or 2 18" BTLs with P Chamfer, HiXmcoil, Inner Heat Sink in 12.0 cuft NET. Both setups are gonna be ran off of 2 3500Ds= 7,000w. I know the SSDs may want the BP power with that much for daily but i wont be running it at that level for music, just for burps or short 30sec music runs in comp only. I believe the options i chose for the BTLs are correct for the music\comp combo. The main thing i'm confused abo…

Ok guys, I am getting the credit card out this week and have about 5 cu ft of space in my trunk to mess with. I have decided on 2 Fi Bl12's or the Q series. I will be powering them with the sundown Saz-3000D amp. I am a musician and this will be what I listen to music on, mostly rock, but I love bass, so I do throw in the occasional rap disc. It needs to be quite loud, as it is a convertible. It has to be musical and I notice the description of the Bl series doesn't sound very musical. 5 cu ft, 3000 watts, trunk of a convertible, let me hear it! Remember , this will be on for hours at a time!!

Hey all, Well today on my way driving home from a car meet after about 10 mins blasting my system (full gain using a hifonics 1606d) and my sub stops playing, thinking maybe a wire got loose I go to McDonalds and open my trunk and it was smoking . This is my favorite Fi sub, I have heard in person the BL, BTL, and my Q and Q is by far my personal favorite. It hit the lows so good. Well anyway any suggestions on why it blew or if it can be fixed? If it can''t be fixed will getting another one but this time getting the BP Option prevent it from blowing? -Thanks

I have a Fi Q 15" subwoofer in a 4 cu. foot ported box tuned at 30 Hz. I was wondering what range of notes it should be able to hit accurately and safely so i can tune it on my amp? The amp im running is a Hifonics 1606D turned down to around 1000 watts

Well I have an AQ 1200d, I plan on running at .5ohm but with impedance rise I should be right at if not a little bit above 1ohm. I am wanting a sub that will just get nasty loud, and move some air. Its going in a 2-3^ft3 with 80sq inch of slot port. I am either going with a fully loaded SSD or stock BL....

Just got 2 10" SSD subs and I have a Hi Fonics Bxi1610D. I had both in my single cab Dodge truck, a friend of mine said that I could take one out and build a ported box for one and make it sound better that the 2 sealed. My question is, is that true and could I still use the same amp with only 1 sub? It would have to be either 1600 watts @ 1 ohm or 550 watts @ 4 ohms I believe since the sub is a dual 2. Thanks for the help in advance

well as the title states, i want to know if it will be enough power to run the 15" BTL untill i get more money for a bigger amp. basically will it hurt the BTL to be underpowered? it will be in a ported box tuned to 32-35 hz not sure yet. probly around 4.5 cu ft and yes the rockford does that much power. its on my spec sheet i got with it. 1870 at 1 ohm, with a THD of .22% at rated power (im guessing that means at 1500 rms) also will it be a big upgrade in spl from a 12" BL, on the same amp? (not running at full power, probly around 1200 right now)

The recone shop on the Fi website has various recones. When you purchase one, do you send in your sub and Fi fixes it or does Fi simply send you the recone for you to do it yourself?

I currently have 1 12" Type R hooked up to a pdx 1.1000 in a 1ft2 sealed box. I of course turn down the amp a little. This system is for my boat and do to space limitations the speaker box must go in the engine compartment. When this setup is in my 96 accord the sub is loud. Unfortunatly the engine compartment has sound deadoning material and reduces the volume of the subthat I hear on the boat. So I am looking to get more volume. I am looking at the FIQ 12 to swap out the Type R. I believe the PDX 1.1000 would be a great match and I plan oin using the4. Would the Q give me a big boost in volume? Would I still get the bumpage that my R gives me?

I currently have a 10" W7 being pushed by a 1000w alpine mono sub amp. I've been wanting to try out FI for the longest time after hearing so many good things about them. I would've bought one already if the shipping costs to Hawaii weren't so high. I haven't gotten to hear one in person. How do you guys think it would sound compared to my W7? my amp pushes 1000w @ 2ohm mono and my sub is in a fiberglass box. It sounds great but I want more. I was either going to buy another w7 and another amp, or buy a Q10 and hope it'll pound more.

So i'm going to have someone build me a custom box for my single cab truck. I have a MTX RFL600D that pushes 600 Watts Rms @ 2 Ohms. I was wondering what would be better a RE SE 10" or FI SSD 10"? What should I port it to for rap and hiphop?

I'm planning on purchasing 2 12" SSD's and power them with my MMats 1400.1. Question, the subs come dual 2 ohm. With two of them wouldn't that make the amp run at .5 ohm? This wouldn't work right?

Hi everyone, So i just bought a FI BTL 12 and I built a custom box for it tuned at around 32 hertz. Anyway I hooked it up to a Quantum Audio QCA4000D amp to test it before i actually bought the amp from the dealer. The sub is the 2ohm version and so i have it wired at 1ohm. Alrite so the sub was definitely not sounding the way I was expecting it to. It felt like it wasnt getting enough power, but when we hooked up 2 l7's to it they were beatin hard. I dont know if its just me but I dont think a kicker l7 should pound harder than the btl. Any thoughts would help. Thanks.

Sorry im somewhat new. done quite a few low end systems, but not familiar once it gets into amps and stuff. so any help would be nice. I put in my order for a 12" SSD with Copper. i have a box that I built for the sub at 1.1 sealed. none of thats the problem. my question/problem is in the amp. I recently bought a Kenwood 9104D, and wanted to continue using it but not sure if its overkill. Was thinking of running my 12 at 1 or 2 ohms as my amp is 1 ohm. but spec wise it runs higher RMS. it runs 900W RMS. im pretty sure, just becuase an amp "says" it puts out a certain amount it doesnt put that out all the time. so technically it shouldnt matter? but im not sure, thats what…
