So second gear went out on my car yesterday, I had to drive about 30 miles up to the hood to the tranny shop and wait for a ride. Since the tranny shop was in the hood, I decided it would be a good idea to take the system out of the car; getting jacked would suck. I arrive back home later and see a skateboard resting on my subwoofer box. As I remove the skateboard I notice the T shaped crack right on the logo. I don't know if I did it, I don't know if the younger skateboarder in my family did it, but its damaged. I think I need one of those infamous "recones," but I'm not entirely sure. Anyone have any input on this? Stay tuned for the image below.

What other lines of woofers compare with the Fi Q series. For excellent sound quality, yet affordable price, and nothing mainstream that all you pay for is the name. Im curious of anyones thoughts because I am || that close to buying a 15" Q. But I want to make sure that I dont have any regrets after buying it. Any input is appreciated.

Hello. I'm an enthusiast-- obviously. But I wouldn't call myself "diehard." Though I do spend a lot of time and money on this "hobby of mine". Worth it... Anyway, I have a Ford Mustang '98 Coupe [for referance] As of now, I have crappy mid-range, and 2x 10" JBL GTO1002D [2oDVC @ 250-RMS] in a sealed box. I like it... but, I'm thinking about upgrading to the Fi Q. I was wondering if one 10" would be enough? I was thinking either 10" or 12". Is there a real audible difference between the two? I like the look of the 12", and it's only $10 dollars more. But space is a premium in the Mustang-- and a box big enough to fit in is even harder. Also, I was thinking about what to po…

Hello i currently have a 18" bl in a ~7ft^3 box tuned to 32hz powered by a jl 1000/1. Now it's loud but i'm still looking for more. I'm trying to stick to using an 18" or a pair because i was very impressed. My question is would you guys recommend getting a pair of q's with ~2500rms or a fully loaded btl with ~2500rms. Or my other alternative is selling my amp and getting ~2000rms for the bl and ill set the gains where it'll see around 1500. \ What do you guys recommend? thanks

I have a blown RE SX12 and I'm wondering if it's possible to recone with FI parts? If it is possible, how much would a recone kit cost? I'm looking for a 12" D2 shipped to 91606. Thanks in advance. Oh, and are shims and glue included?

Hi, First post here.. Looking for some help on purchasing.. I've decided on the BTL series, 18s.. I'm slightly limited on cubic space, unless I go hog wild (which is still possible) and I figure with the minimums for both being 5 cubic feet that I might as well go for the higher end (Unless the new BTLs have a different minimum, then I may have to rethink this.). I do think I am leaning more toward a daily driver, as the vehicle IS my daily driver. The first question is with regards to ohms. I've never done a 1 amp to 1 speaker configuration so I'm confused. The amp is an Audiobahn A2200HCX amp. I will be using one to power each speaker. The amp is listed as being 1…

Are the specs for the BTL sub going to be different or still the same. I wanna make a box soon and wanting to get the right calculations. If they are the same, could someone list the specs for the 15''. Seems they haven't put up anything for the BTL yet. Thanks, -Curt

Scott I have seen you say that some of the HC motors can use a Q coil. How do I tell which series I have? Mine doesnt have the cover for the bottem plate and neither top or bottem plates are tapered. Would I gain anything by using a Q coil? Hey all. Newbie here. I come from CarAudioForum. I didnt seem to get much help there from the people so I thought I would drop a line here. This place seems like a great place to ask questions and help out. My Current setup; 2000 Accord Coupe Optima Red Top Tsunami Amp 0/1 Wiring 2.4F Cap 2Ga amp power wire (Just purchased 100sqft of fatmat, will be installed in a week or so) And thats about it. I just sold my 2 12w6v2s and my 1000/1, I was getting bored. Not enough bass for me. I was hitting 147dB with a dB meter I had purchased from a guy who use to own a car audio shop. Snagged it for $150 instead of buying TL for $600. But anyways, I was planning on getting 1 15" Fi …

OK, so first off I realize this a very redundant post, as I myself, even new to this forum have read several of these, and I apologize. So I currently have a 10" Polk Signature Reference series sub in a small (around 1-1.1 cubic feet, pre-fab) sealed enclosure with about 500 watts running to it from a Fosgate amp. So I've read numerous reviews on the Fi subs on here, in particular the SSD and the Q series. I am leaning towards an SSD series in a 12". Coming from the setup I have I want to know what kind of gains I will receive in terms of output stepping up to a SSD 12", or any 12" for that matter. I am still wanting to go with a small sealed enclosure, and from what…

So i guess i don't have the money to go with my original plan and get 2 12s each with a SAZ-3000 on them so i have a new plan. I wanna compete in SPL and occasionally be able to listen to music and i drive a 03 Tiburon GT. How would 1 18" BTL (fully loaded) with one SAZ-3000 do? (i do have the electrical system to run it) Also if i do this what should my box be? Thanks

To be able to dominate the lows, what should I tune my box to. I know Fi recommends 33hz. But I'm not familiar with what frequency creates what sound. If i do tune the box to lets say 30hz. Will I only get good output from the lows or would the mid-lows be hit pretty good too. I dont give a s... about the highs.

Do you think it is possible to fit a ported 10 inch bl in a regular cab ford ranger? I currently have two 12inch kappa perfects sealed and the box is a little too small for the 12's and i am looking to make a switch to a one sub setup in a smaller box. Wondering if the bl would be a possible option or not?

  25. Started by SKiN,

I bought the sub back in early December, just got it installed tonight. its in a 2.4cuft box tuned to 32hz, powered by my "1500" watt hifonics amp. knukonceptz 1/0 KLM power wire to the back, also big 3 done with it also. after an hour driving around back country roads there was only 2-3 songs that made my headlights dim. not bad enough to warrant a HO alt, but i do need to get a new battery under the hood, its an older interstate battery, but enough of that... so far i have NOTHING but good things to say about FI!!! thanks to everyone who got this badass sub to me! pics are soon to come
