I have heard read many peoples threads about how much power they give their BTL's and cant help but wonder how much is actually enough (minimum power). I was looking at giving each about 2k watts for daily driving, is this enough? I don't wanna overdo it and burn out the subs cause I listen to my music horribly loud.

What options would I need to best run a 10" SSD off 1100 watts? It would be going into a sealed enclosure probably around .6 cu ft after displacement. How would this compare to an FI Q on the same power in the same enclosure? The mounting depth of the Q might be pushing my limits a little too far, but I think the smaller enclosure requirement might be able to make up for it. I listen to almost entirely hip hop music and I will need it to help fill in a little mid bass since I am only going to be running 5.25 comps up front.

i know what you guys are thinking when you read the title. i am not trying to compare the 2 subs. i am just so frustrated people using dd thinking the fi subs are a poor man's subs. i mean i hear people saying if you don't have to money to buy DD then settle for fi audio. it just frustrates the hell out of me. i have heard DD and many other subs and wasn't impressed enough to switch. i love my btl's and i've had them since august of last year. sorry for this thread but i had to vent my frustrations.

  5. I'm putting a better system in my car (1994 Mazda 626), so far I've got a kicker sx600.2 and a set of Alpine type-x 6.5 comps. I'm looking for a SX1250.1 (birthsheets about 1400Wrms) to match, also have the SXRC. It's definately a daily driver and I want to keep some trunk space so overall box size I don't want to go over about 2.5-3 cu ft. I've got 17" of clearance under the rear deck. Looking for LSQ but more on the side of SQ. I'm really interested in the Q's but not sure if a 15 sealed would fit height-wise. I'd also like to compete with my buddy across the street, he's got a pair of Lightning audio S4.12.vc2's on a planet audio VX1400d. amp Max Power (1 Ohms) : 12…

So If I got a 3000 watt amp stable at 1 ohm and wanted to get two 15 inch Fi's then what model should I get to have the best quality, also I noticed the BL's and the Q's are the same price so would I be better off just getting the BL's and having a little room to work with if I wanted to get a larger amp? Also what options should I choose for these subs, and should I get another battery or just upgrade my alternator. I know a lot of technical things but I have no personal experience so any advice I can get will be appreciated

Well I'm going to be putting together something to go in the back of my Dodge Quad Cab. I've taken out the back seat and I'm gonna put together a sealed setup to the specs of the sub I purchase. Amp: Soundstream PCA2000. From what I've read..the amp will do 2000 X 1 @ 1 ohm. Maybe just a tad more..but I'm not betting on it. I'm more geared towards SQ...so of course I was thinking about the Q(from what I've read). I began to question if my amp would actually be able to feed enough power to the Q's so I've become more interested in the SSD line. I figured I could save a little money, add the cooling option, and KNOW that I'd be feeding them enough at lower gain levels…

Hello, I've been designing a wall for my 95 Chevy Beretta. I came up with a wall that is 6.2 cubes per sub after all displacements. I was wondering if this is too small for a pair of 18" BL's? Also is my port too large? It's 6" wide by 32" high (192sq.in. roughly 30per cubic foot). I am looking to daily drive this thus it's tuned to 32hz. So where do I need to go with this? Run 15's? Smaller Port? Or am I on the right track? I want to move a ton of air. More daily driving/ showing than anything. What do I do?

Hey guys ive been reading up on Fi for a long time and decided to get some subs. I have an 08 Mitsubishi Lancer and was wanting to put some 12" subs in. I was looking towards the 12" Qs or the 12"BLs. Pretty much they will be used as daily subs, I listen to almost every type of music, but mostly RAP, Hip-Hop, and some R&B. I generally was looking towards sound quality, but i also want it to be loud and bass packed so it can be heard. In otherwards i also want a system what will blow people away when listening. Anyways when it comes to money Im pretty much set, but i dont want to have to spend over $2500CDN, or make drastic changes like extra batteries and a huge alter…

i plan on picking up 2 18" BTLs very soon, but they will be for daily driving, in a low tuned box at about 32hz and around 13 cubic ft after sub and port displacement.. i want to have somewhat clean bass and not just total chit.. but some peoples comments on these being only SPL monsters have got me worried I really want to stick with Fi they have impressed me so much from what i have seen and heard and i want to be LOUD and LOW how will the SQ compare to my current set up 2 MTX T9512-44s on 2.4kw rms ? i know it probably wont be as good but thats fine with me i just hope for something decent thanks in advance

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Limited with full stock charging (124 Amp Alternator i believe). I wish i had the dough to upgrade the alt and batt, but i make 6.85 an hour 11 hours a week during the school year. I'd like to think this isn't bad for a 17 year old. We'll start out from the beginning. Three days after I got the car i put in Hifonics 1206D and a Premier 3002SPL. Blew the sub due to rookie mistake usage of the "bass" knob. i then picked up a Kappa 12" and that sounded great at 2 ohms til i blew it, but that sub i got for almost free so it wasn't a big deal. I decided to really save up and do it the right way this time. I got a Premier DEH680 for Christmas from So…

Call me a n00b or whatever it is internet geeks are saying these days, but somebody help me out. I drive a 2000 Land Rover Discovery and I'm looking to get some beat in the trunk. It's a daily driver, so it's not for comps. I'm wondering if 1 SSD15 is a good choice. I'd get two, but, military man+2 kids= small budget for car audio. I can afford 1 SSD15, but is that the best choice? Suggestions? BTW: Don't suggest other brands, I only want Fi. So it's Fi or nothing.
