So Scott told me the dimensions to build this box all thanks to him, 3.5cuft after displacement tuned to 33Hz. On to the pics: Out with the old..... Lets compare box sixes.... Doesnt look like much lets check out the sub size difference.... Ahhhhhh finally wiggled it into the trunk of my car, with a little finesse...hahaha yeah right, 40" wide my ass, I had to struggle to put that box in, but once its in it fit like a glove... OOK First impressions LOUD, oh did I say LOUD??? The bass is let me punch you in the back of your head bass... With that 12" RE SX, I felt like it hit much lower, since the box was tuned to 32Hz, but I think its all in my mind right now. …

Just hooked up my first BTL 18. I'm impressed. I've ran the Solo X for two years and couldn't believe how close to being as loud as it this sub is. BTW it only has half the power the solo had. 2nd BTL will be in Thursday. Then i'll finish the wall. I'll give a full review this weekend. Great job on the sub Fi crew.

no pics for now, i still have to bolt the box down and tie up a few loose ends, but its loud, real loud. im running it in parallel, im not sure of the impendence the amp is seeing, id guess somwhere around .6/.7 the only time my light dimmed where when i was just sitting in idle, so of course because of that everyone thinks i need a capcitor :/ and im going to a comp this saturday.

I am going to push 1 of the 2 w/ a Hifonics XX Zeus, it puts out 1600 @ 1 ohm. I know the SSD is rated at 800, is it underated or should I go w/ the Q. Or could I just upgrade to the flat wound coil on the SSD for better power handling. Any input would help

I recently purchased a Fi Q 10" and am wondering what amount of power I should give it during the break in period and how long of a break in period I should have. I have a MMats DHC 1400.1 amp, but I know that I will not be giving it all of that. I was thinking of leaving it unbridged for the first 2 weeks I have the sub installed and then after that bridging it with the gain roughly at 1/2. Will that be fine or what should I give it? It will be going in the JL Audio Stealth Box for my car, a picture of the box

Well i got my BL 12 Box done today by a guy who did previous work on my car and i gotta say he did a great job... Entire trunk is deadened...lid, walls, floor and tire wells. Nine.1 and Distro blocks are mounted on the rear of the box. Fi Sticker on passenger side. I gotta say this guy made a killer box and it matches my carpet in the trunk almost perfectly(minus the stain). Final specs came out to be 2.2cuft @ 30hz. The sub sounds awesome...very loud, very clear, A LOT of excursion and gets LOW in this box. Ill get a video of it tomorrow because it was a bit to late in the evening here to crank it up around where i live. I cant wait til this driver is fully broken…

Here is my original link with pictures. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7420 After a little more time with them I am still pleased. Build quality is so nice on these. They are nice and broken in now, the suspension feels alot less stiff then when I orignally got them. They are still in the same box, a TTB t-line enclosure. The sound quality of these from this box has been awesome so far, and yes, they do sound better these days after being broken in abit. I am going to build a much larger ported box soon just for comparison. I still have the same Concept CD-2410 amp but plan to upgrade later, I want a RF t3000bd. I tested a Memphis 2000d on …

Check this out, a 12" and a 15" in one!!!! It can handle 50k watts!!! Ok fine its just a recone for my 12" RE SX sub. Thats all!! Well on a serious note For that 15" BL w/flatwind and full cooling.... I need someone to help me design a box. I have 40x17x17 to play with in my trunk. I would like to get it shorter than 17" if possible, and less than 40" wide if possible, even less than 17" deep!!! But that is the measurement is the biggest I can do in my trunk of my Scion tC. (HATCHBACK) I heard that sub facing upward will get louder??? Since its a hatchback? Port facing driver side tail light.....? I want to do a round port, 6" PVC pipe. Ok for the smarty pants!!…

Hi just have a simple question. What would be the ideal tune for someone who has never owned or run a ported box before? I have build and worked on plenty of sealed boxes before, but I wanted some opinions on a good tune for a pair of FI Q 15s. They are going to be in the trunk of a 04 Ford Crown Vic, subs and ports firing toward the taillights. I love my lows very much but I also enjoy the whole bass spectrum period. Right now, my mids and highs are crossed over at 80hz but im planning to upgrade to a set of nice comps( Rainbows or Crystals not sure). Should I set my crossover point lower like to 60hz maybe, and tune low like to 28hz? Like I said, I love my lows and wa…

Well Ive been throwin this idea around in my head that Jonny24 gave me. He said i should to 4 Q 15's walled in my s-10 :0 I just cant stop thinging about how badass that would be. I mean no one has done any thing crazy (that i know of) with Q's yet. espically with over 2. Im really feelin this idea and only wish i could afford it :'( But I was also thinking of poweing them w/ 2 RF T3000's This setup makes my pants tighter. Who else things this would be an amazing setup? Wes

I am looking at getting a 12" Fi Btl, Dual 2 ohm vc sub. I will be using it for street-A as well as daily use. It will be powered by a pair of Saz-1500d's until I get a pair of saz-3000d's. What options should i get? I am thinking p chamfer, x-max and 3rd magnet and daily tolerance. Also, putting this in the trunk of a neon, floating around a couple of ideas for getting it loud. What box size/ port size would you recommend for going loud. I am thinking about sealing the box into the passenger compartment, (as in off from the trunk) to reduce the amount of air it is trying to move, port forward, sub forward. Is this a good idea or should i just stick with sub back port fo…

well im pretty sure i blew my BTL today. i finally hooked up two orion xtr pro 2400's to it. and i think i blew one of the amps too. i hooked up the amps like the book said, set one amp to master and one amp to copy and the master amp would control the other amps gain and xover's. well when i turned it up it didnt sound like it was hitting harder than when i had one amp. in fact it sounded weaker, and kinda sloppy. and the coils on the sub were heating up fast. i could smell glue burning and the dust cap was hot as hell. well i changed the amps to gain and gain, they both have copy, gain, master settings on them, it was hitting alot harder now. so i was playin it for a…

Hi everyone, I wanted to know which sub series would be best for me. Ive read on the ficar audio website all about the different series, and I have my eye on the BL and the Q series. I was thinking about something that sounds good, gets very loud & has good deep bass. I mostly only listen to rap, and want something for daily and not competition. I want to get either a single 12" or a single 15". I have a 1996 honda accord and I have good trunk space I think. As for as an amplifer is concerned Im buying either a Hifonics 1206D or a Hifonics 1606 D amp. So what do you guys think? Also what options would be good? Thanks alot!

I just got my new 15" BL sub with flatwind and full cooling... Question is, is it normal that the sub is that stiff? I mean, its very stuff, stiffer than my current sub (RE SX). Will it soften up when it gets broken in. Second, with that full cooling, there is no hole in the magnet for the cooling of the coil that way right? Cant wait til I get it in the car and feed it 1500watts!!!!!!!! Its gonna be bumpin... Edited with pics: (Camera phone pics...) When it warms up here, since in Baltimore it decided to be 35 degrees with snow on my car. Then I will build my box, most likely tomorrow since I can't wait to do it. Cold or not. I will post pics again of the build …

Well i came home today from lunch to find this... After unpacking it was time for the battle of the 12" Subs! The 1st contender was the 12" Fi BL d2 w/ cooling! VS... The 12" Firehouse w/ the works! After a close battle the Fi came out on top and well the firehouse put up a good fight it just had to be eatin! Ok all jokes aside this BL looks great, very well built and beefy. Box will be made over the weekend and should be up in running in a few days. Prob will end up to be about 2 cuft or so @ 32hz off my Nine.1. Only slight negative thing was the ordering-to-shipping time...took almost 3 weeks to get the sub after the order was placed, but im guessing things got sl…
