You guys can make one of these still, correct? I figured the coil length may be different than the new recones. Just as much $$ as the n2 n3 recones? Or cheaper=)

Fella's, today i decided to put some volume to my FI BL 12's and noticed very quickly that the dust caps got hot. I know it has to be one of three things. Either the amp is giving too much power to the subs, The amp is clipping or the voice coils are wired incorrectly?? I never noticed this until today. Any ideas?

Sooo.. I've have my Xcon for quite some time now and I love it. I'm hoping to save some monies up by summer time to order some SSD's .That's right I want to go dual. . I have had experience with sealed and ported which were great. So here's the question: Which would be louder, 2-12" SSD sealed or 2-10" SSD ported? Power: Crescendo Audio bc3500d @ 2 ohms. Which produces about 1800w on the top end.

I plan on just getting one 12 btl that puts out 2000 rms, but I want to connect two amps. Do I make the sub 1ohm or 2? I have a planet audio 1ohm 950w that puts out 650 rms, so I'm gunna need another amp any suggestions? Also what's a p chamfer, HiXcoil and universal mean? By the way I'm driving an 03 dodge stratus, if I put them in the trunk its gunna rattle don't you think. I was thinking of getting it custom built in the middle of my back seat. Any advise would be great, thank you.

Are the spacers for the single magnet BTL available? I ordered my recone kit but did'nt see a option for the spacers. Reason why I'm asking is I bought a motor and the spacers were damaged during shipment.

Just cruisin' through the Fi website whilst helping another forum member with a topic when I realized that the RMS rating on some of the BL's change as the coils change from D1's to D2's. The 10" shows 1500 RMS for both coils. The 12" shows 1000 RMS for D1 and 1500 RMS for D2 The 15" shows 1000 RMS for D1 and 1500 RMS for D2 The 18" shows 1500 RMS for D1 and 1000 RMS for D1 I am slightly confused by this as I didn't think coil configuration had any impact on thermal or mechanical limits OR how they are reached. And I definitely didn't think that would change as woofer size changes either. Essentially, I would like to know if this is a typo and if it is not, I was hoping s…

Just received my IB318s (thanks!) but have a small question. There appears to be 8 mounting holes around the outside of the drivers but the holes only go through the rubber gasket, not the steel frame. Is the idea to drill through the steel at those 8 positions? I'm mounting them to the outside of a manifold that I have built with the cones firing into the interior of the manifold. My plan was to use t-nuts on the inside of the manifold with bolts holding the driver to the box. Does this sound like a reasonable approach?

So I have ran your havoc and mayhem 18 inch subs.they did everything I want.with respect.but now thinking of down sizing alot to tens.but you only do chaos in ascendant line..but in fi you do bl and Q's which have higher power ratings. I know why mayhems tens you don't build. Why don't you do havoc tens? Wouldn't that fit say between SSD a d bl?

SP4 Heavier SP4 More mounting depth SP4 4" coil vs 3" on N2 SP4 10" spider and higher mechanical linearity than N2 SP4 More long term thermal stability SP4 Sealed capable vs N2 ported only N2 More motor force N2 Inductance ring that balances the inductance swing better SP4 Slightly lower overall inductance than N2 N2 Well... its cool because its Neo N2 It's expensive because its Neo (and constantly increasing in cost) SP4 Slightly higher Xmax (coil limited) SP4 Lower FS for those that think it matters In general we created the N2 as the replacement for the older generation BTLs. We have seen the direction people are going with the BTLs and arranged the N2 specs to be clos…

Hey how are yal, I'm getting 2 ssd 12's with flatwind coils and i have done allot of research on amps and im still stuck. I know the CEA compliant brands and such and how to wire them as i studied electrical engineering. Are certain brands IE sundown, Audioque better for certain subs such as the ssd. i really just need to know best bang for my buck and how many watts, should i just double the rms and how low can i go and still get the needed performance. Second question i am using Microstation to design my box i have kinda a weird situation with my truck i am going to build the box to fit over the back seat in the middle and extend to the floor it will be vented, how …

Alright in about a month i plan on buying new subs, I’m looking to spend around 600$. I was originally wanting to get two 12" SSD's, but now that the SP4 line is out idk. i can get one 12” SP4 for about the same price as two SSD, my question to yall is which is a better buy? What will i be more pleased with? Which one hits harder? Which one sounds better? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I got a pair of the original 15 fi Q (without any options) in 2007. Now I'm planning to use it as my home theater sub. Would it be possible to build a recone (15") that can have a response between 20-100hz and power handling is between 800-1000w. Each sub must have a dual 4 ohm impedence. This sub in mainly for sub duty so I will be looking at strong lows. Other details would be: i. Both sub are placed in a ported 10 cu.ft tuned at 20hz ii. Will be powered by a crown xls2000 PA amp iii. Mostly for home theater (movies) where lots bass as low as 15hz What wold be the cost drop in 2 sets of recones for this thanks

Ok I have last years model FI Q 15, and I have the new model and they both have the same options, P chamber, extra spider. They are in a shared chamber box, 8.2 cubes at 33hz. The new one with the black basket has had 3 weeks playing and its loosened up a little BUT my questions are; 1. Can I have both these subs in a shared chamber or should I do separate chambers? 2. Does those plastic spacers on the top plate of the magnet so space it down really help with cooling? Because they both have amps for them and the amps are the exact same in every way but the new model stays cold and the old model gets warm after a while. 3. A, Why does the newer sub have more excursion at h…
