Inner Heat Sink: Its a machined aluminum ring in the gap that lowers the voicecoils inductance (allowing it to play up higher and have a little better overall transient response). It also reduces the volume inside the magnet gap of the motor increasing air speed with the cooling as well as allowing the coil to kick off heat to a more receptive thermal mass rather than magnets. I'm looking for a daily speaker. Does adding the IHS which according to the definition, allows to play higher have any effect on the lows? Is this a recommended option to get with the following other options, Cooling & HiXmCoil?

I am planning on running (4) 15" Fi Q subs in a ported enclosure ran with a Memphis MCD4KW, all in the back of a Chevy Suburban. I will have a 200 amp alternator and 2-3 extra batteries, any ideas of what my numbers should be, we don't have any comps down here in the Dub K (Wichita, Kansas) so any help would be appreciated

Well I'm going to be putting together something to go in the back of my Dodge Quad Cab. I've taken out the back seat and I'm gonna put together a sealed setup to the specs of the sub I purchase. Amp: Soundstream PCA2000. From what I've read..the amp will do 2000 X 1 @ 1 ohm. Maybe just a tad more..but I'm not betting on it. I'm more geared towards SQ...so of course I was thinking about the Q(from what I've read). I began to question if my amp would actually be able to feed enough power to the Q's so I've become more interested in the SSD line. I figured I could save a little money, add the cooling option, and KNOW that I'd be feeding them enough at lower gain levels…

I need some serious opinion on this not opinions about what brand you prefer but truly which sub is the better overall woofer. I have (2) T2000.1bd RF, RF Line Driver BLD, 2 Kinetic HC 2000 racing series batteries, big 3, high output alternator, Monster Cable 402 series RCAs, Pioneer Priemere 980T head unit. I have never had experience with either brand but from what ive heard the 3500 will walk the BTL (fact or is someone dreaming?)

I am getting (2) 15" Fi BL's and I will be running them off of a kicker zx2500.1 and I am going to get a large ported box but I don't know what size or tuning it will be. I was just wondering if this will get ridicuously loud while still sounding good because I want it loud as hell but also decently clean at the same time. I also was wondering if that amp is a good match for these subs. Thanx

I have two Kicker 12" L7s, I absolutely hate the sound quality they have, but the SPL is OK. I am looking for a SINGLE 18" Sub, what would be the best? I want it to be louder than the kickers, but sound a lot better SQ wise. Would the Q18 be louder than two 12" kicker L7s?

What do you guys think? One Fi/SX 12 hybrid or 2 SSD 12's. The amp is a elemental designs nine.1. Box size would be about 3 cubic feet.

I just picked up a sundown 1500D and now looking for a good sub to mate. Have my eyes on a 15" Q. Do you guys think I need the BP power option? Chances are i will set the gain to about 1200w anyways, b/c, I currently have 4 awg power. If i absolutely need to upgrade to 2 or even 1/0, i will. (I will be running a SAX 100.2 as well). Thanks!

I want a loud daily driver that will pound the lows. I have 1500 watts and about 8 ft^3 to work with.. The BL would be fully loaded, and the SSDs have the copper coil option.. Opinions?

A few weeks ago I put an SSD (copper coil) in the trunk of my wifes BMW. The sub is probably fully broken in, and is signifacantly louder and lower than it was initially, but it's not loud enough. And could be lower! It's seeing approx 1000w in a 2cuft sealed enclosure. I prefer sealed for small size and lowend extension. I have approx 1400w available at 2ohm. Should I give the SSD away and get a Q (or BL), or should I add another SSD? Before I make this decision, I will build another enclosure (ported) before I act, I am just looking for input. Thanks.

Well ive been wanting to go with btl's for along time and finally i got my money together. I have an RF 4000.1bd amp that i will be using for my setup. My question is...would that be to much for one 18btl? Will be going in my daily driver. I was going to get D1's incase i plan on adding a second later(which i probably will) Also if i run just 1 18 for now off that amp...would setting the gains on the amp to bout half or lower be alright? I dont wana throw to much power at it n mess the sub up.

im getting a 15" BTL with cooling, 3rd magnet, hi-xmmax coil in a 4 cubic foot box with a slot port tuned to 32Hz. i have a hifonics BXi2006D monoblock amp that has 2000 rms at 1 ohm. its the new generation thats suppose to have better circuitry and protection as well. i know it says its only 1 ohm stable but it seems like i have seen people running amps like these at .5 or .6 ohms. what do you guys think? please help me out as i want to order this soon as possible. should i get the dual 1 or 2 ohm option? thanks

First off, I could NOT be happier. Alot of bang for the buck, and that's what I needed from this sub. It sounds excelent, especially for being in a box thats 11.6 cubes. I set the amp to send the sub the full 1000 watts when the bass boost is all the way up. When I listen to music, I have the boost all the way down cause its still loud, but sounds perfectly in tune with the mids and highs. Whenever I get bored is when I crank it up, but personally my ears dont like the pressure all too much. This enclosure was intended for music with the tuning at 28-30 hz, and I never planned on competing, although I went to a db drag on the 15th. I entered and qualified with a 138, quit…

Alright in about a month i plan on buying new subs, I’m looking to spend around 600$. I was originally wanting to get two 12" SSD's, but now that the SP4 line is out idk. i can get one 12” SP4 for about the same price as two SSD, my question to yall is which is a better buy? What will i be more pleased with? Which one hits harder? Which one sounds better? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
