Greetings, and thank you in advance for considering my inquiries. : ) After becoming privy to the specs and recommendations for the 15" BLs, Qs, and SSDs, I have hit a wall in my plans for purchase. It appears ported enclosures are exclusively recommended for the BLs and SSDs of this driver size. However, the problem is the recommended tuning of which is higher than my target low frequency response of 20 hertz. My questions are: 1). Are these recommended tuning figures aimed at SPL applications? I'm far more concerned with brilliantly effective low range response than mid- bass volume. 2). Can they be tuned to 20 hertz and still be effective drivers? 3). If not, would a …

After hearing a BTL for the first time yesterday i have decided that i want one, really bad. I will only be pushing 2000 watts to each sub in a daily setup (no comps). Is there any point in getting the high XMax coil, does this loosen up the suspension for better SQ. the BTL that I saw was only getting 1500 watts and didnt seem to flex much so im not sure if the high xmax coil would really do anything. Thanks, Keith

  4. Hi guys, got a Q15" with flat wind coil and extra spider. Now need to built a box for the same. Can only make a ported box with internal volume as maximum of 3.7 cufeet.. It will be a rectangula ported box with no bracing inside.. using 3/4" MDF Box external dim - 11.25 X 36.5 X 19" - internal volume come to be 3.7 cu feet. i still have too account sub volume displacement, port displacement and is there something left to account in? now come my queries - What is the mounting depth of Fi Q 15" ? What is the cut hole Dia for 15" Q ? How much diameter using round port will be needed - minimum and maximum ? How much more power handling the sub gets with flat wind coil …

So I'll be running my SSA Zcon 12" on 3k for now until I get around to purchasing a recone for an sp4 motor I got in a trade. My problem is..I have a trunk car and limitations on box sizes. Depth and height are a problem for me. I have come to the conclusion that the biggest I can fit is an L port enclosure about 3.9-4 cubes. If I give it about 4 inches of port and still have net, will this enclosure server well to the sp4? I'll be running 3k @ the sp4. If not recommend what you all have experimented with.

I just designed my box and came and up with 12.37 sq inches of port per cube is that a little low? What does more sq inches of port per cube do? I also came up with about 4.03 cubes per sub before displacment I want to do a little larger what does everyone I think? My dimensions I used are 23width x 34height x 49 length. they will be in an 05 f150 with two kicker zx1500. 1 amps powering them for now will upgrade power. I know they give generall recomendations of 3-5 cubes per sub and 12-16 sq inches of port per cube. What is everyone else running? and what should I tune to? I did 27 hz my amps lowest is 25 hz and the way I understood what fi said was 2 above your amps lo…

  12. I know that posted t/s paremeters on ficaraudio.com are for the stock BTL with no options. would it be possible to get the t/s params for the common fully loaded BTL built for daily music? Just curious to see how it changes, and I know you guys will always say stick to recommended box design, but it would still help me to have the t/s params.

just finished reconing my 18" BTL a few days ago.. been breaking it in at low volume.. after i thought it was broken in, i turned it up slowly and as i started getting to about 1/4-3/8s level of where i would normally play at my sub makes some what of a clicking noise to the sound of the bass, kinda sounds like plastic on plastic nocking/rattling.. any ideas from any one here as to what it could be ? havent pulled the sub out of the box yet to check anything, dont want to if i dont have to..

  24. Currently I'm using the 9 cube @ 32hz after displacement feeding it about 1.1kw rms and it sounds pretty good but I was wondering would I gain anything from going with a smaller box (7.7 @ 35hz~). IE: would I feel the bass a bit more? would it bit any louder? The only real thing I know about having such a huge box tuned at 32hz is the lows it will pound, other than that I'm a noob when it comes to the dif sizes... Fi GURUS, once again I need your help!
