To get right to the point I'm trying to determine what upgrades are necessary, and most importantly where to get this done. I installed a 200amp alternator, and 3 batteries with a single run of 1/0 from the front. I am wanting to run around 8-10kwatts rms, have about 7k now, and want to try to keep my voltage pretty steady. More batteries are in the plan when I figure out how to put them, but I really want some info on the alternators/wire. I have this on 2 btl 18s. I went to all the local shops here in Myrtle Beach, including alternator specialist shops, and besides the one that wanted way too much for a 300a alt, all of them said they could not get anything above 200amp…

  3. I'm looking to redo my wall for my BTL 18s. I'm currently using a Cactus 5kw, running it at .7. My electrical consists of a 200amp alt, XS d3400 under the hood and a d3100 in the trunk. I'll be adding a second d3100 during the rebuild of the wall. How big would you guys go for the amount of power I'm using? My current wall is 14 cubes (after displacement), 35hz tune, with 192" of port. The design was bad, hence why I'm redoing it. It's only doing a 151.5 at the headrest with the passenger door wide open. The way I have the port and subs I'm having some phase issues and I think I can get much louder then I am. This is just for daily driving with some competing on the side…

I've never done a recone before, and I was wondering if there's instructions on exactly what needs to be done. And how to use the adheisive kit that comes from the website. Thanks for any help.

Will a 15" Fi Q with BP power be ok on a AQ2200D amp at 2 ohms (1300 watts) or will that be to much power?

    i. I have an old Fi Q that I need to get reconed. When I cut up the soft parts and cleaned up the basket I. Saw it had "Q D2". I figured that would give away the time period in which it was made. I was wondering the power handling of the magnet, as I was thinking of reconing it with a BL recone kit. Could I do that with a Q magnet? I have a mmatts d300hc reconing it to a dual 1 would be my plan. Could the BL recone work with this magnet?

Hey, this is my first post here at the SSA forum (oh whoopee ).... My question (YES, QUESTION!) concerns the tuning and enclosure sizing for the Fi Q18 D2! Firstly, I'm not too sure about the relationship between enclosure volume and tuning frequency. I did see the enclosure sticky, but am tuning differently than the sticky shows and am also not sure if the size stays the same for all tunings or not...I'm thinking it changes. I plan to tune to 16hz and wondered if 30ft

  10. hey guys, i ordered 3 Q 18'' subs which i intened to use in a ported application but for some reason not sure how the high QTS option was selected..and in the options it says this is for only sealed applications..so i sent a email thinking i would be ok since it says there is a 30 day wait time but i just got a email saying my subs have shipped so im not sure if they got my email in time and made the change or not, so my question is how bad will it sound if i still throw them in a ported box even though they say the option is only for sealed applications?

Can someone tell me why about 1/4 of the spider would be torn and a lil crispy and the rest be fine? the coil looks fine too btw...powered by a KX1200.1 in a 2.6 internal sealed enclosure...it smells AND feels as if it were on fire...the gains were fine and everything, i wasnt even playing full tilt when all the sudden...silence, no pop or any sound, just no bass and the smell

  13. Hello, today was one of the worst days ever, and what happened I thought never would, but it. So I'm here today to ask for advice. I was mounting the sub (15 fI Bl) and my hand slipped and ripped the outer foam ring around the sub. It's closer outside towards the steel ring where the holes are, and you can't see it unless you fold the ring. I managed to stop and retract and not run the whole screw drover through, but it did rip. Upon inspecting it closely I lost no material, it's just a 1/8 inch long tear. My question is this fixable? In been reading like crazy and can only see two common solutions. Silicone or superglue. I am leaning more towards the silcone because it w…

Im considering eithet a 15" or an 18" Fi BL. I have an alpine mrd-m1005 amplifier (approx. 1100 watts rms @ 2 ohms). I want to stick this thing in a ported enclosure in the trunk of my cutlass, facing backwards. What would be the absolutely optimal enclosure size for these applications (both sub sizes)?

Im getting a Fi SSD 15". I need to know what options to get and what i should get for an amp. Its GOING TO BE A DAILY SUB THAT WILL BEAT TO ITS MAX EVERY DAY. I want to go with the hifonics brand amp and wonder which is right. I myself think it'll take 1,500 rms no prob. These are the amps im considering... I want to get a 4.0 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz HIFONICS TXI1508D ---------1,500 rms HIFONICS-BXI1608D ---------1,600 rms HIFONICS BXI1208D----------1,200 rms All are 1ohm stable Im going with hifonics cause they are affordable but open to others. i only have like 400 for an amp.

Greetings, and thank you in advance for considering my inquiries. : ) After becoming privy to the specs and recommendations for the 15" BLs, Qs, and SSDs, I have hit a wall in my plans for purchase. It appears ported enclosures are exclusively recommended for the BLs and SSDs of this driver size. However, the problem is the recommended tuning of which is higher than my target low frequency response of 20 hertz. My questions are: 1). Are these recommended tuning figures aimed at SPL applications? I'm far more concerned with brilliantly effective low range response than mid- bass volume. 2). Can they be tuned to 20 hertz and still be effective drivers? 3). If not, would a …

What is the cut hole Dia for 15" Q ? How much diameter using round port will be needed - minimum and maximum ? How much more power handling the sub gets with flat wind coil …

Hello, I have a kicker zx.750 and a single kicker 12 inch solo-baric L7 woofer. I tried a ported enclosure and now it is in a sealed enclosure, but I just am not getting the bass I am looking for. I have been looking into a Q series woofer and was wondering what size people would recommend and how big of an enclosure for the wattage put out by the zx.750. I currently have a 1992 lexus es300 (4 door sedan) but may possibly be buying a 1998 ford expedition. Could somebody give me some advice about what to do?

So I got a 15" Fi Q for Christmas. Everything else that I need for my system I have as well. The only thing that is missing is a subwoofer box. Originally to save some money I was gonna build my own sealed enclosure. But after talking to some of my friends and family I decided to get a professionally made box. Here's the problem though, the only site that I've managed to find is, www.klausaudio.com. And while the site looks great and the options for customizing your box is superb, they're not taking orders right now. (Or responding to my frickin e-mails...) So I wonder if you guys knew any other respected custom box dealers/makers. P.S. Since I want a sealed enclosure I w…
