I've had my Fi Q 12" (no BP option) for about a month and a half now and its been making a strange vibrating noise at certain frequencies since I bought it. I thought maybe it'd just need broken in a bit since seems to be hitting really well and doesn't sound distorted. But its still making the noise as much as it was the first day and its been broken in plenty since then. I made sure that it wasn't anything in my car rattling. I used an extra long run of speaker wire and put the box outside of the car and it was clearly the sub itself that was vibrating. Its audible with certain sounds in certain songs at a moderate volume but actually gets pretty irritating at high volu…

I want to buy 2 Fi BTL 18'' with 4000 to 5000 rms each. they will be in a 2006 ford F-150 in a "blow through" i still dont have any amps, i normally listen to music with low notes. some guy told me that if i order a sub with 5k i could not play it for more than 30 sec cause it would burn. would that be true. how much would a sub run of this type?

I have a 12'' Q with Bp and its powered by a hifonics 1208d. I was wondering if the amount of cubes made it sound different. I know it does but how much. I wanted to go with a 2.5^3 tuned to 32 hz. The only problem with this is idk if i will have the space. So would 2 cubes sound any different and how?

I need some help with the dimensions of my slot port before I go ahead and make a disaster. I have a 15" SSD in a 3.8 cuft box. I'd like to tune it to 33Hz as per Fi's recommendation Using one of those online calculators I got the following dimensions 3"H x 6"W x 5.22 L Does that look right? How would that be affected if I wanted to make 2 ports? Any help would be appreciated

i am toying with the idea of either a ported 10Q or a sealed 12Q. overall i want SQ, but want it to get loud. i listen to mostly rock music and really enjoy a good jamming bass line. i am a sales rep so i spend alot of time on the road and due to needing the space for samples i don't want a box much bigger than 1.5 cubes ( MAX ). my question is this- i already have the AX600DE-- is it enough to drive a 12Q sealed? i know that at 1 ohm it will drive 600W ( on paper ). the amp is extremely efficient, but will it really drive either Q? this is more of a question for Scott or someone with experience with Fi. i am not a newbie by any means- i am just looking for s…

I haven't purchased the Q yet but here is the box. Will the bracing get in the way or will I be good? I'll get measurements tomorrow of how far from the hole the bracing is and how many inches in between the two peices if that would help. Appreciate it!

I ordered 2 15" fi btl subs I also already have 2 rf t40001bd amps.. I was curious if everyone thinks I should just use one of the amps for both subs (each amp would have its own sub) or if 1 amp should be enough for both subs.. Any help is much appreciated

First i want to say hello, first time posting here (hope its in the right section) and after hours and hours of searching and learning i figured i would ask you guys. Well my old system ended up taking a crap on me, the 7 year old crossfire cfa-402 amp i had finally died (still kept the amp) so i upgraded to a Alpine mrp-m1000 amp to give me some room to upgrade, about 4 weeks later my sub died due to my stupidity of not keeping my finger off the volume knob (mtx 5500 15"). but hey i bought it 3 years ago before i knew anything about car audio and it was only $164 and i know i can get alot better from Fi. So now I'm without bass and I'm looking to upgrade to Fi since i …

So, I'm waiting on my loaded dual 2-ohm SP4 15" driver. I've been paying around with designs using Torres box calculator and Winisd and I'm hoping I've got something usable. After playing with a mock-up box (reinforced poster-board + hot glue did the trick), I figured out that the biggest size I can fit comes up to kinda disappointing dimensions: Outer dimensions - 16" tall X 26.75" wide X 23" deep Inner port dimensions - 14.75" X 3", 27.5" long for an estimated tuning of 32hz after driver/Plexiglas (details later)/bracing displacement Net volume comes up to a whopping 3.42 cubic feet, with 44.25 square inches of port. This is with all 3/4" MDF as well as an extra l…

okay so I have posted on here a time or two before when first acquiring my FI audio speakers. I am driving a 2010 Chevy Malibu two fully loaded 12" Fi Q's, built for a sealed enclosure due to the lack of space to slide a box in the trunk. I have a Brutus BRZ 2400 hooked up to them, running them wired down to 1 ohm resistance. I also have a kinetic 2400 battery, nothing done to battery up front or alternator. 0 gauge knukoncepts ran throughout This is my daily driver and i run the system every time im on the road (on highways for 2.5+ hours a day) the RMS rating for these subs is 1500 apiece if i remember correctly, and from what I have heard, added resistance when turnin…

Whats up, Can anyone give me advice on how many cubes my sealed enclosure should be and what it should it be tuned to? I will give it hopefully 1300 rms with a hif1606d. I listen to about 80 % rock/classic rock/metal/blues/acoustic live chit and about 20% rap but I will probably listen to more rap since I will have a sub. The sub needs to play 80hz and below. My goal is pure sq not spl Thanks for any input Captain SSD(lol and its gonna be a q)

i currently have a 1997 mercury mountaineer with 2 q18's. i plan on walling it off behind the second seat with 4 q 18's. heres the problem i run into...the depth from top to bottom of the center of the back is 37.5-38 inches tall. but at the very back where the hatch shuts it drops to about 30 or less inches roughly. how would i go about building a wall with the subs on the same plane and port as well. i wanted to do the port in the middle with a pair of 18's on each side. but how would i get my box in. i want to avoid the pacman style boxes if at all possible. please help thanks. i know there are others out there with their explorers which is the same thing running 4 18'…

This happens to me several times (actually everytime I turn up the volume). Just playing like 10-15 mins and I could smell the VC. When I touch its hot (not to the point where you can cook eggs with it) but just wondering whether I am killing the Q slowly if not quickly. the amp also runs hot but amps are made that way (thats why they have heatsink). Is my sub ok with it or is it with the low voltage and high current thinggy... thanks Wynold

I've had my Q12 for about 2 weeks now. It's been playing very nicely and hitting hard. But last night while driving around it started to cut out. It would hit a few notes and then stop. A few seconds later it would pick back up for a while. It's a D2 woofer connected to a Cadence TXA1000D amp 1ohm. It's wired in parallel. I turned down the gains and reset the settings to zero and tried to retune it. Now it seems like it isn't getting any power to the sub...I checked all the wire connections...seem to be fine. I'm lost and kinda worried that my 2 week old sub is fried... =[ Please help...

i know first thing everyone will say is why sealed, ive just been a sealed type of guy all my life, nothing against ported..but its not my taste..so i know on fi's site for 18's they suggest 4-8cu ft per sub..im having a shop make my box for me so its not like i can experiment with different sizes..so for a sealed application and for a mix of rap and rock what do you guys suggest in a box size for each 18? space isnt a issue its going in the back of a denali

Well it's time to move my set up from the S10 to the 325ix and have been crunching numbers to draw up a box. Right now I'm running my Q10 sealed at about 0.4ft^3 on a SAE-1000D at 2ohms. I will have considerable more space in the trunk of my car so Im wanting ported tuned to 27~28hz. I planned everything out so at net box volume of 1ft^3 I can use 3'' PVC at 22'' length to get 28hz. Now i'm no expert at enclosure design but I feel one 3'' port not flared will be too small? Pi*1.5^2= 7.06in^2 of port area. Id like some opinions on the matter. What do you guys think? Thanks, Mike B.
