Im wondering if anyone has some suggestions .. i know in the thread it mentions (after all displacements for those wondering). (I personally think that 1.2-1.3 cubic feet is optimal imo) but thats after displacements and i have no idea of the subs guts size. i am awaiting delivery of my sub so wanted to have the box ready. Thanks in advance

i've been reading about the whole tinsel slap thing and it's kind of scaring me... i got a single 15 hybrid transmission line built by stratusrt01 a few months ago, he okay'd to me that sub a btl would work fine in there, are their any plans in the future for any upgrades to the tinsel leads? i was thinking of getting a fully loaded 15, the car is 2002 caddy deville, the box is stout as fudge, resin on the seams, i'ma 250 pound dude and i jump on it all the time, and it's rock solid. i dont do music for the numbers, i just a daily beater, just trying to get some feedback from the people with experiance. Thanks in advance fellas.

I have a old kicker SX 1250.1 amp. its rated 1250+ at 1 ohmn. my question is what would be better for the sub and amp? 1 or 2 ohmn's? the 1 would be getting more watts so it would be louder but if i ever switch amps will that effect the 1 ohmn? the sub would be a 12in Fi BTl N1 sub, its rated at 2000rms, idk which to get 1 or 2?

I know a guy selling a BTL motor, he said it was custom machined for 1.4 ohm coils, this sub could only be reconed to 1.4 VC's correct? And would I have to order a custum recone kit for it being it is an unstandard 1.4 VC vs the standard 2 ohm or 1 ohm vc's?

Just wondering, because after measuring the space available in my small hatchback with the rear seats out, this is whats available to fit a box in. Was planning to make a box of about 8ft^ net after port and driver displacement, but just asking Have anyone tried something similar? This is for daily music playing, low(ish) power - about 2kw in a nowall setup in a very small hatchback. BTL N2 18" fully loaded is ordered and paid for, just sitting here and waiting for it to arrive. Been a month now

I have a pair of 10" BL's. I'm running these with an MA Audio HK4000D, I've been running it at 2 ohms so they'd get about 1900 watts each. I'm planning to drop the ohm load to .5 and send them more power, at least 2500 watts each. What would the recommended enclosure size be for this increased power? I'll figure out the ports and such after but I want to know what size enclosure would be right for that amount of power.

Anyone know how to figure out the resonant freq of the 10" BL's? I know they are supposed to be 40.3 Hz, but I had Fi tighten the suspension to handle more power on burps. How do I figure out the correct resonant freq without spending $100 on the Dayton woofer tester program? I had them built with the SPL option and the flatwind coils if that makes any difference.

I bought a pair of the 10" BL's with the SPL option a few years ago, maybe 4. I have no use for them anymore as a burp only sub. Is there a way to change them to a musical and burp sub without having to change motors? I know the gap is pretty tight since it's a burp only sub, just not sure if it's as simple as buying a new recone or if it's more expensive.

I'm trying to decide on a sub for my car, and design an enclosure for it. I listen to a lot of drum and bass, so due to the wide range of frequencies, I've already decided to go with a sealed enclosure, and I have a Hifonics BXi 1606D to power the sub. My original plan was to go with a 10" Q, as I figured it would be more than loud enough, even sealed. The issue I've run into, however, is that I want to mount the amp on top of the box, to keep things more compact (take up less trunk space), and to make the box and amp easily removable for autocrosses. The problem I'm having is that once I make the top of the box large enough to hold the amp (~11.25 x 14.5), and make the b…

Well i built a sealed box with .6cubes net, its not the output i was expecting. I plan on going to a ported enclosure. its going in a 2008 frontier and there isnt enough room to have the sub and port up. the sub will be up and the port will be toward the passenger side. 1. port to the driver or passenger side? 2. i read the sticky and it said .5 - 1.2 cubes is it .5 min and 1.2 optimal or any where in between there will work? 3. should i do a longer narrower port or a shorter but wider one? sub 10" Q amp - hifonics 1208 (1200w @ 1ohm) (yeah right lol) if i get 1000watts out of it her happy max 15" high max 11" wide max 12" deep

I'm lookin to run a pair of Q 10s eventually but I'm just wondering if anyone has experience using them in a smallish sized ported enclosure? .7 cubic feet to be exact, 10 sq inches of ported, tuned to 30hz...per driver of course. Thanks in advance.

Hello all. I am currently running my 10" Fi ssd woofer in custom built ported box (sub up/port back). I love it! I have a kid on the way and would like to switch to a smaller sealed box for more space. I have a couple of questions: 1. Can purchase a prefab box that meets the recommened specs? 2. What size would be optimal? .6-1 cubic feet is what is recommended but would it be better to stay on the .6 side or the 1 cubic foot side? Thank you in advance...
