I scored 2 15"q's of ebay for 405$ So im in the process of designing a new box for them. My box total after speaker and bracing displacement is 11.488cuft. So i need about 137-183 inches of port area. I was thinking a 9inx20in port 25.84 inches long for 30hz. That would leave me 8.798cuft after all displacement with 180 inches of port area. Does this sound good? If not what would you reccomend?

Hey Guys, Could anyone help me with a box design, I built some sealed ones, but I just am not sure how to calculate the ports and tuning with ported ones. Even with the Box calculator's. I am looking for a box to hold 2 15 BL's and a box for 1 15 BL. Tuned from 28-32 Hz, Not sure on what would sound better. 30"depth 42"width 20" heigth these are the specs I wanna work with, I can fit more but, this is really what I wanna stay around Anyway, Thankx to anyone that can help me with this. Ok guys heres the situation. I ordered a BL 15 with cooling and flat wind dual 2 ohm. I'm building a box myself and having trouble on what to do with the port. The box is planned at 3.76 ft^3 with the woofer displacement added in. Its recommended to have 12-16 sq in of port per cube so i need anywhere from 45-60 sq in of port. I want to just maybe slap a 3x6 aero port or maybe a 4x6 aero port. The 3x6 is 42 sq in and the 4x6 is 75. Both not in the range i need. Also looked on amazon and found precision ports 3 in and a 4 in round. Doesn't say the length on them tho . Reviews say there adjustable somehow. Help would be appreciated. Also wanted some recommendations on ampl…

I have a 12 " bl and I am about to begin building a new box for it. I want to use the same cut outs posted on here but I want to make the box with the sub facing up and the port facing the back door on my jeep. Does anyone know how to modify the cut out given to make it this way or do I need to make a whole new design?

Hello everyone. I am receiving a 12 inch Q for Christmas which I am rather pleased about because Fi woofers are class... I was wondering what I should do about a box, the woofer is going in my bedroom instead of a car but all the reviews I have read about the Q lead me to it. It will be used entirely for music, rock, techno, a little pop, and perhaps some rap to show off a little. The room is about 8x10x8 with a chunk removed that is about a 18 inches by 3 feet for a closet, so not a terribly large room. One of my questions is the great sealed vs ported debate, which would sound better in this application. The Q will be more than plenty in a room this size either way. I…

since some of you knows very well this product i though it might be a good thing to ask before making a choice... i got a btl 12 that will run on a soundstream tarantula trx2000d... ive done the big 3 and im wondering how to maintain a constant 14.4 load to my amp?? plus a need a box desing. im gonna be using this sub daily for mostly hip hop and got a mazda protege 1999 with enough space in the trunk . i also heard that a square box aint the best option since the sound produced by the woofer would hit the back panel then bounce back troughout the cone area and produce distortion(by the way sorry for my english im french) is it true???? and thats about it thanks for you…

I'm needing some advice on a box design for a 18" btl (old style) going in the back of a 1996 gmc suburban. Its a daily driver (no competitions) and Im looking for decent sound quality while hitting low and hard. I listen to mostly rap music and a little r & b. Not sure which way I should face the sub or the port or any of the box details to best suit my needs. Space should not be a issue since its going in suburban. Here are some other details about the install. Amp: Memphis 16-2000d (old school mojo) Components: 2 sets of CDT CL-61A w/ a kicker zx200.2 amp Electrical: 200 HO alternator and 2 yellow tops. 1/0 monster cable everywhere Head Unit: Jensen vm9411x (Yes …

And i also need a box design for my buddys setup, max measurements of 40"x26"x26", with the same idea as my box. so if there is anyone with ideas, let me know please. thanks

This is my first real system and I plan on running 2 10" FI Q's with a Sundown Audio SAZ-3000D. I have plenty of experience with woodwork, but since this is my first real system where I'm building my own box, I need some help with that. First off, originally I was planning on facing the subs inside the car and seal off the rest of the trunk. It's a 4-door and I can't really remove the back seat, but the majority of the time the back seat is down anyway. However, after reading a bit more I've heard a lot of people mention and tests done to show the subs may actually be louder facing the rear of the car. What do you guys think the optimal setup in my car will be? I'm drivin…

Hello, I am new to this forum and the proud owner of a new dual 2 ohm Q12 with BP option. I am looking to build a ported box for the sub tuned to the recommened 32hz. I would appreciate some help with the design. The sub will be powered by a Soundstream PCA1500D. I will most likely run the sub at 4 ohms for a while until I upgrade my Big 3 sometime this summer. I would like the box to be a slot port with rounded corners somewhere in the range of ~2 cubic feet. The box will be made out of 3/4" mdf Box outer size (max): 12.5" tall 30" or 32" wide (can't recall the correct measurement right now) Depth is variable So far my calculations have brought me to the following: …

I have an 04 super crew F150 and im taking the center seat out of the back seat and im gonna center console 2 12"s. im gonna try to fit BTLs. id like to keep it a wood enclosure to keep the cost down. Anyone have any ideas for how to get them to fit and have the airspace they need?

So while waiting for my sub to arrive I've been messing around in sketchup, which I just learned to use. This is only my second design but I think it's pretty good. Let me know what you guys think. Only thing I'm weary about is how the sub will be right in front of where the port begins. Is this a problem? Maybe I can go narrower on the port and make it longer... Edit: Forgot to mention it's for a Fi Q 12". Also not sure of the port displacement. 3.43 would probably make more sense for a sealed enclosure...how do I take into account the port? 3.43 cu. ft. @ 31 Hz
