hi guys. i was just wondering if anyone has a BTL18 in their trunk? i will be looking for a new or used car this weekend, and i want to be able to fit a decent sized box in the trunk. i really don't want to go with a hatchback, van or SUV right now i have a 2.8 cubic foot box with a fosgate t115d4 and its not loud enough for me. i will be ordering a 15 or 18 inch BTL18 before the end of the month. i want a 5 to 8 cubic foot enclosure to fit.

Hey all. I'm going to build a sealed box for my 10" Fi Q woofer. It says the mounting depth is 6.5" for that driver. How much clearance should I have behind that woofer in the box to ensure adequate ventilation? I want my box to be as shallow as possible to save on some trunk space. Thank you.

ok well i have a 18 q im going to put in my trunk .theres plenty of room . my box will be about 8 cubes tuned to 28. the problem is i can only mount the sub on top because the trunk height is only 19 inches...is itgoing to sound right with the speaker up close to the trunk lid...besides major outside rattling would there be any other problems?.thanks

Ok So box build is going nicely so far. Im working 16 hour days cause well im greedy and i soak up whatever over time is avalible..So iv slowed down a little bit... I hit a 140.4 with a sine wave... I then hit a 139.9 with music... Is this just because I didnt burp it? It seems as though the Sine wave and the Music are way to close.. Im just curious is all and would like to know before I go and re meter with the new box...

I want to get a BL to add to my collection, but I want a Dual 4. What's the extra cost from FI to do this? Thanx in advance. P.S. Only other options I would be choosing would be: P chamfer and Cooling.

Hi! Im thinking about buy 2x Fi btl 15inch for my new system. But in the part of configure speaker i dont know what to choose! Its my second system so i still dont know to mutch. :/ I was thinking about the spl option. But the anothers i dont understand too mutch for what they serve Pleeease somebody can help me? uuh. And what amp you guys think are good to the subs? Thkx!

So I've had this Q since 2009, bought it off someone, and Im gonna order a recone for it soon because the surround got damaged, just wondering if its possibe if anyone can look at it n tell me which options it had? it was dual 2 ohm coils. Only thing i can tell is im pretty sure it didnt have the cooling option. thanks in advance

ok guys i wanna put in my car 2 12" fi q d2 and i dont know how many cubic feet my box needs! i wanna hit lows soo i want it at 32hertz of tuning. i know that one fi q 12" need 2.35 cubic feet after sub displasement for 32hertz i have a 99 maxima and my maximum mesure is 36" width 14.5" height 26" dept i wanna use 3/4 mdf anyway i really need your help and thanks alot! and what type of glue ad nails should i use ... anyway really enjoyed your help

I've had my Fi Q 12" (no BP option) for about a month and a half now and its been making a strange vibrating noise at certain frequencies since I bought it. I thought maybe it'd just need broken in a bit since seems to be hitting really well and doesn't sound distorted. But its still making the noise as much as it was the first day and its been broken in plenty since then. I made sure that it wasn't anything in my car rattling. I used an extra long run of speaker wire and put the box outside of the car and it was clearly the sub itself that was vibrating. Its audible with certain sounds in certain songs at a moderate volume but actually gets pretty irritating at high volu…

Just being curious, about how nice would 4 15's, either BTL or BL, sound being funneled through a cut through in the bed of a truck going into the cab. Would the rear seats ruin a lot of the air being moved? Or will stuff still fly????

I have a 94 cadillac fleetwood I am trying to find the best way to put 2 18" btl fully loaded in the trunk I have 2 t40001d rf amps and enough juice to run it all I just need to find out wat everyone thinks will be the best way to due it. Also is it ok to put the ports on the outsid of the box so that way i can keep the cubic foot in the enclosure at the max

Alright I started on one more box last week and I am ditching it already. Well im going to finish it for my friends sub, and then start over. I need advice though. Its a daily driver, but I want it to go as loud as possible. I think Ill stay with 32hz 8 Cubes Box Design thanks to rpfuror on caraudio.com Round the ports And 45's in every corner Double Baffled Bracing Any other ideas? ok today i was playing my woofer while driving for about 1 hr. after i got home and parked, i went to the rear and touched the dust cap of the woofer and it felt warm. i was wondering if this is normal and is there anything i should be worried about? my d2 18" bl is being ran on a kicker 1200.1 @ 1 ohm. head unit gains are set to 0 and amp gain is about 40% turned up and bass boost aswell. woofer is in a 9 cube ported box tuned to 32 hz.

Ok, I am a ported enclosure built from pound that sound for 2-12" Fi Bl subs. I built a cardboard box like he asked as big as possible to fit in my trunk. It ended up being 39" wide x 13" Tall x 15" deep. This was sitting on the ledges on each side of the trunk and the spare tire hole being empty on the center. The box has to be dropped in from the top and has about an inch and a half gap on the top, and the side facing the rear of the car. Will this be enough space for those subs? I notice it asks for 1.8-2.5 per sub so I think I am a little small unless I would extend the bottom center of the box down into the spare tire well. HMMMMM?

Alright guys im new here and don't know if this is the right place for this but i have an old box for 2 15's. Its 10 cu.ft tuned to like 33 hz. Im wanting to get some new Btl N2's. But im not sure if i want to stick to 15's or cut the holes out bigger to hold 2 18's. What do you think i should do? Never had 18's. So Im trying to squeeze the most spl's out of it as i can. Also i will be using my Memphis Mojo 4kw amp.

I'm planning on a new system in my 1970 oldsmobile cutlass. I wanted it to include 2 btl subs with my. rockford fosgate t4000bd amp. I was wonderng if amlnyone has any sugestions on any aftrmarket alternators. I was also wondering if Im able to just add a second alternator to my car or would that increase the voltage were it would screw up the cars electrical as well as burn up the amp. -Thanx, Jack

Car: 95' Lexus SC400. Driver: 1 or 2 Q's. 12s? Here's the deal, I'd love to do 2 12" Q's in about 2.8 cubes sealed or so. If I can make it fit. OR, I can do 1 12" Q and port it, but at what cost to SQ if the box is built properly? 1 Ported would yield a slightly smaller box if space is as much of an issue as it could potentially be once I tear out the false wall. The problem lies in that there is a Factory 10 and 2 4" in the rear deck, I think. 10 for sure, not 100% on the size of the mids there. The rear wall is steel with the gas tank there as well. The SSD is a great sub... The SSD is currently being powered by a SAZ-1500d on my stock electrical along with my beautiful Pioneer 860mp as the captain of the ship Anywho When I first purcahsed the sub I only had a 4.5 cu ft ported enclosure for its home and well lets say it was a great experience to say the least. 4.5 cu ft review: 4.5 cu ft enclosure didn't really provide the SQ that I was looking for but it was loud and allowed it to produce a substantial amount of spl. Very noticable to the point it would tickle my ears and this is one sub mind you had friends that rode in my car think I had 2 subs. Why does the FI Q have 27mm xmax and the BL only 21. Does this increase with options like the BTL? I'm sure the numbers are correct. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Trying to research which subs to use for my application. 418s in a single reflex bandpass. I heard lil johns 1612s ssd's and they were very smooth. I've been leaning towards the BL's myself but cannot for 1 second knock the SSD's. just a little confused on the Q's Xmax being the most in the lineup. Thanks again - Joe Rod

So i have a friend who has two sp4 15's. He is trying to run them in a box that is roughly 4 cubes net after displacement. I keep telling him this is small for them but i could be wrong. His port is external. running it on a bc3500 Any recommendations to help him out would be appreciated.

I'm running an SSD10 in a ~.8cuft sealed box with 400W from a PDX. I'm mostly satisfied but it seems to lack the very bottom end...just doesn't have any oomph and sounds like response rolls of pretty sharp. I only notice it once in a while on certain tracks where I expect to get a low hit. I've had this sub for a couple of years but I swear the enclosure specs used to call for a larger enclosure compared to the .2-.6 I see now. That's why I'm in the bigger box. Can this thing really perform well in .3-.4cuft?
