Hey fellow forum go'ers, long time reader first time poster. Just recently pulled the trigger on a BL 12 cant wait for it to show up, and for some reason work thinks all the box calculator sites need to be blocked So here's my what i have BL12 d1vc powering it with a Rockford Fosgate T1000-1bdCP i need a box design max dimensions are 20Wx18Dx26H max its going in the backseat of a f-150 extended cab in place of the stupid little jumber seat behind the driver seat. If one of you fantastic box guru's could lend me a hand with a slot ported box tuned to 32hz i would much appreiciate it. I think 32hz is what im after anyways listen to most everything. Thanks all i…

Just ordered a Q 12" 2ohm with cooling and spider option. This will be my first car audio setup so I am super excited. I know I want to go ported but I'm not sure if it should be firing toward the rear or firing up. It will be going in a 2000 Eclipse. Thoughts? I've been looking at amps. Thinking 1500W-1700W. I've read a lot of good things about Sundown amps. Was looking at the SAZ-1500D V.2 Then I came across the HiFonics BRE1600.1D and BRZ1700.1D both are priced at $200. Seems like a good deal vs. the $525 for the Sundown. Anyone have any experience with HiFonics amps? Are they any good or should I just save a little longer and go with Sundown? I'm really a noob to …

I've had my Fi Q 12" (no BP option) for about a month and a half now and its been making a strange vibrating noise at certain frequencies since I bought it. I thought maybe it'd just need broken in a bit since seems to be hitting really well and doesn't sound distorted. But its still making the noise as much as it was the first day and its been broken in plenty since then. I made sure that it wasn't anything in my car rattling. I used an extra long run of speaker wire and put the box outside of the car and it was clearly the sub itself that was vibrating. Its audible with certain sounds in certain songs at a moderate volume but actually gets pretty irritating at high volu…

Would a the US Amp MD 2D be enough for 2 10" SSDs with the copper coil? The does the amp really produce 1500 watts at 1 ohm? Or is it overrated?

The website says between .8 and 1.5 cu. ft. for a sealed enclosure. Could someone give me a more exact size? Or at least tell me what would be the difference in sound if it was placed in a .8 cu ft box vs a 1.5 cu ft box? I'm currently running an IDQv3 12 and was given an exact volume size for a sound quality setup. What do you guys suggests? I listen to rock and electronic music. Thanks in advance!

I would like to get a FI 12 Q sub. On the front page of the FI website it says "All subwoofers are custom made to your desired options in 3-7 business days" but contradicts itself when you go to order the sub which says "30 day build time due to US steel delays." Which one is it? I want one of these subs but not sure I want to wait 30 days for a build on it.

Hey all. I'm going to build a sealed box for my 10" Fi Q woofer. It says the mounting depth is 6.5" for that driver. How much clearance should I have behind that woofer in the box to ensure adequate ventilation? I want my box to be as shallow as possible to save on some trunk space. Thank you.

I was driving to San Francisco today listening to music in the car not all that loud and about 3/4 of the trip I noticed that the brakes started to respond slower. For example, I'd press down the brakes 1/3 of the way down and it won't respond until I press halfway down until the brakes even start working. By the time I arrived in the city, I popped the hood and I noticed that the wires were coming loose from the fuse holder. What's even worse was that the wire was in contact with something metal and I saw some burn marks with something black that melted as well, probably plastic. Anyways, I made it safely, but it turns out I didn't do a great job with the wiring. Althoug…

I just bought a 15" FI-Q and now I am debating between amps. I looked at a high end: memphis mcd1000, Rockford Fosgate Power T10001bd, Low end: Hifonics BX1206D, Memphis PRD 1000.1. Any suggestions for an amp..or any listed that I should go with? Secondly, I am unsure if I should go ported with a low tune of 28-32hz or just go sealed with it. I want it to bump hard, deep bass and want some sq out of it. SO will that low tuned ported box give me a good sq but also hit hard?

hello im building a sealed box for 2 q15 subs in my 1996 honda civic hatchback, i have a few questions? 1.... should i have each sub in seperate chambers or the same chamber? what is the pros and cons of doing either? 2.... what kind of difference in sound should there be between the largest recommended size encloser and somewhere inbetween? and whats the pros and cons of each? 3.... what kind of effect would there be having the subs down facing? Now for my front stage i want some more midbass, i have 2 different types of 6.5 inch woofers, infinity perfect 6.1 and older set of diamond audio hex series, i was thinking of putting the infinitys in the doors and getting some …

Started on my box today for a single Fi Q 15" (still haven't ordered it yet though...). I just had to order from Fi as after reading tons of reviews and talking to a few people, I have heard nothing but great things, whether it be the great quality, customer service, and pricing. Anyway the box is sealed (thought I'd make my first build a little easier on myself...). The Q's should do well in both sealed and ported enclosures, correct? I double layered the top to make it 1.5" thick. The inside dimensions of the box are 11.75" tall x 20.5" wide x 20.5" deep. Total is 2.86ft.^3. Subtract the sub displacement from that and the grand total is 2.67ft.^3. The .7 (almost a 1" cu…

Car: 95' Lexus SC400. Driver: 1 or 2 Q's. 12s? Here's the deal, I'd love to do 2 12" Q's in about 2.8 cubes sealed or so. If I can make it fit. OR, I can do 1 12" Q and port it, but at what cost to SQ if the box is built properly? 1 Ported would yield a slightly smaller box if space is as much of an issue as it could potentially be once I tear out the false wall. The problem lies in that there is a Factory 10 and 2 4" in the rear deck, I think. 10 for sure, not 100% on the size of the mids there. The rear wall is steel with the gas tank there as well. Again, I have not had time to tear this out but I know there is at least some room in there because I've seen pic a…

Ok So box build is going nicely so far. Im working 16 hour days cause well im greedy and i soak up whatever over time is avalible..So iv slowed down a little bit... I hit a 140.4 with a sine wave... I then hit a 139.9 with music... Is this just because I didnt burp it? It seems as though the Sine wave and the Music are way to close.. Im just curious is all and would like to know before I go and re meter with the new box...

Hi all, one of my friend just bought a new 18"ssd with Flat wind and Bp power. he wanted to achieve maximum spl with minimum power so a bigger sub was chosen. Now, he has a blaupunkt vpa1500pro amplifier which puts out 950 Rms @ 2ohms and 1500@ 1 ohms. As the sub is dual 1ohms, he will be wiring it at 2ohms for a clean 950rms output. Now the problem starts, the car boot is limited to 4.5cufeet of space at maximum, the idea was to go for a ported box but as recommended by FI on this forum first few topics, atleast 6cufeet is needed for a SSD . And that's true due to its lesser powerful motor compared to Btl's or SMD's which can be used in 4.5 cufeet ported boxes. Roun…

I have experience with a ported 12" BTL (2500RMS amp) last year. and a ported 12" BL (1500RMS amp) before that. Figured I'd save up a do 2x15" Q's with options in a sealed enclosure. Would a 2500RMS amp be enough, or would they require more power than that since the drivers will be fighting vacuum? Recommended size per sub is 2.0-2.6sqft. Goal is to slam the lows, should I aim for a smaller or larger enclosure. Also, what's recommended for dual drivers, separate or shared internal space?
