I am a noob set on getting 2 15" BTLs but I don't know if i should run them at 2 ohms or 1 ohm. The problem is that there are not many amps that support 2000 watts unless at 1 ohm. If there are any suggestions for an amp with adjustable subsonic filter, that can run @ 32hz+, for 2 15" 2000 watt rms subs, PLEASe let me know. Thanks

  2. My sub sounds like ass in the box that I currently have it in. Waaaay too much port noise! I am only running a single sub right now, but I will have two Q's pretty soon. I am in desperate need of a box design to fit my needs, my parameters are as follows: (Max Dimensions Given) Depth - 15" Height - 16" Width - 34" I need the box tuned to about 32HZ. I would like to keep the chambers separate, as it might be a while before I buy the other sub. I would like to hear what the first sub sounds like before spending more money on another 1. All help would be appreciated. You can PM me on caraudio.com under Qbenjamin.

I have the Beta version of WinISD. I put in the parameters for the 15" Fi BTL from the website and no matter what I do it doesn't work right. I more than likely have one of the parameters wrong. Does anyone else have theres working and would be willing to post a picture or something so I can see what I did wrong?

  9. over a year ago i purchased my 2 fi btl n2 15's fully loaded, and because i waited 4 months to get em, i didnt wanna wait to install, so i went to a local shop to have a box built and installed, it was supposed to cost around 500, but ended up being 800 when i left, a few months later i got into a small fender bender and the box fell just fell appart, i took it back for repairs and they said the could do it for 100, so i did it annnnd, nothing was really fixed except they just re positioned it, it has been un hooked after the alternator they sold me died, i and just gave up at that point. recently i have decided to rebuild and everything with the help of my uncle cause i …

assuming both are in 8^3 ft @ 32 hz with 3kw to split between them @ 2 ohms with equal installs. which ones would be louder? my main concern is, do these subwoofers basically take power the same way and just 1 gears it more towards an SQ aspect and the other a SPL aspect. or is basically just the power applied that will determine which is louder? i mean both are rated @ 1kw and the only thing that seperates them are the power options that apply to the thermal side of power handling. but mechanically, as far as power handling goes, are they the same? same stiffness spiders etc? i have been told by one guy that his 2 15" q's were louder off 1.2kw of power than his bl 15's t…

what kind of grills are needed for the fi q 15 ? something strong to protect the sub. i have a suv and 2 kids, i don't want to worry about things getting thrown in back. most of the grills i have found don't have enough clearance for the full throw of the cone. looks are not an issue. if i can't find something soon i'm going to start welding my own.

Been away from car audio for a bit and was curious what some others thought about this..... I found a pre-fab box that is made for higher output subs and seems to match up with the requirements for the BTL15. Here's the stats for it. Brand: AudioEnhancers Single 15 Inch: Yes Vented: Yes Tuned Bandpass: Yes Includes Terminal Cups: Yes Fits Round Sub(s): Yes Constructed With: 1" MDF Enclosure Volume: 4.87 Cu. Ft Dimensions: W 34 1/2 H 19 3/4 TD 16 1/2 BD 16 1/2 It's has 83 inches of port area, which equals out to about 17 sq inches per, just a hair more than what the site recommends. It sounds to me like it'll work. What do you guys think. I'll be pushing …

I have never made a box before and found that cut sheet page and if it saves me $300 by not going to a car audio store to have one built I think I would give it a shot. My 12" Q should be delivered tomorrow according to UPS. I'm trying to decide on either a sealed or ported box to go under the rear seat of my Extended Cab Silverado. I've never run a sealed enclosure in my past 2 setups, and I'm skeptical as to whether I will be satisfied with the output of one. Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello all, Havent been on the forums for a while but Im doing a new build and need some recommendations. I was thinking of purchasing 2 Q10" subs and installing them in .8cu ft enclosures. These enclosures are Subthump stealth boxes that fit behind the wheel wells of a 2010 Camaro. I have a few questions. 1) Whats the diameter of the magnet on the 10" Q? The max magnet diameter of this box design is 6.75". Will it fit? And do any of the build options change the magnet size? (cooling option. pchamfer, etc.) 2) The specs on Fi's website recommend .2-.5 cuft after displacement with the high qts option. The boxes I'm looking at are .8cuft. I see people on the forum talking a…

So I just ordered an Fi Q 12" a few days ago. I only got the cooling option, didn't think the others would really be necessary. I also ordered an Audioque AQ1200D to push it. Only thing I still haven't made up my mind about is the enclosure. I do have limited trunk space, the recommended Q 12" ported box in the cut sheets thread will fit my trunk exactly with no room to spare. Sealed would be fine, but I really want to go ported. The car is an 09 GTI. Music would mostly be drum n bass, dubstep, other electronic music, basically a mix of lows and highs. I could either go sealed or a smaller ported box. I just want the clarity and crispiness along with being able to be hear…

I'm looking to recone two LA storm X1 10's. I want to use 12's instead. So what I need is two 12in baskets, and two recone assemblies that fit in the 3HP gap. I haven't been able to find out anything about the gap, other than its a 3in coil. But I saw at CA that you guys reconed a 3HP neo. What series coil fits? Thats the question. As it is right now, I have a Fosgate 1000D on each sub, so dual 1.4 or 2ohm coils would be what I want. I can say that they will be going in a 5cu ported box. (thats the largest I can fit in my car.) And I'll be using them for daily.

Hello, I'm planning on building my first system and I am wondering what specifications I should get on my FI 15'' BTL. I want to get it to 1 ohm, so would I go with dual 1 or dual 2? I am going to buy an AudioQue 2200D, it is 1 ohm stable. I am going to do the Big 3 once I buy a new HO alternator. Any tips and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

this is a test box i built. okay it's 1.1cu. ft. and i had it tuned from 32-36-40-48. after trying all of these, the other box i have in the car is louder. do i not have enough port or wrong place? i don't know. at 32 hz the test box has a smoother transition. all the rest of the tunings were okay, not great. anyways my question is what size box would you guys recommend for spl and at what tuning? my car peaks at 43 hz in the old box. maybe i was expecting too much but after hearing the bl in my existing box i got all excited. just wanna try and make an spl box the one i have now is a pretty good dd. thank you in advance to everyone. btw it's a 3" port and a 1…
