Robin (iamamp3pimp) was in the process of building me a 2.8^3 @ 35Hz box for my AA Chaos 15D2 when I had to sell the sub due to financial issues. My question is would a Fi BL15D2 run off my AP15001D work in this enclosure? Sub would have cooling, flatwind, and daily options. Looking to get decent lows and numbers out of this box, though sound is more important than numbers to me. Had the CHaos 15 in a similar box before with good results, just bumped up tuning on this new box from 30 to 35Hz trying to get a little better score than the 143.7 at 40Hz I got with the first box. Here is a pic of the first box, new box will be designed the same but built out of raw birch. Th…

My friend is buyin a Fi Q with all the extras and we were wandering if any body had any old box dimensions and i dont want the dimensions from the website Q 15 – We recommend using a sealed box in the neighborhood of 2-2.6 cubic feet of volume. Ported box we recommend using 2.8-4 cubic feet @ 28-33Hz. Again use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume. so plz if u have some dimensions for an 15" Fi Q ported box Thanks

Well im running my 15 q ported right now and ilike the way it sounds but i was wondering how many of u are running them in a sealed box? I know the ported would most likely get deeper than the sealed but i was wondering hwo much of a difference it would be sealed and what other peoples opinions on the q sealed are. I do listen to alot of rap thats why i went with ported. Was wondering everyones opinions on the ported vs. sealed. thanks

i am looking to try out a new design in my ranger. this will be for a 15" btl fully loaded. my max outer dimensions are 50 long x 16 deep x 18t all. heres the kicker, i would like the sub in the middle of the box facing the roof and would like to have the ports doing the same on each side of the sub. i am looking to get it tuned to 30-35 hz. the only reason i want the sub in the middle is because my truck is bagged and i want the weight in the center for even psi on both sides. i live near milwaukee wi if anyone is wondering

Just a quick question, I have a JL 12W6V2 that I bought on ebay a couple of years ago. Sub worked fine for a while, but eventully died on me (my fault of course, got a lil greedy with the gains lol)and has been collecting dust at the house ever since. I was wondering if FI can do a recone on this sub? Thanks.

Hello all, I purchased a Q12 years ago and unfortunately for the life of me cannot remember if it is the dual 2 ohm or dual 1 ohm. There doesn't seem to be any markings on the sub or coils...how can I tell what I have? I could have sworn it was the dual 2, so I wired it in parallel to put a 1 ohm load on my amp. It sounds great, but the amp is going in protection mode when I turn it up. The amp is 1 ohm stable. So I pulled the sub out, wired it in series...which would put it at a 2 ohm load (if it was in fact a dual 1). No matter how much I turn it up, it stays on just fine. Problem fixed, right? Wrong. The sub sounds like crap now! As if the polarity is wrong or somethin…

I was wondering if you guys had the specs on the btl 15" fully loaded. Specifically the displacement after the 3rd mag', mounting depth, and xmax. I ran a search but no luck. How do I calculate these specs if I want to double the front baffle board. what are they afterwards. thanks for the help in advance.

Hi all, I just recently switched my Q10 from being sealed in an ext. cab S10 to .9cuft port enclosure in an '88 BMW 325ix. I took a ton of time designing the box for the bimmer because I was looking for more output down low so I shot for 27hz using 4in PVC. I got it all built up and installed and I'm slightly disappointed with it so far. Things just don't seem loud enough. I figured going ported AND in a larger cab compared to the S10 I would get more output but I'm getting significantly less. I must add, the enclosure is sealed up to the rear firewall firing into the cabin of the car through the ski pass hole so I have zero trunk rattle. I don't know how this would affec…

Hello, I am new to this forum and the proud owner of a new dual 2 ohm Q12 with BP option. I am looking to build a ported box for the sub tuned to the recommened 32hz. I would appreciate some help with the design. The sub will be powered by a Soundstream PCA1500D. I will most likely run the sub at 4 ohms for a while until I upgrade my Big 3 sometime this summer. I would like the box to be a slot port with rounded corners somewhere in the range of ~2 cubic feet. The box will be made out of 3/4" mdf Box outer size (max): 12.5" tall 30" or 32" wide (can't recall the correct measurement right now) Depth is variable So far my calculations have brought me to the following: …
