Im currently using the RE Enclosure calculator (http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html) and after putting in the dimensions I can fit in my trunk and Im playing around with port size and what not and I was curious, the "tech" section on the Fi site says the recommended tuning is 33hz, I can only get my box to fit if I tune it around 34hz, is this an issue? would it be better to be lower than ideal if you cant get the ideal 33hz like 32hz instead... Or am I not even gonna notice? Also, again refering to the "tech" section, for the 10s it recommends 15 square inches of vent per cubic foot of air space, is it a major issue if I can only work around 12 square …

I traded everything i had about 6 months ago, well, guy gave me good deal on getting all back and some new stuff he just bought. Anyway its 2 BL 18s, and 2 sundown 1500ds strapped. I had subs up, port back, 20 cubes before port and subs tuned to 33hz. It sounded great and definitely had the lows. box before was this: then i had new design done for wall behind front seats, same tuning, and specs, both boxes with 200+ square inches of port, wall box: Both boxes designed by chris at fishercustoms. I never use backseat anyway, but not sure if will make big difference as in louder if i go with a wall. any suggestions? or just go back how it was?

Im building an enclosure for 2 12 BLs with 2500w RMS and I want to put a window in the back, Im not sure what the best material to use is, Ive heard different things but it seems my two options are 3/4inch Plexiglass or 1/2inch Lexan... Which is better?

Bought a new Fi Q 12 and i was wondering if you guys could help me out with the enclosure, i have a hatchback its a golf with Cdt es-520 with upstage up front and cl-61a in the rear powered by a Directed 1100d5 and strapped to 600d for 1200watts @ 2ohm for the sub. i listen to wide range of music but mostly reggae, hip-hop, r&b, rap, pop, and some classics. My goal is sound quality but i would also like it to be loud at the same time without sacrificing sound quality and with that said would a sealed or ported enclosure best suit my hatchback. The recommended box volume for a sealed enclosure is 4-8 cubic feet. Is there much of a difference in sound quality from 4-8? What exactly would be the benefits and disadvantages of having the volume be 4 cubic feet to 8? What about 5 6 7? So far what I could gather is there would be less low-end with the smaller box volume but the bass would be more detailed. Is this necessarily true? I have trued modeling the a box with WinISD but it didn't seem very useful to me. Also, would adding polyester fiberfill be useful in a larger volume box? Thanks!

i got rid of my RE SE 15 recently. ran it in 3 cube sealed,amazing lows, but looking for more output sealed if poss. could i expect more output with a Q 15 sealed due to higher excursion than the SE? if not and ported is the only way, will the Q 15 work well with a 28hz tuning in a box smaller than 4 cubes? my goal is amazing low end extension like my SE had sealed, just louder. i dont feel that a Q 12 will be capable sealed of this compared to the RE 15. amp is a Sundown sae-1200d

just crusin didnt even make it off my street sub up like half way.. sub cuts out, amps not in protect, no sound whatsoever out of the sub... pull out the DMM.. 2.1 ohms resistance at the wires out the sub (my dual 1 BTL in series) ok.. sub is not blown? set to voltage.. check the outputs on the amp got fluctuation in voltage with music on, unplug the RCAs voltlage stops fluctuating.. so i figure I'm getting signal from the amp, from the headunit, to the sub... where the hell is my problem I'm stumped.. Well I have been looking for a new set of 12's for my truck. I just purchased a dodge mega cab that needs some serious audio loving. I have (2) 15 eclipse ti subs that will not fit. I am trying to put (2) 12's behind the rear mega cab seats. I have been thinking seriously about buying a pair of Fi BL or BTL subs but I am worried about space for the BTL's. I have 60 inches of width 23 inch height but the depth is only 7.5 inches at the top and around 11 at the bottom. Is there a way I could build a ported enclosure with those dimensions that could effectively push 2 BTL's or BL's. I would be using 2 DEI Viper D1200.1 amps. so i was on my way to work and i was subbing as usual..when i got the scent of like something burning..i really dont have the slighest idea of what it is but i can only compare it to like plastic burning..i noticed it only smelled when the bass is hitting low notes..so i get to work..8 hrs later..im leaving work and start subbing again, it plays about 10 seconds of the song and the sub goes out! and this was about 1 hour ago..so im pissed! i have no idea whats going on..everything is working fine except the sub..all lights indicate everything is good..do i need to recone it?? im not very knowledgeable with these audio systems! please help! this is my set up 1 18" fi btl 1…

ok today i was playing my woofer while driving for about 1 hr. after i got home and parked, i went to the rear and touched the dust cap of the woofer and it felt warm. i was wondering if this is normal and is there anything i should be worried about? my d2 18" bl is being ran on a kicker 1200.1 @ 1 ohm. head unit gains are set to 0 and amp gain is about 40% turned up and bass boost aswell. woofer is in a 9 cube ported box tuned to 32 hz.

first off i have an 18" fi q with the bp power option and a hifonics 1610d amp. its in a focus, and it will b in a 7 cubic foot box hopefully, but my question is that i want to use pvc ports instead of the normal slot port, i used the winisd program, but either im an idiot, or its really hard to use. i put in my t-s parameters for the q and then i set it to 7 cubic feet and put the tuning at 28 hz. then i changed the porting to round and put in that i wanted to use 2 4" ports. it says they need to be 9.25" each. is there nebody out there that can check that for me to make sure its correct? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

Can anyone tell me the exact weight of a Fi Q 12"

I know that posted t/s paremeters on ficaraudio.com are for the stock BTL with no options. would it be possible to get the t/s params for the common fully loaded BTL built for daily music? Just curious to see how it changes, and I know you guys will always say stick to recommended box design, but it would still help me to have the t/s params.

Might be a dumb question but whatever I'm very new in box design and I did search but it wasn't easy describing this in a search. I have a box now THE's set up for 1 12" FI BTL tuned to 32hz mounted in my tunk facing the rear of my trunk. Box cu ft now with 1 sub counting displacment and vent is 3.75. I was thinking of installing a second one on the oppisite side of the box firing inside the cabin.... My question is: Will the sub work correctly and sound good this way? With a second sub including displacemnt the cu ft. would by 3.57 so according to specs thats slightly above the low end size for 2 FI BTL's correct? i have 2 15 qs and i was planning on putting them in a 08 honda accord, any suggestions on whut box to throw them in, ported?sealed? really not sure on whut direction to go with this

Hey guys im wondering if anyone has any dementions for a box or can set one up for me for my car i use the BL for DD and the box needs to be 37inches or smaller in width and 18inches or smaller in hight, doesnt matter depth. Does any one have dementions to i can build a slot ported box, im too busy to even set up all the hertz or know the specs for a box for this sub so can you guys help me out please?
