so i was on my way to work and i was subbing as usual..when i got the scent of like something burning..i really dont have the slighest idea of what it is but i can only compare it to like plastic burning..i noticed it only smelled when the bass is hitting low notes..so i get to work..8 hrs later..im leaving work and start subbing again, it plays about 10 seconds of the song and the sub goes out! and this was about 1 hour ago..so im pissed! i have no idea whats going on..everything is working fine except the sub..all lights indicate everything is good..do i need to recone it?? im not very knowledgeable with these audio systems! please help! this is my set up 1 18" fi btl 1…

Hey, So I got a 15" Q D2 right now and just sold my crappy amp. I'm planning to get either the SAZ 1000D or a SAE 1200D. Which would be better if eventually I will get another 15" Q D2?

ok today i was playing my woofer while driving for about 1 hr. after i got home and parked, i went to the rear and touched the dust cap of the woofer and it felt warm. i was wondering if this is normal and is there anything i should be worried about? my d2 18" bl is being ran on a kicker 1200.1 @ 1 ohm. head unit gains are set to 0 and amp gain is about 40% turned up and bass boost aswell. woofer is in a 9 cube ported box tuned to 32 hz.

just crusin didnt even make it off my street sub up like half way.. sub cuts out, amps not in protect, no sound whatsoever out of the sub... pull out the DMM.. 2.1 ohms resistance at the wires out the sub (my dual 1 BTL in series) ok.. sub is not blown? set to voltage.. check the outputs on the amp got fluctuation in voltage with music on, unplug the RCAs voltlage stops fluctuating.. so i figure I'm getting signal from the amp, from the headunit, to the sub... where the hell is my problem I'm stumped.. Hi yea i just got my 15" BL.... Thank you Fi Audio for a nice and fast delivery.... Now my question is, for anyone who owns one of these u kno how heavy that thing is so i wanna kno what kinda screws should i use or bolts, i dont wanna use basic screws i feel that this sub will just break them like toothpicks.... first off i have an 18" fi q with the bp power option and a hifonics 1610d amp. its in a focus, and it will b in a 7 cubic foot box hopefully, but my question is that i want to use pvc ports instead of the normal slot port, i used the winisd program, but either im an idiot, or its really hard to use. i put in my t-s parameters for the q and then i set it to 7 cubic feet and put the tuning at 28 hz. then i changed the porting to round and put in that i wanted to use 2 4" ports. it says they need to be 9.25" each. is there nebody out there that can check that for me to make sure its correct? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

Might be a dumb question but whatever I'm very new in box design and I did search but it wasn't easy describing this in a search. I have a box now THE's set up for 1 12" FI BTL tuned to 32hz mounted in my tunk facing the rear of my trunk. Box cu ft now with 1 sub counting displacment and vent is 3.75. I was thinking of installing a second one on the oppisite side of the box firing inside the cabin.... My question is: Will the sub work correctly and sound good this way? With a second sub including displacemnt the cu ft. would by 3.57 so according to specs thats slightly above the low end size for 2 FI BTL's correct? I know that posted t/s paremeters on ficaraudio.com are for the stock BTL with no options. would it be possible to get the t/s params for the common fully loaded BTL built for daily music? Just curious to see how it changes, and I know you guys will always say stick to recommended box design, but it would still help me to have the t/s params.

Hey guys im wondering if anyone has any dementions for a box or can set one up for me for my car i use the BL for DD and the box needs to be 37inches or smaller in width and 18inches or smaller in hight, doesnt matter depth. Does any one have dementions to i can build a slot ported box, im too busy to even set up all the hertz or know the specs for a box for this sub so can you guys help me out please?

it was making a popping sound a few days ago. then yesterday it happened the coil broke from the cone. im going to try in glue it back witch glue should i use ?

ok, gonna be fun fitting this in my grand am. removed the double fold backseat. and plan on put a box running all the way from the trunk to behind the driver seat here are some plans for the box its about 9-10 cubic ft right now. questions? shape dosent matter dose it? do u think ill need some more support? how big should i make the port?

Ok go easy on me fellas. For the past 4 or 5 months my Bl 18 has been in a wooden box without paint or any covering. So Saturday I decided to paint my box. So I painted the box black. Then I wanted to get creative. So I chose my colors to be black and gold. I tried to paint my dustcap but I messed up and now I need another one, but I was wondering if I could get my new dust cap in my custom color. Now this is a thread made for helping not talking down on. My sub works fine the dust cap just looks like crap. Oh yeah I already admitted my mistake and learned from it. Please offer advise and don't state the obvious.

ok so I have an old style 18" BTL w/ pchamf, hixmax coil, and 3rd mag.. i want to upgrade and have 2 18" BTLs but as you know they do not offer those options any more and Fi will not make me one with those options, already spoke to them.. if I buy a new style BTL with the newer motor and put it in the same box with my current BTL would that be ok? how will it sound if any one has done it ? and will i damage my sub? hey guys, if i tuned a box to 26.5 hz would it hurt the sub? ik fi recommends 28 but i like it a little lower than it is now. so im gonna build a new box, and tune it to 26.5 if u think it would b ok. ne help would b great. thanx.

I was wondering if this box would be big enough for two 15" fi btls. The box is 38 length X 25 width X 23 height. After displacemnt of everything its around 7.5 cubes at 31hz. The port is 6 wide and 25.5 long. It would be for daily use and each ran a sundown 3000d. thanks for the help

So, i hate to be one of those bums that asks for help on designing a box. (help?? who am i kidding, i need full assistance) I have a Fi BTL 18 just sitting here teasing me while i earn my money for a refurbished SAZ 3000d. i thought as i was waiting, i might as well build the box. Space should not be an issue, i want this box to built for performance. It will be used for daily use. So my question is, what would you do? From my understandings, tuning at 32hz seems to be the mostly desired tuning frequency. Alternator and batteries are all taken care of, just down to the box.
