What's the best way to solder the tinsel leads onto the terminals with these new recones that have the leads coming out of the spiders. There are 4 lead wires for each positive and each negative. I think its obvious I won't be able to fit them through the ring on the terminal, so how should they be soldered? Should some slack be left?

Im ordering a 15 Q soon and am going to start on my box for it. I was messing with re box calculator and having a few problems getting the right size, i have limited space in the trunk of my civic. I am going to run it ported at around 32hz and would like to get as much cubic feet as i can out of my trunk, any help would be appreciated. Box can not be wider than 34 inches, can not be taller than 16 inches, and can not be deeper than 18 inches, any help would be a appreciated. How much does the slug only, on the new BTL weigh? Also, how is the top plate and t-yoke manufactured? Is it milled, molded, cast?

I just read about this sub at audiojunkies. I've got a pair of AA Atlases running free air in my little creampuff, a 94 Olds Cutlass Cierra. I'm thinking of replacing them with these. Any thoughts? I'm going back & forth between using 2 15" IB3's & 1 18" IB3, but am a little concerned about their output between 50-80hz. I'm going to use 8" pro audio midbass in my doors, but from what I've read they shouldn't be crossed lower than 80hz. Does anyone have any input they can give me on the IB3 line playing these higher frequencies?

Would I be able to get a machined compression plug for my RE XXX v3 motor on my next recone to help with cooling? Will it negatively affect performance?

i need some help designing a box i have a 1999 explorer xlt 4 door i am running a 18"btl fully loaded daily on a fusion nv2500 my current box is 19h 24w 33d outside dim. with 2 6" pvc ports 15" long. ports and sub firing at hatch. i want to fire sub up and port back and change to a 30x30x16tall any help on port LxWxH would be grate!also any other input just looking to change up i was told sub up port back would be louder.

So I unrapped my new toys today and put them in. But I want to make sure that I don't need to remove this bolt covering the pole. I'm thinking it's just there for shipping so nothing gets in, but no book = no idea. Great looking sub, and I'm happy. Perhaps someone could save the Fi guys some time and make up a generic 2 page book or something. You know like people always like to ask "where's the mounting holes" and now I'm asking about the allen bolt. etc. etc.

I want it to be on the bigger side so it has better output. Anyone got a layout?

Hello, This is my first time building a box. I would like to hear any thoughts you might have before I get to building. I just recently purchased 2x FI Q 12's dual 1's with cooling, and spider. I designed a box for a 2002 gmc envoy. These subs will be pushed by a Crescendo BC2000D. (May eventually upgrade to a 3500 or 2x 2000's). Box is 5.0 cu ft and is tuned around 32hz. Heres what I came up with. My main concern is if I did the port length correctly and if I calculated the bracing displacement correctly.

I am planning on ordering a 12" Q sometime soon. I have the design for a 6th order parallel bandpass enclosure. Tuning is 2.5 cu ft @ 32Hz and 0.590 cu ft @ 74Hz. My Q will have the cooling option so it will have somewhere around 12-1500 rms. I will be powering this by my SAZ-1500d @ 1 ohm. This is going into my 2000 Celica. My question is do you guys think I need the extra spider? The price is not my concern (just $5 difference). But I heard this option takes away from SQ, but I also heard that if you go over rated power on the Q, you need to add an extra spider. IF i do get the extra spider, how big of a difference in the change of SQ? Any input helps

Hi, I found another thread where FI can recone a 3hp to a 18" for me, I found the price. I'm just curious as to what soft parts would be used to recone(as in what lines it would come from) or what parts in general(how many spiders etc, stiffness.) And do you beleive that the reconed 3hp would be good for 2500rms daily?? thanks, Joe I need the end load to be 2 ohm..so either 4 ohm dvc, or 1 ohm dvc.

i need some help on how to set my amp to my new FI BL 15... its 1500 rms amp... i know to turn my bass boost all the way down, and to set my subsonic filter 2 or 3 seeting below my box tuning. but. im still pretty much oblivious to the settings for my new sub... can somone help me out with some opinions? would be very helpful.

Hey I tried doing a search...I kept getting an error anyone know the specs on a TC7 motor?? I am probably going to buy one because of a good deal on it. What size coil does it fit?? Will a standard 12 spoke basket fit it???

i have 2 12inch BTL's and was wonderin what the best cuft and hz would sound the best. i listen to lots of rap and like my music low and loud. also how much sq in of port should i have?? should it be a port for each speaker or can it just be a big port in the middle?? i have a drawing that i like but it isnt tuned right. i'll try to get a pic up of it. if someone would like to email me or pm me my email is [email protected]. any help would greatly be apreciated. also someone was tryin to tell me that btl's are not good daily drivers that they wouldnt sound very good...any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Well i asked quite awhile back what i should tune to if i wanted a loud daily listener, and most people stated 33-35 hz. It turns out that the box i've made is 34.97xx, so i just want the final word from people before i seal up the box and have to live with it. I mainly listen to rock and rap, and want it to be loud, but won't be visiting a TL anytime soon. Edit: Sub: 18" Bl. Box: 6.3 cu ft, tuned to 34.97xx. amp: would love sundown, but may have to settle for a bxi2006d (which would be alright for me, just would prefer the sundown)

Making another request for dimensions for Q 10. Trying to determine if a Q10 will fit within an existing enclosure I designed and built using different subs.

What is the Induct Heat Ring and what is its pros/cons?

So is a 3.9^3 box too big for a single Btl N2 12" on a Saz-2500? I know that the spec sheets say 1.75-2.5 cubed. It was professionally designed and the person who designed it says that it still falls within the thermal/mechanical specs for this sub, so they dont understand why i am questioning its size. I don't want to damage the sub with over excursion though, so any input would be great. Thanks!

i need to order a recone and basket for my MT motor..and ive heard statements on both sides of my question. does the BTL coil fit in the MT gap?

Wheres the BP option when buying the 12 SSD? Is it not offered any more?
