I want to buy Q 10's. I am looking at ported box specs and there is a pretty wide range. I am looking for flat response and good SQ with a punch. I listen to metal and rap mostly depending on the day. They will each get 1000 watts in the trunk of Grand Prix. i was looking to do 28.75 sq inches of port for both, will that be enough, or will i benefit from upping it to 31.625

i have 2 15 qs and i was planning on putting them in a 08 honda accord, any suggestions on whut box to throw them in, ported?sealed? really not sure on whut direction to go with this

Ok I am about 10-11 months from buying a 2009 Mini Cooper S (waiting because I will pay cash) so I have started my plan for the low end. I have a 10" BL on the way and plan to run it of of a Fosgate 25 to life Punch 150 (birthsheet states >800w rms) I want to keep the box small but want good bottom end I am looking at around .5- .7 ft^ Has anyone run the BL in a small box like that? Any problems or chalenges? I can go larger if need be as the car will not be a grocery chaser but my commuter car BUT I want to still have space in the tiny trunk area for the times the wife and I need to put something back there. I have a pair of 10" BL's and chose the SPL option when I bought them. I had no intentions of playing music with them, but now I wonder if they'll handle playing music for a short period of time. I was thinking of trying Bass Race in Db Drags next season but don't want to have to buy new subs in order to do it. Does anyone know if these subs with the SPL option will handle music for 30 seconds at a time at full power?

I have a 94 Ford Lightning and currently have a Alpine CDA-9883, Kicker KS components,4 gauge wiring, 12" L7 and Hifonics 1508D amp. Im wanting to get as much bass possible out of a single cab truck without cutting my truck up. So im looking into the BTL 12".Should I go fully loaded? I will be playing this sub everyday. At 1st I will have it running off my Hifonics amp putting out 1500rms at 1ohm. Do I need the dual 1 or 2 ohm to run it at 1ohm load? Then when I get some more money ill get a better amp. I have 1.0 cubic feet before displacement and it is a sealed box. I am wondering will I be able to get a 12" in there with adding polyfill and make it sound good or should I stick with the 10". I will have a sundown sae1000d powering either one.

EVERYTHING is double baffled 3/4in. mdf . Hey guys, Mr. Noob with here with another question again.......I am putting in binding posts to replace the terminal cups in my sub box cuz all my wiring is 8 gauge and the cups do not accomadate 8g wire. Plus I always go "OVERKILL" for peace of mind. When talking to Mike of Zenclosures(guy that made my box and he's GREAT guy like Scott is by the way), he said I could just use silicone to seal the new posts. I've seen people here talk about caulking so which is better? Or is silicone adequate? Enquiring minds want to know????????????????

Hey guys, sorry if this subject has been brought up in the past. Search engine is not working well for me. I am getting a 15" IB being built for me and want to mount it properly. I am going the T-nut route but do not know what size screws to get? 1/4in enough for 3/8? I dont even know what size the holes are in the sub frame. thanks for your help! Ralph

I have always done sealed boxes before and I ordered a 10 inch dual 2 ohm bl and am struggling with the port dimensions. Different programs I use come up with different numbers. The recommended dimensions are 1.2 cuft with 15 inches of port. I am assuming thats 15 square inches. I have the room for width of 16 inches wide by 13 inches tall and 19 inches deep outside dimensions. Which according to my calculations using 3/4 inch wood is 1.97 cuft. But I only need 1.2 cuft. The 13 inches is the most important measurement. I don't want to go higher or lower than that. The depth of 19 inches is what I want to shrink the most and I only want to go 15 inches wide at the n…

im running 2 bl 18s off 2 saz-1500ds now, subs up, port back. I got guy that wants to buy my subs possibly, so im looking at other options. How would 4 ssd18's take the 2 saz-1500ds? Would they get enough power? thanks

I just read about this sub at audiojunkies. I've got a pair of AA Atlases running free air in my little creampuff, a 94 Olds Cutlass Cierra. I'm thinking of replacing them with these. Any thoughts? for some strange reason my system hits the hardest when my box is angled like this in my trunk.. Less rattles and everything its almost as if my car pressurizes itself and it doesn't rattle or I just don't hear it..

Hey i have a fi q 15 dual 2 and i have it in a ported box about 3.25 cubes tuned to 33hz and i wanna try to make a 4th order bass reflex box but i havent the slightest idea how to make one. i know its more math but i havent found a how to go on how to make the and which formulas to use to calculate the box sizes and ports. Im pretty good at car audio but i just need to get pointed in the right driection on how to make it. A local car audio installer whos a wizard with boxes is trying to teach me how to make one but he is just too busy right now to help me with my box.

What I'm looking for is the loudest possiblw set up that I can get with an honest 1400 watts @1 ohm available. I can build a box any size I need to, so that's not an issue. It's going in a mini-van so I've got plenty of room. He's trying to do better than his current setup of 2 AA Arsenal 12's in a ported box (tuned around 32-35Hz). My initial thoughts were 2 SSD18's w/dual 2 Ohm vc's in a ported box, but I'm looking for advice from someone from Fi. Once the drivers are chosen, I'll need help with box dimensions. TIA, Carl.

First post guys, so please bear with me... I'm looking at a 12" Q for my sealed enclosure. Here's the thing, I've got an enclosure that's .88 cu.ft. I did the search and came up with what seems to be a optimum 1.2 to 1.3 cu. ft. Here's the question, how will this driver respond in the .88 sealed with 750w rms? Thanks guys.

I just hooked up my brand new fi ssd 12 dual 1 ohm sub and hooked it up to a kicker zx750.1 amp and put it in a 2.5 cu ft box tuned to 33 hz. i turned the gain 1/2 way and bass boost to 9db. When i turn the head unit up the sub starts to smell like its burning glue or something. any ideas?

So there is someone selling a blown 15" icon and i was thinking of picking it up. I was wondering if I could recone it with Q coils and put it in a 3 cu fu. @ 32 Hz? Would this work or am i just thinking to crazy? also how much would a 15" Q recone cost to 94803? thanks
