Hey everyone. I'm in need of some plans for a ported enclosure for two 12" Fi SSDs (with copper coils if it matters). This will be my first box build...but I'm confident I can make a nice quality box. I'm just having some trouble coming up with some plans. Does anybody have some drawn up I can use for reference? Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Here's some info you all might need: I want the width to be 44 inches. It's going in the back of my FJ Cruiser and I am trying to build something like this: This picture shows what the actual box looks like: The width in the back is about 45 inches. So I think a 44 inch box would fit nicely like his. I'm mostly looking for…

I am going to be building a new box for my 15 inch q because my current one is a little too big. The dimensions I am working with are 14high, 32 long, 20 inches deep. I am having a hard time understanding what size slot port would it take for this box to be tuned to 33hz. Since I will be going with sub up+port up, the port can be either 30.5 or 18.5 inches long(depending on if make it long ways , or short ways) but how wide, and long should it be? (would like to face them back but they will be too close to the back of the trunk....I can also face them forward). Also, current box is 14x32x24 tuned to 33hz....will I see a huge decrease in output with this smaller box?

I have a 2004 F150 super crew. I dont want a blow through and I am thinking about taking out the middle rear seat and putting a center consoled 15" there. I currently have 2 10" Qs under the back seat but I wanna go louder so I need someone to help me design something width needs to be 17" - 17 1/2". and height there is plenty of room id like to keep it under 30" and there is enough depth for 30". Iv been messing around on the rockford boxwizard and im looking at possibly a wedge type design with a flat on the back top of the box with aero ports and then the front facing sub.

Would 1 10" bl with cooling and flatwind coil in a 1.4 cuft box tuned to 32hz be louder than 2 10" ssds in a 1.8 cuft Tuned to 33hz? Also what would be the ideal port area for the ssds if I put them in a box with two ports? Thanks

Hi, i've been passive for a few months right now. My last system was one 15 btl dual 2 on two RF t20001bds @ 2 ohms with few kinetiks and 300 amp alt. I think of adding another btl 15 but keep the amps, one btl strapped to 1 ohm and one t20001 @ 1 ohms per sub. Do you think this would hit harder or should i just recone the current btl to dual 1 to use the full power of the amps.... Patrick

  11. I plan on building the enclosure per Fi's specs of 1.5 ft @33hz. The dimensions I have come up with is 14.5" x 14.5" x 18" using3/4" MDF this gives me 1.4937ft after subtracting the woofer and material displacement. I can add to the 14.5" sections of the enclosure if need be to account for port displacement. I'm not familiar with how to calculate port displacement though so I'll need some help on that as well. I planned on mounting the sub on the 14.5" X 18" side and would also prefer to have the port on that side as well. I just want to make sure that I get this right. I'm looking for maximum SQ but still want to have good output. It will be powered by 550w/rms in a PT …

I've gone through almost 20 pages of this forum and still not sure exactly how I should build a box. I've got a general idea, done some research, but I'm hearing/reading different things. I plan on purchasing a fully loaded 18" BTL very soon, but want to get the box out of the way first. My max dimensions I'm working with are, 39" Wide, 20" height, and 24" depth. I want it to be sub up, port back. This is going in the rear of a Nissan Pathfinder. I'm also wanting to get it tuned to around 32-33hz, that's where I'm having trouble. After sub displacement, and a port tuned to that frequency, how much cubic feet would the box be if it was built to those max specs? Just from a…

I was just wondering if pictures and/or cut sheets would ever be available on the forum. At the very bottom of the Pinned BTL Enclosure Recommendations Thread it says that "Pictures and cut sheets for some enclosures [are] coming soon," however that has been up for many months now and I was wondering if they would ever be up. I just got my 12'' BTL reconed and am wanting a more simple design this time for my box, however I have not found any actual standard recommended designs posted up by Fi, and was just wondering if they would ever be made available. Thanks

  16. I'm looking to redo my wall for my BTL 18s. I'm currently using a Cactus 5kw, running it at .7. My electrical consists of a 200amp alt, XS d3400 under the hood and a d3100 in the trunk. I'll be adding a second d3100 during the rebuild of the wall. How big would you guys go for the amount of power I'm using? My current wall is 14 cubes (after displacement), 35hz tune, with 192" of port. The design was bad, hence why I'm redoing it. It's only doing a 151.5 at the headrest with the passenger door wide open. The way I have the port and subs I'm having some phase issues and I think I can get much louder then I am. This is just for daily driving with some competing on the side…

Well I am gonna be going for my first recone attempt. It will be a BTL. I am feeling pretty confident but have a couple of questions. First thing How do I properly clean all the excess stuff from the original BTL. Like the surround on the basket and where the spider is glued down at. I was told just a heat gun to get it loosen up so I can just pull it all off? Second I hear alot of people talk about the "Triple joint" and how well that is glued. What is the triple joint? Also I am confused on how to properly "shim" it. Is it that the shim alligns it properly so that it doesnt rub? If so that means the paper shim is only making like a hairline gap? And wheres the best pl…

I ordered 2 15" fi btl subs I also already have 2 rf t40001bd amps.. I was curious if everyone thinks I should just use one of the amps for both subs (each amp would have its own sub) or if 1 amp should be enough for both subs.. Any help is much appreciated

so, i got an enclosure built for my 12" BTL (single slug motor) but the magnet refuses to fit into the cutout. i was wondering what the cutout diameter would make it fit. i can't trim the cutout because its only enough for the cutout itself since the box is 14"H with only .25" clearance on the top and bottom.
