Im going to put a 10" bl under my rear seats and need to know if it will fit. My box is going to measure 7.5" in height and the bottom of the seat is 9.5" tall. Is 2" enough room for the excursion of the bl? If not should i use 5/8" MDF or 1/2" MDF

i have 2 12inch BTL's and was wonderin what the best cuft and hz would sound the best. i listen to lots of rap and like my music low and loud. also how much sq in of port should i have?? should it be a port for each speaker or can it just be a big port in the middle?? i have a drawing that i like but it isnt tuned right. i'll try to get a pic up of it. if someone would like to email me or pm me my email is [email protected]. any help would greatly be apreciated. also someone was tryin to tell me that btl's are not good daily drivers that they wouldnt sound very good...any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I was wondering how much it would cost and if it could be done. I want to turn my 18" btl into a twelve. Can I just buy a basket and recone or will the motor need tooling? thanks for any help.

I am going to be building a box for my 2 15" btl fully loaded, I am curious wat of the two would be the best and how big should i cut/make the port, Also let me know if I mite need to make the box a lil bigger. ( i am also using 3/4 inch mdf) And should I have a baffle in between the subs or would one large box be best? Box 1 height 19" width 39.5" depth 23" Box 2 height 16" width 39" depth 35" Any help would be appreciated.

are there any differences in the 08 and the 09 BL models? i would love to add another 15 but concerned about putting two different subs in the same box, are they any different to the point where you couldnt put them together in the same box?

In another fourm Im being told I need to change my tuning frequency from 32hz to around 60hz. Im running a FI q 12 d2 with a Crossfire VR 1000d. It would be for outlaw spl only not daily. FI doesnt recommend going outside of there suggestions, could any harm be done to my sub by tuning it this high ? Would there be any gains ?

Well my mojos are starting to suck...blew a coil actually. And now its time to upgrade to BTLs I'm stuck between 2 15s or 2 18s Here is the scenario: The ports will be outside the box. I am going to use these ports... Deal Breaker for 15s: the only practical option is to use 1 of those ports for 8 cubes Fi recommends 12 - 16 square inches of port per cube 8cuft x 12 = 96 8cuft x 16 = 144 So about 96-144 sq inches recommended. that port is only 70 sq in. I was interested in the AA Carbon fiber mids. will they fit in a 6x8 space? Do they have an adapter ring. Plus do they come with a passive crossover and tweets... 12" BL D2 Daily Flatwind Cooling @ ~1200RMS. 2.25cuft @ 32Hz. Just wondering what the subsonic filter is recommended to be set at. Right now it hits all the lows with ease when set at ~25Hz. (Soundstream TRX1500D)

I have 2 D2 18inch Btl's and 2 SAZ 3000ds I need to know how to wire the subs down 2 ohm, because i'm strapping the amps together.

so i want to keep as much of my trunk as possible, so what im woundering is. My old box was like a perfect square, if the new box is the same cubic feet, but more rectangle than square so it will stay in the rear of my trunk. How will that effect the sound?

Looking at the BTL SPL vs Daily Option.. I would like to use a pair of 15"s mainly for SPL competitions, BUT i would like to squeeze JUST a song or two out of them every once in a while.. They are not to be used as daily play subs.. my question is, would i be able to get away with playing music for a short while with them, with the SPL option, or would i be better off using taking the daily option instead.. thanks

I'm thinking about buying 2x FI 12ssd's and was wondering what amp would be the best choice for these subs?

My enclosure is built at 2.5 cuft, my current port area is 10x4x21, tuned to 39 hz, I want to change this so its tuned to 32 and I would need to add 14 in in length, unfortunatly not possible. So I looked into it and I could change my port to 10x3x25, what will I lose(or gain) by changing the port area ?

Need help with deciding on building enclosure for (2) 15" FI BTL. Going for ~36hz This is the amount of room i would like to use: Width = 36" (Max width due to wheel.) Height = 24" Depth = 22" Would be sound better if the sub face up or sub face back. Also the same question apply to the port. All of this is going inside a SUV. What are your recommendation for the port? If the above measurement are small, please give me some recommendation. I would like to keep the box small but also sound good.

Hy, I need help with my new box, as the topic title says. My car is a Mazda3 hatchback; the sub-amplifier is USAmps XT4000.1 (on it`s box it says "CEA" ), I don`t know if my version is overrated or will provide 1500W@1ohm. I want my Fi to play loud, and as low as hell . I`m thinking at a box tuned at 28-30hz. Can anyone help me with a project? I`ll measure my trunk and i`ll post here the max. possible lengths for the box. PS: I`m gonna use the stock HU with a MTX Re-Q sound procesor...

Ok so on the 10, 15, and 18" bl the fs for both the d1 and d2 are the same, but on the 12 d1 is 35.2 and d2 is 39.8hz. I was wondering if that was a misprint or if someone knew the reason it was so different. I wanted a 12 d2 for daily but that fs seems kind of high especially when im used to the lows of my q...

How do these dimensions look for my Fi Q12 d1 Box outside diameter after using 3/4" MDF: Box: 33.5 x 14.5 x 12 Port: 1.5 x 13 x 16.5 This should give me 2.53 ft3 (before taking away sub/port displacement) and be tuned to ~32 Hz. I have been using website like the12volt.com and a couple others. I tried the RE enclosure app, but I think it is a little off. Not too sure. I appreciate any help! If this box looks off, what would be better? Thanks.

ok built my enclosure, 40w x 15d x 10h external dimensions w/ 3/4 mdf port is 10h x 4w x 21l im getting different answers on cu ft, what did i end up with when all is said and done ? ive been out of this for so long i feel like an idiot with all the questions, but you guys are a really great help. I'm probably going to order my Fi SSD 12in this Friday, and was wondering which coil to go with. It will be hooked up to a Kicker ZX750.1. And I read somewhere, that these can be somewhere between 900-950 watts RMS at 2 ohms. So would the Flatwind Coil be the best to go with.

Not at the same time! I have two boxes built for my single 12BL. (D2, loaded, daily) One is 2.5cuft @ 32. Slot port. Homemade The other is 2.0cuft @ 32. Kerfed port. PTS They are both designed around the 12BL t/a parameters. Two questions. Is the BTL a substantial upgrade from the BL? Could I use the 12BTL in the same box which was designed for the 12BL?

I kind of started a post in the wrong area for BTL box questions. But I am looking at getting a 15" BTL sometime soon. I do have somewhat limited trunk space though (40x40x20). I would like maybe a little of extra room in the trunk for putting somethings (ie bags, books, backpacks, skating equipment etc). Can it be done to get the same boom / sound quality with a smaller box? I know on my other post, somebody said it was possible to make a little smaller box with biger ports to even the difference out. But how far can you take it? Like (I know you couldnt but...) making a box that only acted as a brace for the sub and maybe have some sort of diminishing cone around the s…
