I have a 94 Ford Lightning and currently have a Alpine CDA-9883, Kicker KS components,4 gauge wiring, 12" L7 and Hifonics 1508D amp. Im wanting to get as much bass possible out of a single cab truck without cutting my truck up. So im looking into the BTL 12".Should I go fully loaded? I will be playing this sub everyday. At 1st I will have it running off my Hifonics amp putting out 1500rms at 1ohm. Do I need the dual 1 or 2 ohm to run it at 1ohm load? Then when I get some more money ill get a better amp. How much power can a fully loaded BTL 12" take daily? Im thinking about the Power Acoustik BAMF 5500 amp putting out 3200rms at 1 ohm. The biggest box I can fit in my tru…

Does any1 have a 12" Q in a sealed around 1 cubic feet? I want to know if the q will get loud in a sealed. Im thinking of replacing my 2 JL 10W7 with 1 12" Q or maybe I should just power 1 JL 10w7. The 2 w7s take up my whole trunk and i just want to get some of my trunk back. I have enough to put a Q in a sealed enclosure but have around 1.5-1.7 cubic feet for ported. My amp does around 800-900 watts at 4 ohms or 1600watts at 1 ohms so dual 2 ohms it is. Should I just keep 1 of my jl 10w7 and port it? Will that sound close to a 12 Q sealed?

I have 1.0 cubic feet before displacement and it is a sealed box. I am wondering will I be able to get a 12" in there with adding polyfill and make it sound good or should I stick with the 10". I will have a sundown sae1000d powering either one.

hey guys , i recently ordered 2 15 Q's , am going to run them off of a single SAZ-1500D , with 1500rms to both subs. i want to build the box before the subs get here , and had to ask for advice i noticed on the Fi website that the recommended size for each Q15 is 2-2.6 CF. i can give each 2.5CF . will i get good lows? will i lose anything? not enough power to them? im not planning a LOUD LOUD system .. just loud and clear;) thanks. Eli.

Ok so here's the deal. This is my wall design for my two 18in. fully loaded btls that will be running 3000rms a piece. I have never done a wall build before so I'm hoping i somewhat got it. EVERYTHING is double baffled 3/4in. mdf . In the 1st picture showing the front plate it looks double baffled its only supposed to be single " which i just fixed and im to lazy to take and upload another picture" due to the fact that there will be another front vanity plate to go around the curves in the car all nice and snugly. The box is , 15.7341 ft³ BEFORE DISPLACEMENT 15.2141 ft* after sub displacement displacement port is 6 inches in height width is 29.224 in…

i currently have 2 12" Fi Q's in a monochambered enclosure tuned to 32hz for maximum SQ but no amps from what people have told me (2x) sundown sae-1000d should be perfect but my question is... if both subs run 1000 rms each, would it be better running (2x) 1000 watt amps or (2x) 1500 watt amps??????????? also, which amps would be ideal if money wasnt an issue? preferably brand name and specific model. thanks a MILLION!!! NOW HELP ME BUILD MY DREAM SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I'm wondering if the Q is the right choice for me now. Roughly how much power will a fully loaded Q handle? I plan on running the 1500D at 1 ohm, so I suppose around 1600W. Thanks, Trevor

Hi, I currently have the SSD's w/ copper coil in about a cube sealed. My buddy had a box, 3.5 @ 32hz I believe, that he said I could use if I needed. Would that box be good for the SSD's or will it be too small? I could use the slight bump in output, unless the box is too small.

Can a BL 15 with flatwind coil, and p. chamfer take 1000 watts or so rms for an hour or so at a time, and 1700 watts rms for spl burps? Or does the sub need the cooling option? In 3 ft3 enclosure tuned to 48hz.

Would a 15" Q dual2 work decently in a 2.3 cubic foot @ 30hz enclosure? Would having a driver in a smaller ported box offer the same benifit as having it in a smaller sealed box as in increasing its power handling? As I have a USAmps MD.1D which is rated at 1200@1ohm but I believe it is slightly underrated.

Hey i have a fi q 15 dual 2 and i have it in a ported box about 3.25 cubes tuned to 33hz and i wanna try to make a 4th order bass reflex box but i havent the slightest idea how to make one. i know its more math but i havent found a how to go on how to make the and which formulas to use to calculate the box sizes and ports. Im pretty good at car audio but i just need to get pointed in the right driection on how to make it. A local car audio installer whos a wizard with boxes is trying to teach me how to make one but he is just too busy right now to help me with my box.

I know a guy selling a BTL motor, he said it was custom machined for 1.4 ohm coils, this sub could only be reconed to 1.4 VC's correct? And would I have to order a custum recone kit for it being it is an unstandard 1.4 VC vs the standard 2 ohm or 1 ohm vc's?
