I have a box design in mind (i just need a car to see if it will fit or not) which has two either 15 or 18 inch (depending on available room) BTL's or BL's. I am not sure though if these subs are designed to be able to share a box together. I was originally going to run just a single BTL 18" in a 7 or 7.5 cu/ft box, but i wanted a more good looking design, so, as an example, are you able to run two BTL's in a box of volume 14-16 cu/ft? Or the equivalent volume of the BL's? I'll try to draw what i want it to look like on a CAD program or something, but i would like to know if it possible first before i start buying materials. Thanks

I recently bought a 15' Bl and had a enclosure in mind. The enclosures dimensions would fit inside my car, so I went ahead and bought the 15' Bl with the cooling option. It arrived a few days ago and I was super siked. Then I realized how would I get this box into my 99' Grand Am GT. The box will not fit. (This one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...=1218009774927). Now I'm in a pickle. I have found another box that is ported, that i think will fit in my car. It is on the small side as far as cubic feet wise though. link to it --->http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9026797&st=15+in&lp=4&type=product&cp=1&id=1218009790168 Will th…

Well I just had a box made for my 15" BTL and they kinda messed up...first they made the woofer hole facing up and the ports facing up also....do the ports facing away from cabin sound louder? Also i found out that the box is tuned to around 29hz....how will that sound?????? Will it sound good..will it be loud most also? I listen to mostly all rap just to let people know (i know rap sounds better in different boxes hz wise)...The box is around 4cuft also just to throw that out there. Help is much appreciated thank you. Here's some pics. Inside...one of the ports.

Hey guys, i am looking for a box design and was hoping one of ya could help me out. Its for 2 18" BL's powered off one rf t3000 going in a tahoe. I would like the dimensions no bigger than 28x48x22 if possible for daily driving tuned around 32hz subs up port back. I really dont trust myself designing one, but i guess thats one way to learn. Any help is appreciated.

I had a box designed by chris at fishercustoms, and here is what he came up with: The total Net volume came out to be 1.8cu ft exactly, a 1.74" x 14" port tuned to 33hz, 13.53 sq in of port per cu ft, and I have a couple questions: 1. Is that too small for a 12" Fi Q? They do recommend a minimum of 1.8, but i'm worried this box won't make it sound good because the net volume is too small. 2. What happens if the box is too small? 3. Whats the difference between having a larger box versus a smaller box? Like having a 2.2 versus 1.8? Most of the videos I see online of this sub have a box larger than 2.2 cu ft, and their car is basically falling apart. Any help would be gr…

  11. hey all i just ordered my first fi btl 18 . i choose all the options that were availible for it so i guess it is fully loaded right? anyways my real question is how THE heck am im going to fit two in my civic ? i know most might say i prob shoulda thought of that first but i will find a way to make them fit . my best idea yet was to actually take out back seats and extend the trunk into the car so when you look into he trunk it looks like its reall deep. than build THE box into the trunk extension . basicly you would open the trunk and the woofers would sit right were the back of the seat was originaly and the box would be ported on the inside behind driver and passenger…

Alright so I am trying to build a box for a Fi Car audio Q 12" woofer. They recommend I build a box using 1.8-2.5 cubic feet @ 28-33Hz (32hz tuning is optimal, and has the most output and is still the most musical daily driving), and to use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume. I am talking to Chris at fishercustoms, and he is helping me design a box. I was using the RE Enclosure Calculator, and I'm not sure what he uses. I gave him my max specs, 23" long x 15.5" wide x 16" high, and he came up with: 1.8 cu ft, 33 hz, 1.74" x 14" port ( 13.53 sq in vent area per cu ft) When i put those dimensions into the RE ported enclosure Calculator, i got: 2.068 c…

I recently just ordered me two 18" fi btl fully loaded and im selling my 18" q's to my buddy. What I need is a good box design for my btl's. My maximum measurements for the btl's box is 49"x20"x29". i currently have aero ports for my q's and im wanting to do a single chamber with a big slot port, subs up port back. And i also need a box design for my buddys setup, max measurements of 40"x26"x26", with the same idea as my box. so if there is anyone with ideas, let me know please. thanks

I've been trying to decide for weeks what i wanted to do for an audio set up. Im pretty sure i have it figured out. Im thinking about ordering it all today or tomorow, so i could use some fast help. Im getting the sundown 1000d and 1 12'' FI sub, i would go fifteen but i don't think i could fit it. I'm stuck between the FI ssd, or fi bl. I listen to mainly rap, and heavy metal(alot of double kicks and what not) so its a daily sub. I like boomy deep bass, i don't care so much about higher notes but the better one could hit them the better. I was also wanting to ask about enclosure suggestions, im not too worried about loosing all my space in the back, but if possible i wan…

Hello, i'm looking at getting a Fi Audio 12" SSD sub. So I was wondering if a square port of 29.25 is alright? My box is 2.1 @ 33Hz. Thats after all displacements. I haven't build a ported box before, so i'm learning how to.

I have 4 fully loaded 18 btls in a 20cuft ported enclosure..dual 1 ohm subs.. I have the option of using 1 or 2 jbl a6000 amps to power them. My installer thinks that using both amps will blow the subs. He hooked up both amps and said the woofers started smelling. When he used 1 he said it was actually louder. I think he may be trying to save me from replacing subs over and over. Will using both of theses amps eventually blow the subs? If I get 2 more and put 3 on each amp will it see a 4 ohm mono load...something like the JL w7s? Thanks for any help

I am running 2 FI BL 18's in about 15.5 cubes after sub and port tuned to 32hz. It sounds awesome for daily and really picks up the lows. I have about 200 square inches of port also. I did 147.3 db on TL first time, then a 152.4 on an audiocontrol meter saturday. Now, I was told I should make my box around 10 cubes after sub and port and tune to 35 or 36hz and it would probably meter better and still pick up the lows. Does this sound right or do you have any suggestions? Oh yeah, I am running 2 sundown audio saz-1500d's strapped on them now. Would it matter with a slot port or are aero's better? thanks for any help

For some reason outside of my power my 08 Bl with cooling caught fire. I was on my way home from work about an hour and a half ago, i smelt something kinda like burning leaves so I turned the radio off and pulled over and opened the hatch of my jimmy and the sub was on fire. I could see this bcuz there is aplexiglass window on the front of my box... I have no idea how or why it did this, it was on fire at the spider btw. The amp wasn't warm nor the wires... The amp isa sundown saz 1500d. 0g wire, 12g speaker wire. Itwas only playing for about 5 min when it all happened. I think the warrenty is still in effect, but I'm not sure if that is even covered. The gains are all se…

  25. Well here it is. A freind got a new 18inch btl, and he was throughing out his 10. I figure, since I have some left over LN from a computer cool, I would design a box and have LN cooling the sub. Yes this will involve some major work on modifying the sub. This ever been done ?, I just want to run 8000rms to it. And not have er burn. This is my first post aswell, and ill be ordering some subs later on . I figure if I vaporize the LN and have blowing through the sub, that it atleast not kill it for 10 seconds of playing. Crazy or worth a experiment ?
