whatup folks. i am going to run a second battery in my car i know that 0gauge is the best but can i get away with 2gauge? i already have the whole car wired with phoenix gold pos and neg 2 gauge. would hate to have to buy all new wire if i dont have too. i am only running us amps 400, and esxq404 four channel amp with soon to be ssd 12's with copper coils. im thinking this would be okay but im not sure never ran two batteries before. sorry for all these questions but i m just now realizing that as loud as my systems have been i could get more out of them since ive found forums like this to help. thanks for any help you guys can give.

Would a 15" Q dual2 work decently in a 2.3 cubic foot @ 30hz enclosure? Would having a driver in a smaller ported box offer the same benifit as having it in a smaller sealed box as in increasing its power handling? As I have a USAmps MD.1D which is rated at 1200@1ohm but I believe it is slightly underrated.

Hi, I currently have the SSD's w/ copper coil in about a cube sealed. My buddy had a box, 3.5 @ 32hz I believe, that he said I could use if I needed. Would that box be good for the SSD's or will it be too small? I could use the slight bump in output, unless the box is too small.

I was wangin my ssd the other day and it was wangin hard, loud just like fi should then i turned it off went inside and about 2 or so hours later i went back out there was about to leave and the sub or amp just didnt pound like it did before. It just wasnt as loud and didnt vibrate my whole car like it did before. I think it might be the amp, but im not quite sure. I figure it might be a connection problem or somethin, but i checked all that and no problems. Thanks Mike

I know a guy selling a BTL motor, he said it was custom machined for 1.4 ohm coils, this sub could only be reconed to 1.4 VC's correct? And would I have to order a custum recone kit for it being it is an unstandard 1.4 VC vs the standard 2 ohm or 1 ohm vc's?

  11. Ok I've been trying to get my subs reconed for about three weeks now, I already know that they wont be covered under warranty because I overpowered them, but i have the money to get them fixed so if someone that works for fi could send me some info to get me on the right track, i would greatly appreciate it. Subs are:( 2) FI Q 15's D1 w/ BP power. THanks

I need help on how to fix my torn surround. Can I get a replacement from Fi and repair it myself or do I have to send it in? Is there a proven way to fix a tear in a foam surround other than shoe goo? Also, can you determine the options a sub has without tearing the speaker apart? Thanx guys.

I have a 12" bl and and I recently built a new box for it. I noticed some what of a clicking sound coming from the sub. At first I just thought it was something rattling in the back of my car but today I went to check it out and noticed it was coming from the sub. It only seems to do it on the low notes and it doesn't do it every time either. I can't seem to figure out what or why it is making that sound.

Ok, so I'm wondering if the Q is the right choice for me now. Roughly how much power will a fully loaded Q handle? I plan on running the 1500D at 1 ohm, so I suppose around 1600W. Thanks, Trevor

Hi. Im from Romania and i bought 8 or 9 months ago a FI Q 12''. As far as i know there are 2 speakers sent in Romania A FI Q 12 AND A 15. OK i have a little big problem with my fi q 12 sub. the spider has unsticked , or broked , from the center of VC or how is called in english and that makes the sub scratch if i play music. i stopped the music since that day cuz even if i slowly hit with my finger the surface is does pack pack !!! oufull sound. and... i expected more from Fi ... i never tought it will broke. by the way the voice coils are intact. tHE power that the sub recieved was 900 w/ 1 ohm . thanks ... i hope u can help me. http://img76.imageshack.us/my.php?image…

I was wondering if 11.25 net tuned to 31hz and 166.25 square inches of port is too much for 4 fully loaded 12 inch BL subs running off of 6,000 watts of power?

i currently have 2 12" Fi Q's in a monochambered enclosure tuned to 32hz for maximum SQ but no amps from what people have told me (2x) sundown sae-1000d should be perfect but my question is... if both subs run 1000 rms each, would it be better running (2x) 1000 watt amps or (2x) 1500 watt amps??????????? also, which amps would be ideal if money wasnt an issue? preferably brand name and specific model. thanks a MILLION!!! NOW HELP ME BUILD MY DREAM SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since the board was wiped out not many old posts to search through. Joining the FI ranks and picking up a 15" Q for the GF's car. Trunk space is important to her so I'm looking at doing: 2.8 -3.0^3 @ 31Hz. Sub will be getting around 1000rms off a PG amp. She listens to most anything but country, so I'm looking for an all around good sounding/respectably loud set up. The few posts I've found most guys are using around 3.5^3, so anyone have experience with this sub in the smallest recommended size of 2.8^3? TIA...Mike
