Does anyone have plans for a ported box for a Fi 15" Q? It will be in the back of my 06 impala. I can post the dimensions of my trunk later, but any help would be awesome. I was looking for something tuned around 30-35 hz. Basically, I want something thats gonna really make my Q slam because all I really listen to is rap. Thanks.

I am going to build a box for a 12" bl or a q. My interior box volume (after subtracting speaker displacement) is 2.1 cu. ft. What kind of port and what dimensions do you guys think I should use . I haven't decided which sub I'm gonna buy yet. Also feel free to leave some feedback on the two subs (is there really a huge sq loss with the bl or is there a substantial bass level loss with the q)

I know a guy selling a BTL motor, he said it was custom machined for 1.4 ohm coils, this sub could only be reconed to 1.4 VC's correct? And would I have to order a custum recone kit for it being it is an unstandard 1.4 VC vs the standard 2 ohm or 1 ohm vc's?

I have the basics for this box already, but I need to know if I need any bracing (if so, what kind) or any other tweaking. Also the sub is facing up, does it matter where I place the sub? (closest to the port opening or furthest away) Box is 24x30x15.5 Port Width is 3.9" Volume a little under 4^3 (after displacement) Tuned a bit above 30hz Thanks

I've seen where eveyone says speaker terminals suck, so whats the best one to use? And if its bolt terminal, do i just put a hole in the mdf and put a 3/8" bolt through it? How do i hook the wires to it on each side? I realize this is probably about as noob as it gets too, but i mentioned big 3 to one of the big 'audio' shops around here, and they looked at me like i was an idiot for thinking there was such a thing (i'm saying this just to show you i have noone to learn from in the local area haha). Thanks

Hello, there are two Fi Q10d2 and the amplifier DC 5.0K, in 0,5 Ohms, Xs power d1200+d3400 accumulators (44Ah and 65Ah). Advise the optimum volume and the port area under this system? Palaniry to begin with 48 liters pure and port in 250 squares, tune to of 36-38 Hz and reducing to have a look at changes. The car, Ford Focus 2 a hatch-back, the purpose to receive is more than figures on music. Thanks in advance for councils and comments. I am sorry for my English))

Ok, so I'm wondering if the Q is the right choice for me now. Roughly how much power will a fully loaded Q handle? I plan on running the 1500D at 1 ohm, so I suppose around 1600W. Thanks, Trevor

I am needing box plans for a FI.Q 12. I know I could probably go out and buy one, but I would rather build it myself. I am planning on making 1.3 cubes like recomended as optimal. I don't want just a square box though. I would like it to be 4 sided with a little slope in the front. I'm sure you know what I am talking about, I hope. Anyway if you could tell me the size height, depth1(bottom), depth2(top), width, and angle that the slopes on the front usually are, I would appreciate it very much.

I'm needing some advice on a box design for a 18" btl (old style) going in the back of a 1996 gmc suburban. Its a daily driver (no competitions) and Im looking for decent sound quality while hitting low and hard. I listen to mostly rap music and a little r & b. Not sure which way I should face the sub or the port or any of the box details to best suit my needs. Space should not be a issue since its going in suburban. Here are some other details about the install. Hi, I currently have the SSD's w/ copper coil in about a cube sealed. My buddy had a box, 3.5 @ 32hz I believe, that he said I could use if I needed. Would that box be good for the SSD's or will it be too small? I could use the slight bump in output, unless the box is too small.

Well i asked quite awhile back what i should tune to if i wanted a loud daily listener, and most people stated 33-35 hz. It turns out that the box i've made is 34.97xx, so i just want the final word from people before i seal up the box and have to live with it. I mainly listen to rock and rap, and want it to be loud, but won't be visiting a TL anytime soon. Edit: Sub: 18" Bl. Box: 6.3 cu ft, tuned to 34.97xx. amp: would love sundown, but may have to settle for a bxi2006d (which would be alright for me, just would prefer the sundown)

I'm putting a Q10 in a sealed box and am looking for a good size for SQ. The website recommends .2 to .6 cu ft. I should have 1000 watts @2Ohms available. Would a larger or smaller box lend itself to better SQ. Thanks.

For my Alero trunk I'm eventually going to buy a BTL 18 D2 with daily/all options. This is the cheapest & loudest daily setup I can think of and I've drawn up a shizload of boxes. I want lots of bass but don't want to shell out for a huge amp, alt, and batts. Power will be maximum 2000-2200 watts @ 1ohm unless I can borrow a huge amp for burps if having 1 fully charged battery will git-r-done. I will buy 1 battery and upgrade the alt if I have to but nothing crazy. RE Enclosure Calculator 1" MDF with 1" double baffle and no other bracing besides rabbit joints which I still am not sure if to use .25". 37 width x 28.72 depth (29.72 with baffle) x 20.5 height Displacemen…

I had a box designed by chris at fishercustoms, and here is what he came up with: The total Net volume came out to be 1.8cu ft exactly, a 1.74" x 14" port tuned to 33hz, 13.53 sq in of port per cu ft, and I have a couple questions: 1. Is that too small for a 12" Fi Q? They do recommend a minimum of 1.8, but i'm worried this box won't make it sound good because the net volume is too small. 2. What happens if the box is too small? 3. Whats the difference between having a larger box versus a smaller box? Like having a 2.2 versus 1.8? Most of the videos I see online of this sub have a box larger than 2.2 cu ft, and their car is basically falling apart. Any help would be gr…

I kind of started a post in the wrong area for BTL box questions. But I am looking at getting a 15" BTL sometime soon. I do have somewhat limited trunk space though (40x40x20). I would like maybe a little of extra room in the trunk for putting somethings (ie bags, books, backpacks, skating equipment etc). Can it be done to get the same boom / sound quality with a smaller box? I know on my other post, somebody said it was possible to make a little smaller box with biger ports to even the difference out. But how far can you take it? Like (I know you couldnt but...) making a box that only acted as a brace for the sub and maybe have some sort of diminishing cone around the s…

Hi, sorry to cross post. I just put this in the wrong section the first time... Would love to have a bigger box, but space is LIMITED. No divider between subs/ subs share air space Single Slot Port is 15.5" x 3" and 14.75" long (around 32 hz?) Subs will be down firing and port will face up. Definitely SPL Questions: 1- Are the port dimensions correct for a 32 hz tune? I keep getting different measurements depending on the port calc I use. In another fourm Im being told I need to change my tuning frequency from 32hz to around 60hz. Im running a FI q 12 d2 with a Crossfire VR 1000d. It would be for outlaw spl only not daily. FI doesnt recommend going outside of there suggestions, could any harm be done to my sub by tuning it this high ? Would there be any gains ?
