  7. ok, I'm about to attempt to build my first enclosure for Fi Q 12. 1.9ft ^3 tuned 30hz. Where can I get demensions and what items do I need. Such as brands of glue, type of screws, etc. If I Take mesurements to Home Depo, Will they cut the pieces for me? Is it difficult to make a Enclosure, I read that its pretty easy.

Hi all. I'm about to order a btl 15 d2 with cooling, I heat ring, and high Xmax coil. I have a hifonics bxi2010d. I came up with this box design, but I want to make sure I haven't overlooked anything important. Will I get port noise or any other bad stuff? Its for the trunk of a 97 ford thunderbird. With the current design I have, the box would be lying with the port and the sub facing up toward the rear deck. I could change the dimensions slightly, any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. EDIT: link to image was broken

i will be buying 3 12" q's in the future with the bp option but was wondering what VC comes in these, the site just simply says 3" 4 layer coil. is this a flat coil, or a copper coil or what, i was reading the coil options listed and it would seem to me that a copper coil would be best in this with it being a SQ orriented sub, but correct me if i am wrong. Will be running these off a Sundown 3000d on a daily set up that will see comps ocassionally wired in a series/parallel combination to right at 1 ohm. FI guys prefered on replies as i am looking at thier view point being that i know they know thier products better than no one else. no offense to anyone else there so pl…

Guys Prob havent post for over a year now, thats because I have kept all my things in the closet and lost touch about car audio while playing mafia wars LOL. My question are: i. How long does a sub magnet stays magnetize? In my place 33c-35c is considered a normal sunny day. ii. Does heat from the sun + heat from playing music will effect the magnet strength? iii. Does keeping the sub in the closet (its bare and I didnt put it in the box) will have other effects like rust, deterioration of rubber, spider getting weaker etc? Btw I own 2 15Q's which I bought back in 2007

Looking to build new system. Planing on using a Memphis 2500 watt amp to each sub. This system will be mostly for SPL but also some daily listening. Will be using 10" or 12" subs. Just wondering which Fi sub would work best. Will start with 2 subs but move to 3 at a later time and maybe a Memphis Mojo 4kw to each also.

I have two Fi X 12's and the tensil leads slap really bad. I have about 450watts on each.. i know the RMS is 300 watts.. but the sub is still putting out clean sound other than the leads... i noticed that the tensil's aren't aligned with the pad on the back of the cone. if i were to relocate the pads do you think this would solve the problem? THANKS

Right now I'm in the middle of my build with 2 18" BL's with a Trutech Hammer H1 per sub in a 16cuft wall tuned to 30hz. After this I'm pondering changing to two BTL 18's with a DDZ1. Just wondering would it be worth it in terms of being a major leap over the BL's and the Hammers ?

  19. currently have 2 18" bl's off a kx2500.1 @ 1 ohm. birthsheet states ~3kw @ 2 ohms. here is my post copied from ca.com "currently they are sitting in 11.5 cubes or so tuned to about 35hz. output is pretty good but still not quite where i want it to be. seems like with my ammount of power they should be louder, especially for 2 18's. the only thing i can think of is box volume being on the small side. i was told by the FI guys that 5.5-6 cubes would be fine with my power, but im having doubts now. im thinking of sacrificing my rear seats and build the box to take up the whole cargo area but still be at/under the window line. this would give me a chit load more room to work …

  21. To figure out the square inches of port area needed per cubic ft of volume, do I just multiply the vent width by vent length? And then I just take that number and divide it by how many cubic ft the box is? This is what I'm just guessing as I'm not sure of this. Please help.

  22. over a year ago i purchased my 2 fi btl n2 15's fully loaded, and because i waited 4 months to get em, i didnt wanna wait to install, so i went to a local shop to have a box built and installed, it was supposed to cost around 500, but ended up being 800 when i left, a few months later i got into a small fender bender and the box fell just fell appart, i took it back for repairs and they said the could do it for 100, so i did it annnnd, nothing was really fixed except they just re positioned it, it has been un hooked after the alternator they sold me died, i and just gave up at that point. recently i have decided to rebuild and everything with the help of my uncle cause i …
