Foreward fire in a trunk, which of these three boxes are better. The smaller the box the closer the back of the box is from the back of the sub. All are from RE's box calculator. Each box has 16 square inches of port per cubic foot, the first two are off by -.003- & +.008 sq in. The box is 23-26 deep, is that bad for dampening? How far should the back of the magnet be from the box? 2 Fi BTL 12" 4-6kw @ 1ohm 2.46 cubic feet each @ 34.75 HZ with 78.75 square inches of port, box face is 17 x 37. Hello, I recently purchased an Fi Q 10" and have it in a .6^3ft sealed box (Before displacement). I am running it off an Alphasonik PMA1200D @ 4ohms (approx. 1200 watts) and I notice that the output seems to be really low and kind of dissapointing. It seems to get any real output the gains have to be turned very high along with the bass boost (which of course in not what you want to do). At this point I am not sure if I should try it in a ported enclosure or if something could be wrong with my amp perhaps. Has anyone else had any of these issues? Any suggestions? Thanks, Jim

can anybody help me with box design? i was just gonna make a box similar to the one i have in my escape for the ssd 12's but i kinda want something a little better. i listen to every type of music from bass music to jazz to rock. so the box would have to be versitile. the twelves only have copper coil option. i need help because the space is limited. i have a huge trunk but for some reason benz decided that was also a good place for the gas tank and spare. i am thinking that the port(s) should face up through the space in the rear deck that will be cutout. i have two sets of max measurements because one way the box would have to partially cover my amp and the other way it…

I was wondering if you could send me the exact dimensions, that would be the best for the 12" BTL that I just bought from you tuned to 32HZ? The biggest size box that fits in the trunk of my Chrysler 300 is 32"wide by 35"long by 15"tall, that is the biggest size box that we can fit in there. If you could help me out that would be great. This is the exact sub that I bought: BTL12 Ohm: dual 1 P_Chamfer: no Cooling: yes +$40 3rdMagnet: yes +$30 HiXmCoil: yes +$20 Daily_or_SPL: Daily Inner_H_Sink: not available Universal: yes

Without going over my windows and taking the whole back up, i have 40" D x 46" W x 22" H, which is 11.8 cubes gross, will that be enough for 2 BL 18's? It says to use 5-10 cubes each, thats a wide range, i guess depending on power to them mostly. I will be running 2 saz1500d's strapped to them. I have more room than that if needed, just want to leave a little space for batteries and amps.

I found this box on woofersetc.com the dimensions are: * 12" Single Ported Box * Height: 15" * Width: 30.5" * Depth: 15" * Mounting Depth: 11" * 3/4" MDF Construction * Volume: 3.00 cu. ft. And I wanted to know if this would be a good box for the fully loaded 12" BTL sub? Thanks for any responses.

I'm going atleast a 7cuft box tuned to somewhat 30-35hzt range. I'm building my own box and the subs aren't here yet. According to UPS the subs weigh in at 54lbs each. I'm simply asking if i should double baffle the box?

Any reason my first SSD with D1 copper coils suspension is way looser than my newer one which is about a month older? I know there would be a difference because of the break in period and that eventually the new one would soften up slightly to sit like the old one but the newer one has a firmer suspension as oppose my old one and worries me that it may be a possible problem with my old sub. I got the first sub in february and the second one in march and have beating on them since day one but the second seems to have a better suspension than the old one? Please let me know what the deal is?

a friend wants a fi q 18" in a blow through box in his S10. my thought was to build a box in the bed with a collar of linexed MDF into the cab. once i have the box built then i would build another box over it to span the distance of the bed rails and help weather proof the box in the bed. a ZX1500.1 will be his amp with a 220A mechman alt and a XS 2500 battery. he mostly listens to chilly peppers, some techno, basically what ever pandora throws on. to that end i think the sub might do well tuned a tad higher than 32 but what are your thoughts? is there anything that most people over look when building a blow through?

I have 4 fully loaded 18 btls in a 20cuft ported enclosure..dual 1 ohm subs.. I have the option of using 1 or 2 jbl a6000 amps to power them. My installer thinks that using both amps will blow the subs. He hooked up both amps and said the woofers started smelling. When he used 1 he said it was actually louder. I think he may be trying to save me from replacing subs over and over. Will using both of theses amps eventually blow the subs? If I get 2 more and put 3 on each amp will it see a 4 ohm mono load...something like the JL w7s? Thanks for any help

***FIRST*** I have a 15" fully loaded btl. the box its in is pretty big its 5 cubes. it has dual ports with sub and ports firing forward. i think the ports together is 80 sq inshes of port. the speaker is centered in the box with the ports on the ends of each side. just curious but would a box of the same size with a single port with sub in center or on the end with both firing forward be louder or the same. my video is posted on you tube and people are telling me it would be louder with a single port then dual. ***SECOND*** i am running mt btl with stock electrical alt, battery , and chitty 4 guage wire. no big 3. i have a ssl soundstorm 4000.1 mono amp. i have heard th…

I would like to keep the enclosure as small as possible but within an optimal spec. What is the recommended enclosure size for my setup? Thanks edit change of plans

I am going to be building a new box for my 15 inch q because my current one is a little too big. The dimensions I am working with are 14high, 32 long, 20 inches deep. I am having a hard time understanding what size slot port would it take for this box to be tuned to 33hz. Since I will be going with sub up+port up, the port can be either 30.5 or 18.5 inches long(depending on if make it long ways , or short ways) but how wide, and long should it be? (would like to face them back but they will be too close to the back of the trunk....I can also face them forward). Also, current box is 14x32x24 tuned to 33hz....will I see a huge decrease in output with this smaller box?

Does the cooling option effect the performance of the sub? like does it make the sub quieter or anything? i read the flatwound coil makes a sub prone to peak so what does the cooling option do?

Well I've finally decided to stop being lazy and put my BL in my truck but I ran into a problem while figuring out the port length. I have a 12" BL and I want to put it in a 2.5^2 ft. box tuned to 32 Hz. To do this with 2 4" aero ports they are gonna have to be about 24" I would just do slotted but since the box has to be slanted down on the top and up on the bottom I'm not sure how that would work. So I'm wondering if i could just use one 4" aero or if there are any other thing I can do to make this work. Thanks
