Box is for a FI BL 12 in a Dodge Stratus. I went with a 28Hz tuning for more SQ over SPL. Im looking at buying a Fi BL 15, im going to run it off a 1700 rms amp. i dont know what opions should i get. i was looking at the 4" coil. i think that makes it 1500 watts rms i heard but im still undecided. little more opinons would be helpful.

how much airspace would you guys reccomend for 4 x Q 18's in a sealed wall?

Well I've finally decided to stop being lazy and put my BL in my truck but I ran into a problem while figuring out the port length. I have a 12" BL and I want to put it in a 2.5^2 ft. box tuned to 32 Hz. To do this with 2 4" aero ports they are gonna have to be about 24" I would just do slotted but since the box has to be slanted down on the top and up on the bottom I'm not sure how that would work. So I'm wondering if i could just use one 4" aero or if there are any other thing I can do to make this work. Thanks

Ok, well i had no idea about tuning or anything when i made my first box. its 9.5 cubic ft with 90 in of port area, and i ran the port length till about the back of the box. ( pics soon). what i was wondering is can anyone provide me with the actual formula for calculating my port length. ( so i can just plug in hz volume and port area? ive got some calculators but like to see everything out. here is what im trying to accomplish by just cutting the box. 34 hz tuning 7.5 cubic ft 90in squared of port area if i my box in a 01 grand am running from my trunk to my back seat, with the btl right in the back seat and the port under it. if i put the port in the trunk would it mak…

I have 2 mono amplifiers of the same kind and I have a dual 2 ohm sub. Is it possible to put each voice coil to each amp without hurting sub?

im going to be buying a single 12" BL within the next week but i wanted to get started on building the box. its going to be powered by a hifonics bxi 1606d. i mostly listen to rap. i got these measurements set up. let me know what u guys think. as far as going bigger i really, cant limited by trunk space. its going in a 02 lancer. I have a Fi Bl 12" which is fully loaded and i need to build another box for it. I think my first one is not the correct dimensions for this speaker. Are there any good tutorials or even someone with a box design. I want to make one with 33Hz Thanks a lot Patrick

I just added the D1 copper coils to the SSD series. Previously the copper coils were available only in D2. The addition of the copper coils to the SSD subs adds a bit more SQ in some applications. It also allows the subs to play deeper in the same sized enclosures as the standard aluminum coiled SSDs, or have the same response curves in slightly smaller enclosures. Thanks... Scott

So, I ordered 2 SSD 12's last week, (currently have 2 Pioneer 307's in a ported box I made a while back) I was just wondering how to make a decent ported box for the new subs. Car is a 97 eclipse, and the dimensions I got were (15h x 36w x 20d inches) I might be able to go .5in more on the height and depth. Would the height of the port be 13.5in? What should the length and width be? I'm using BassBox 6 Pro but when I put in the info for the port it adds to the total volume of the enclosure which for some reason makes me think it is going to come out wrong when I build it. Any help will be appreciated. I'll be powering them with a RF P1200.2 Thanks.

look at the cooling channel around the one o'clock position, it isnt lined up but all the rest are! is this normal? if not any performance issues from this?? thanks

***FIRST*** I have a 15" fully loaded btl. the box its in is pretty big its 5 cubes. it has dual ports with sub and ports firing forward. i think the ports together is 80 sq inshes of port. the speaker is centered in the box with the ports on the ends of each side. just curious but would a box of the same size with a single port with sub in center or on the end with both firing forward be louder or the same. my video is posted on you tube and people are telling me it would be louder with a single port then dual. ***SECOND*** i am running mt btl with stock electrical alt, battery , and chitty 4 guage wire. no big 3. i have a ssl soundstorm 4000.1 mono amp. i have heard th…

I'm getting away from a ported box with my X 10" and going small sealed like .6ft^3. So what kind of power would get it rocking pretty good. I'm thinking around 300 but currently have 160 on it and love it. I want more sq and not so loud as ported. I love the sub and don't want a different one just different sound.

If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. I had somebody build me a box for my (2) 15" Q's but I think the Tuning is off. Can you tell me the Size and tuning of it? here are the dimensions. The box is: 35"x25"x25" The port is: 29"x23.5"x5.5" Thank you!

What's the smallest you think i could go with a BL 18. I'd probably wire down to 2 ohms and get about 1100 out of my amp if i went sealed. I've got some extra wood from the real box, and i thought that i could make a box to take up only one seat for when i want to take an extra person, but still have some sound. I don't see a ported working because i couldnt make the port big enough i dont think, maybe i'm wrong. Anybody ever sealed a BL 18? I doubt too many have, but what would it sound like? been searching for the measurments of trunk space in my park avenue and this is what pooped up Trunk Volume (ft³) 19.1... now im not sure if this is the informatin thats need to make a box for me.. help me please

about to drop in a pair of d2 bl 15's loaded for daily to replace my d1 q's (to go a little easier on my american bass vfl 200.1, thing smoked on me before and cost over 300 to fix) in 8.2 cubes @ 32 hz. was pushing the q's to their limits, about 1300 watts each, and raising the load to 1.4 ohms (3kw at 1 ohm) i'll probably be giving the bl's about the same power, maybe a tad more. can i expect the bl's to be louder across the board? will they still pick up the lows as well as the q's did or will i need more power to get that low end extension?

I got a 15"BL D2 w/ p chamber option running off a RF P1000-1BD (1382 rms@1ohm) in a Pound That Sound ported enclousre (3.0cf3 tuned @35hz) and i would say this is the best sounding/loudest sub i have EVER!!! gotten,, it still sounds amazing after pounding it very hard for a year now but i think its time for an upgrade... I want to buy 2 Fi BTL 18'' with 4000 to 5000 rms each. they will be in a 2006 ford F-150 in a "blow through" i still dont have any amps, i normally listen to music with low notes. some guy told me that if i order a sub with 5k i could not play it for more than 30 sec cause it would burn. would that be true. how much would a sub run of this type?

currently running a sundown saz1500 powering a fully loaded 12in fi bl in a 2.5 cu ft box tuned to 34 hz. I was recently at a local audio shop and had the main guy set my gains properly so i did no have any clipping. I was not very impressed with the outcome. As i come to find i had been running with clipping since day one and my system is now quieter. He told me to tune my box to 40-42hz and it would be louder. My question is how much louder? and will i still be able to play most rap music? What would be the lowest tone i could safely play?

I was wondering how much it would cost and if it could be done. I want to turn my 18" btl into a twelve. Can I just buy a basket and recone or will the motor need tooling? thanks for any help.

Any reason my first SSD with D1 copper coils suspension is way looser than my newer one which is about a month older? I know there would be a difference because of the break in period and that eventually the new one would soften up slightly to sit like the old one but the newer one has a firmer suspension as oppose my old one and worries me that it may be a possible problem with my old sub. I got the first sub in february and the second one in march and have beating on them since day one but the second seems to have a better suspension than the old one? Please let me know what the deal is?
