ok here goes we have the box made (except for the ports) it's 19.3 cuft after dis. for subs(3 18 btl fully loaded)and bracing, i still need to make the ports........just to give you guys an idea first i cant make just 1 large slot port would have to be 3 at most (med. size ports)and i would like to tune it around 33-35hz oh and the ports would be facing the same way as the subs it's somewhat of a wall/slant design any help would be highly appricated ............................. thanks ahead of time...........................

HOw would 2 15 inch Bl's or Q's sound in a T-line? would it get really loud?

I want to buy 2 Fi BTL 18'' with 4000 to 5000 rms each. they will be in a 2006 ford F-150 in a "blow through" i still dont have any amps, i normally listen to music with low notes. some guy told me that if i order a sub with 5k i could not play it for more than 30 sec cause it would burn. would that be true. how much would a sub run of this type?

currently running a sundown saz1500 powering a fully loaded 12in fi bl in a 2.5 cu ft box tuned to 34 hz. I was recently at a local audio shop and had the main guy set my gains properly so i did no have any clipping. I was not very impressed with the outcome. As i come to find i had been running with clipping since day one and my system is now quieter. He told me to tune my box to 40-42hz and it would be louder. My question is how much louder? and will i still be able to play most rap music? What would be the lowest tone i could safely play?

look at the cooling channel around the one o'clock position, it isnt lined up but all the rest are! is this normal? if not any performance issues from this?? thanks

I need to get my box done before my subs get here. So I need to know how deep to cut so the subs will be flush mounted. Does anyone have that info or have a bl to check for me. Thanks

how much max RMS watts can a 18" fully loaded BTL N2 handle ?? i was wondering if i can run a 2400 watt RMS hifonics amp to it ?? also will a 6 cubic feet box ported to 35 hz sound good ??

Well I've finally decided to stop being lazy and put my BL in my truck but I ran into a problem while figuring out the port length. I have a 12" BL and I want to put it in a 2.5^2 ft. box tuned to 32 Hz. To do this with 2 4" aero ports they are gonna have to be about 24" I would just do slotted but since the box has to be slanted down on the top and up on the bottom I'm not sure how that would work. So I'm wondering if i could just use one 4" aero or if there are any other thing I can do to make this work. Thanks

Without going over my windows and taking the whole back up, i have 40" D x 46" W x 22" H, which is 11.8 cubes gross, will that be enough for 2 BL 18's? It says to use 5-10 cubes each, thats a wide range, i guess depending on power to them mostly. I will be running 2 saz1500d's strapped to them. I have more room than that if needed, just want to leave a little space for batteries and amps.

I have a 12'' Q dual 2 ohm and it will be wired down to one ohm. I have a hifonics bxi1208d powering it. I wanna make sure i get my settings right on my amp. Where should i set the SSF at and the low pass at? Also since my HU has 4 volt output, should i set my level to 4 volt? As for the box, what hz should i have it tuned to. I listen to mainly rap and deathmetal...yeah i know complete opposites haha any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

I bought 2 12" SSD 2 ohm DVC subwoofers about 4 months months ago. I finally finished the fiberglass box three days ago. Anyways, I'm using the Sundown Audio Mono 1500W rms amp, and as my cousin and I were looking over it we realized that there was no possible way to get two 2 Ohm DVC subs down to one ohm with that set up. We'd have to do 2ohms which would only be giving me half the power from that amp. My question is, what can I do about it? I emailed [email protected] 2 days ago and I haven't gotten a response so I was hoping the forums would be a little faster. Is there any way that I could ship the subwoofers back to you guys and get the dual voice coils changed to…

how much airspace would you guys reccomend for 4 x Q 18's in a sealed wall?

Well, we just slopped together a set up for this years nopi nationals in atlanta. It was 3 kicker CVR 12's in a partitioned sealed box feeding each sub 2.4 square feet, and also 3 kicker CVR 10's in a partitioned box feeding each about 1.6 square feet. They were stacked and put in the back of a 98' Durango no extra battery, not even another cap. Powered it by 2 Crunch Powerzone 1000W 2 channels. We ran the stock USAC 1801-3001 class, and did well. Hit 141.2SPL at 56Hz beating several guys running memphis 15's. Regardless, we are gearing up for next year to be much bigger and louder. What's the smallest you think i could go with a BL 18. I'd probably wire down to 2 ohms and get about 1100 out of my amp if i went sealed. I've got some extra wood from the real box, and i thought that i could make a box to take up only one seat for when i want to take an extra person, but still have some sound. I don't see a ported working because i couldnt make the port big enough i dont think, maybe i'm wrong. Anybody ever sealed a BL 18? I doubt too many have, but what would it sound like? i was just thinking(usually dangerous) i have an amp that is1200 @2ohms mono, 600per channel@1ohm. presently i have dvc4 woofers if i hook them up the regular way i get 4ohm or 1ohm mono. i have been reading that some people hook an amp to both voice coils so each amp i guess would see 4 ohms off each coil, right? now heres the crazy part; shouldnt i be able to take the + - off one coil on one speaker then the + - off the other put them together on one channel and get 1 ohm? then do the same for the other coils and get the same for the other channel, now all four coils are running off two channels thus giving the amp its 1ohm per channel? . is this possible or am i thin…

I just added the D1 copper coils to the SSD series. Previously the copper coils were available only in D2. The addition of the copper coils to the SSD subs adds a bit more SQ in some applications. It also allows the subs to play deeper in the same sized enclosures as the standard aluminum coiled SSDs, or have the same response curves in slightly smaller enclosures. Thanks... Scott

Looking for some help designing a new box for my sub. I listen to a lot of rock/metal, but I do like rap and would like to be pretty loud. Any help with sub placement, volume, what to tune it to would be great. also it is in a blazer. As of now its in a sealed box around 2.6 cube with a Hifonics 1208d and i know it has so much more potential. Thanks and if any other info is need please let me know

Any reason my first SSD with D1 copper coils suspension is way looser than my newer one which is about a month older? I know there would be a difference because of the break in period and that eventually the new one would soften up slightly to sit like the old one but the newer one has a firmer suspension as oppose my old one and worries me that it may be a possible problem with my old sub. I got the first sub in february and the second one in march and have beating on them since day one but the second seems to have a better suspension than the old one? Please let me know what the deal is?

Before anything, how much power will a Q with BP cooling handle, if gains are set properly, no audible clipping, etc.? Okay, first off, the SSD should be louder then the Q, IN THEORY (disregard the box and everything), due to it's higher sensitivity, correct? Second, the SSD is known to be heavy on the low end bass, but a bit lacking in the higher freqs. How does the Q do? Will the Q slam as hard as the SSD? In other words, will the Q reach that ass-dragging low bass that rap music is typical of? Hey guys, bottom line is i have designed a few enclosures and they sucked. I'm not so bad on the building part, just the calculating port length and area and volume and stuff. I have a 15Q and was wondering if someone could design me a box of around i dunno 3-4cubes tuned to like 30-33hz. My trunk limits the box to be like 16-16.5 inches tall (otherwise it won't slide in) and uhh yeah thats the only real limitation. Thanks in advance.

I have a Fi Bl 12" which is fully loaded and i need to build another box for it. I think my first one is not the correct dimensions for this speaker. Are there any good tutorials or even someone with a box design. I want to make one with 33Hz Thanks a lot Patrick

Its almost time and Planning has started. I still need to find out if I can make a slot port work if not maybe two square or even aero ports. Suppose will have to do some maths and cross-checks. Draft box (not to scale) Let me know what you think.

currently i have a 12" BL in a 2.5 cuft enclosure tuned to 32hz. it is being powered by a "1600" watt hifonics amp (soon to be a sundown saz-1500d). i LOVE how the sub takes on the task of playing songs such as hypnotize, white girl, etc... however when i slap in a cd of something other than rap... there is little bass, if any at all. would changing what my enclosure is tuned to give more response on kickdrums and the like? what i am looking for is something in between the notes in rap and the notes from kickdrums,etc... from other genres. thanks in advance for any all and suggestions
