I am running 3 Fi Q15's. The box is 10.2cuft internal after port and sub displacement. The port is 5" x 28.5" and 26.25" long. Is that a proper amount of port area? That should put my tuning right around 32hz.

I haven't ever designed a ported box before, but I did alot of reading and sat here for a few hours and came up with a design for my enclosure. You guys wanna check and see if I did it correctly? will be using 3/4" MDF. Outer dimensions: 29.5" width 15" height 15" depth Inner dimensions: 28" width 13.5" height 13.5" depth Volume = 28 * 13.5 * 13.5 = 5103 cubic inches convert that to cu.ft 5103 / 1728 = 2.95 cu.ft before sub/port displacement Port dimensions (which I hope are correct): 2" width 13.5" height 20.53" length Port volume = 2 * 13.5 * 20.53 = 554.31 cu.in convert to cu.ft 554.31 / 1728 = .32 cu.ft so... 2.95 minus .32 minus .15 (sub displacement) = 2.48 cu.ft I…

Well I have a sundown 1200d I will be running 1 10 or 1 12 off of. This is going in a custom fiberglass box going under the seat in a 09 ram. I have alittle more than 7" mounting depth but as of right now only about .83 cuft of volume. I'm looking to extend that to around 1.0 cu feet if possible( and if I don't get the 10"). I have set myself on a fi sub but i'm not sure if is should go 10 or 12. This will be in a sealed box. I'm looking at the ssd and q series. For the 10" i'm actually over the recommended box volume already (.6 cuft). And for the 12 i'm alittle short (.8 cuft). What are your thoughts on what I should do?

Question What is the highest and lowest tuning that you all know of for the differnet series of the Fi lineup? AA would also be considered. Personally I would be most concerened with 18s and 15s I currently have 1 15" BTL dual mag in 3.8CF and tuned to 35hz Many people including myself (surprise) are really impressed by the output of this sub/enclosure combo I however have realised that (to know surprise) the cabinet is not capable of playing the lowest notes. Really needing more airspace for lower simpler tuning abilities, the box is great for "most people" and say a "rocker" type listener. Now since I myself am a rocker, Staind, Linkin Park, Korn, come to mind mo…

Did the guys at Fi re-evalutate the SP4 and change the RMS from 2500 to 3000 watts, or did they redesign it to increase RMS?

I want another t-line in my truck. I had a dd 9515g, it didn't hold up. I will have 3kw on hand. What options on the 08 model BTL would get where i want to be with suspension, cooling, and power handling, as well as x max........If a combination of stiff spiders was needed then that would be ok as well. I just don't really know how well they will handle this type of application. It a 2006 nissan frontier(the big ones) xtra cab so i have a decent amount of room as my backseats are removed. advice will be appreciated. Jason

My tahoe was rear ended a 2 weeks ago destroying my BL 18s. I had just purchased a RF T2500-1 and im awaiting my second. I have an Avalanche now and i want to run 3 dual 1-ohm BL 15s. My question is will the two 2500s be too much power for the BLs? Also, is there any problem wiring the subs in a "single voice coil per amp" setup, ie: 3 subs, 1 voice coil on one amp, one on the other?? Im kinda new at do-it-yourself car audio when it comes to complex wiring, so any help or advice, good or bad, is welcome.

does anyone know a phone number or something to contact fi about a question? ive tried emailing and it didn't work, they ignored me. i ordered a fi q 18" about a month and half ago and i noticed it had a black basket instead of gray, then i ordered another one a couple weeks ago and it had the gray basket and many differences. and just over a week of having the newest one, there is a popping noise coming from the sub as if its starting to go bad already. any comments just let me know....thanks.

Well, I've been looking to start my first real system, and I found a really good deal on these 2 subs. They are the 1ohm 12" Q's. I am pretty newbish and was wondering what configuration would be best (I would guess just wiring them for 1ohm final), and what amps would be good options to push these? Im still in highschool with a part time job so my budget is a little tight (but feel free to say what you think, I can save up if need be). Many thanks, Ben

Ok I got 2 18" Qs in a 12 cu. box at 28 hz. I know thats just barely the minimum for them, but thats the most I can go. I was wondering if I switched to a sealed box around 13.6 cu. would be more appropriate for these woofers. I havent heard what a Q sounds like sealed before so I was just some opinions on what you guys think. The box would also have bracing inside, so after displacement it would be around 13 cu. Let me know thanks ps..... the woofers would be facing towards the back

Hi, I am currently having someone build me a box and they are looking for a cut-out template to cut the hole for the woofer. I gave him the cutout diameter but he wants a template to be sure. I can't seem to find one on the website. Do Fi offer one?

I have 10 foot of it to go from the box to the amp, and while I haven't seen the sub yet, I'm having a hard time seeing 8 gauge in a 1ohm configuration on the coils. Will it fit? Or should I use 12 gauge for inside the box? (This isn't really a question about power...I already have 10 foot of 8 gauge so it's more availability. I'd have to go buy anything but the 8 which I have)

I was considering a trade for 2 BTL 15s ( Single slug, spaceship motor), but the subs only have the cooling option. I am going from 4 SA-12s, and I like my lows. I'm powering them with 2 Audiopipe AP3ks. I was gonna run them in 3.5 per (7net), and tune between 30-33hz. I listen to alot of rap, low bass music, and I really want to be able to play in the high 20s/low 30s with authority. With just cooling, will these 15s be able to produce like I want them to? I'm only getting rid of the SAs to do a forward firing/sealed off setup, and I can't get 4 12s to fit in a blowthrough. I also wanted to see what FI was all about Thanks for any help

FI website says 5-10 cubes is the recommendation. i will have 1500w on tap and am wondering, what is the difference between the 5 cube box and the 10 cube box. obviously the 10 cube box will be more efficient etc etc. but im more concerned with whether 5 cubes is really going to be enough for an 18? most people build 8 cube+. biggest i can get is 5.5 to 6 cubes, is that size box really enough? anyone with particular experience with this would be especially welcome.

Hi all! I have a 2004 Dodge Ram Quad cab. These things are impossible for trying to put in subs without pulling out seats and all kinds of stuff (not interested in). Found a guy who makes a specific "molded" box that goes underneath the rear seats. I really want to go with the Fi Q 12", heard really good things about the Q's and I prefer 12's over 10's for the notes they hit. However, this box has a single chamber totalling 1.8ft^3 in a sealed setup for a 12". Will the .9 - displacement per sub be enough to adequately run? How much polyfil should I use? He also makes a 10" vented @ 36hz and 10" sealed. The airspace would be the same as the above box. Would it rea…
