Hi, need some blueprints for my 15 inch fi btl fully loaded. it is feeded with aprox. 3 kw. the enclosure is used for spl competitions only, perhabs a flared port is the better choice. The woofer is going in a 1990 volkswagen golf mk2 and the car peaks at 52-55 hz. I'm of course ready to pay for the blueprint. The max width is 37 inch, feel free to the rest, it doesnt matter. Please email or pm me or just post in here Patrick :-)

About to get started on getting a box for a fi bl 15. I have the space so was thinking about 4-5 cubes as one fi page suggests 2.8-4 and another 2.8-5? want to hit lows and still have it get a little loud and don't really know 100 percent about tuning but was thinking 33 hz ? Any suggestions I appreciate or input...power is a saz 1500d v3...thanks for your time

Well, I've been looking to start my first real system, and I found a really good deal on these 2 subs. They are the 1ohm 12" Q's. I am pretty newbish and was wondering what configuration would be best (I would guess just wiring them for 1ohm final), and what amps would be good options to push these? Im still in highschool with a part time job so my budget is a little tight (but feel free to say what you think, I can save up if need be). Many thanks, Ben

Ok guys I need a little input on a few things. First off, I was running two FI Q 15's off of a 40.1 @ 1 ohm in a 8cuft box ported to 28hz and blew one to hell and the other one's coil is burnt like a motha... So I was thinking of going with either one 18 BTL or two 15 BTL's off of the 40.1 @ 1 ohm. What do you think? Either setup will be tuned to 32hz. I was planning on modifying the current box if I go the 15 route, but if I go with the 18, the box will be around 7.5~8 cuft tuned to 32hz. This will be a daily driver setup.

Ive got 2 BTL 15s and i wanted to make sure my calculations were correct before i started building. The total room i have to work with is h=23 w=24 l=39inches. Total internal volume is 10.5 cubes, and after all displacements i have 8.65 cubes. the port dimensions are h=22.5 w=4.5 l=18.4 which should make the box tuned to 33hz. can someone check this for me to make sure i didnt make any errors. Thanks Keith

Scott suggested that I do a 0.47 cu ft box. I'm having trouble finding the right dimensions. Can anyone help?

I have a guy waning to buy my SP4 so im considering an upgrade. the low end bass of the 29hz box has grown on me and i want it louder. my thought was to keep my 8.2 cubic box that i have my SP4 in and use that for a Team 18. I currently run a single KX2500.1 (2005 model) for my SP4. I was thinking of setting it up with a second KX2500.1 and buying a dual 2 ohm T18. then running 1 amp per coil, throwing my factory alt back into my truck and bracketing my mechman next to it. taking my 3 AGM G49's and isolating them along with the mechman into a dedicated power plant for the stereo and letting my factory alt handle my normal vehicle needs with a couple cheap lead acid batter…

FI website says 5-10 cubes is the recommendation. i will have 1500w on tap and am wondering, what is the difference between the 5 cube box and the 10 cube box. obviously the 10 cube box will be more efficient etc etc. but im more concerned with whether 5 cubes is really going to be enough for an 18? most people build 8 cube+. biggest i can get is 5.5 to 6 cubes, is that size box really enough? anyone with particular experience with this would be especially welcome.

I'm new to the forums and i was interested in purchasing a 15 inch bl and running it in a ported box for loud bass. I'm not into competitions or anything like that i just like loud music. I've been watching videos on youtube and the realm of excursion and i think these subs are badass. Now to my question, if i purchased one fully loaded 15 inch bl how many watts could i put into it and be able to pound everyday in a daily driver without blowing it and which amp or amps would be best for it?

I got the box built a few days ago.. just wondering if I could throw the dimensions out here and you guys can tell me what it is size wise. He told me its around 8.7cubic feet and i think he said 32 hz is what its tuned too.. damn thing is huge, but here is the measurements 48 1/4th across, 20 1/8 height on the face plate, 24 1/2 tall.. the port i wasnt 100% sure how to measure properly so ill tell you what i did and if im wrong correct me and ill run out in the garage and re measure. I basically stuck the tape measure in the port, hooked on to where the inner port board stops and took that as my port depth measurement, which was 17", port is 6 7/8 wide, 18 1/2 tall, its …

I just recieved my Q12 D2 and am now shopping for an amp. I'm looking at the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-1bd. This amp sends 1000w X 1 @ 1ohm or 250w X 1 @ 4ohms. I can run my Q12 in series and have a 4 ohm or parallel and have a 1 ohm. If I run this parallel, one of two things will happen, I don't know which, my understanding of electronics is limited, obviously. Either each voice coil will see 1000 watts, meaning 2000w are being run through the sub or each voice coil will see 500w, meaning 1000w are being run through the sub. If I run it in series, will each voice coil see 250w, meaning the sub sees 500w or will each voice coil see 125w, meaning the sub will s…

I have a fi q 12. I didnt choose the high qts option because i had planned for a ported box, but ported is wayy to big for my little trunk lol Would it matter if i put the sub, without the high qts, in a sealed box? If it matters, im going to put it in the smallest bOx possible I dont plan on running the sub to the max, just some extra bass for daily driving. Also, i hate rattling, so you can bet i wont run it any where near max output.

Forum, I have a unique situation and was looking for help. I have 4 FI BL subs but 2 are dual 1 ohm and the other 2 are dual 2 ohm. Can i run these 4 subs in the same enclosure and what final impedence will they have wired in series or parallel?? I have 2 Fosgate 2500-1bdcp amps that can be strapped together at a final load of 2 ohms.

hi i'm interested in a pair of 18" btl's and i'm curious how much efficiency is lost by choosing the "daily" option and the "universal" option , these sub are going to be used in a streetmax truck but I may want to bass race occasionaly. I think i'm looking at dual 2 ohm, pole chamfer, thirdslug,hi xmax coil, daily, and universal for the build options on them how much would recones be so I could stock them so when i blow one i can just recone it and order a replacement instead of missing a show waiting on the UPS guy. Thanks for your time Charlie

I need box plans for a Fi Q12 (dual 2). It going to be powered by a Sundown 1000D. I want it to get loud but also have SQ. So Im thinking tuning it to 32hz. Fi recommends 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume. The demensions I want to use are 14.5 H, 28 W, 18 D. (can change alittle)

Since my second Q is getting here tomorrow, I thought why dont I start working on the box like tomorrow or Saturday since I have nothing better to do on those days.. So I was hoping that there is someone around here that is an expert at box designs and cutout measurements could help me on making a design and measurements then I'll build it... The box is going to be for 2 15 inch Fi Q's.. Ported.. I would like the subs firing upwards and port firing towards the hatch.. Also, I want it to be tuned at 32hz.. It will be going in my explorer.. so the max dimensions I got: Height: 16 1/2 inches Length: 41 1/2 inches Width: This wont matter, I got plenty of room, but would li…

Well here it goes, I am planning on running 2 18" Q series Fi's in my daily driver(2000 GMC Safari). I need box design ideas for this aplication, I want it to be more aimed at sq then db. I am running a Alpine pdx 1000.1 to each 18 at 4ohms at 1000watts rms. The room I have available for the build in the back measures 50 inches wide by 34 inches deep by 21 inches tall. plan on useing 3/4 mdf for box. Pritty much need to know everything what hrz to tune it at, How many ports, what size ports, slot ported or round. Let me know what you think any ideas would be a great help. Also when are the Q's going to be available to order.

I am running 3 Fi Q15's. The box is 10.2cuft internal after port and sub displacement. The port is 5" x 28.5" and 26.25" long. Is that a proper amount of port area? That should put my tuning right around 32hz.
