I was considering a trade for 2 BTL 15s ( Single slug, spaceship motor), but the subs only have the cooling option. I am going from 4 SA-12s, and I like my lows. I'm powering them with 2 Audiopipe AP3ks. I was gonna run them in 3.5 per (7net), and tune between 30-33hz. I listen to alot of rap, low bass music, and I really want to be able to play in the high 20s/low 30s with authority. With just cooling, will these 15s be able to produce like I want them to? I'm only getting rid of the SAs to do a forward firing/sealed off setup, and I can't get 4 12s to fit in a blowthrough. I also wanted to see what FI was all about Thanks for any help

I have 2 mtx thunder 7801d amps and was wondering if that is enough power for 1 of the Bl 18's? If yes what options should I choose for the Sub? I know I'm going to need the daily option for sure, but after that I'm lost.

FI website says 5-10 cubes is the recommendation. i will have 1500w on tap and am wondering, what is the difference between the 5 cube box and the 10 cube box. obviously the 10 cube box will be more efficient etc etc. but im more concerned with whether 5 cubes is really going to be enough for an 18? most people build 8 cube+. biggest i can get is 5.5 to 6 cubes, is that size box really enough? anyone with particular experience with this would be especially welcome.

I am planning to purchase a BTL 15 when they are available, i would like to know what kinda applications this sub is gonna be adaptable to. I had a DD 9515G, but everytime i talk to them via e-mail or on the phone their customer service is severely lacking lately. So i sold it. I would like to run one of the BTL's in the DD's place daily in a T-line Enclosure, and then in a standard slot ported, or possibly kerf ported enclosure for when i wanna meter it. What kind of options are gonna be available, and what the specifics of them. just got a blow sx 12 and the glue on the top plate gave way when i pulled the coil out, so the gap collapsed, is there anyways to realign it, if so how much. thanks

thanks everyone need a little help i have a new bl 15 loaded, enclosure 4 cb tuned to 32 hz, im trying to adjust my amp and head unit settings for this sub ive tried several things but i dont feel that its right... the amp is a hifonics bxi 2008d mono, and the head unit is a pioneer deh p7900... ok now ive played around with it a little and to get decent sound (bass) ive had to set this amp to gain level 3/4 up, and bass eq 3/4 up, subsonic a little over half way, and low pass a little over half way... and the head unit settings hpf 80hz, (sla) all way up, loud off, sub 1 normal, sub 2 to +6 and im guessing the band thats on this setting with this is the low pass at 100…

whats up guys. i need to figure out some dimensions for the btl 18" sub so i can fit it in my 1962 chevy belair. any adice would be greatly appreciated

I broke my terminal loose pulling the sub out of its box, I tried crazy gluing it back but that aint working, My question is, whats the bolt for on the terminal, the terminal is not screwed on, it looks as if it was just glued on over top of the screw instead of screwed down. Now, I cant get the terminal flush with the screw head to even glue it down properly, what would you guys suggest? Right now, the terminal is just flopping around, I know that cant be good

Anyone have any experience with FI Q 4th order bandpass boxes? I'm thinking about doing one for two FI q 12's. I've heard they really help to eliminate trunk rattles when you port them through the deck. I have 2200 RMS to work with.

I am running 3 Fi Q15's. The box is 10.2cuft internal after port and sub displacement. The port is 5" x 28.5" and 26.25" long. Is that a proper amount of port area? That should put my tuning right around 32hz.

Can someone post a blue print of a ported box for this. my friend said someone was going to build me one for the past month and nothing has happen yet so i figured if someone could just post a blue print i could build it my self i was looking for something tuned around 33 hz. can someone get me dimensions and all that good stuff. thanks for hepling.

I plan on running to Fi Qs in a sealed enclosure, using the minimum recommended volume due to space constraints. My power is a Zapco c2k 9.0 4ohm version. I can run the amp bridged or in stereo, so that opens up both the dual 1ohm and dual 2ohm voice coil configs as options. Since I intend to run sealed, I plan on ordering the high QTS option. So here is the dilema: I noticed that the T/S parameters are different for both the D1 and D2 ohm cofigs, and I imagine that the high QTS option further changes the T/S parameters. The car is a 2001 chevy blazer(SUV). I dont want to take up my whole cargo space for this single subwoofer. I dont know wheather to go with sealed or ported, what would be the pros and cons. Would anyone know an estimated demension size(hight,width,dept) i would be expecting to get with either ported or sealed. THNX alot

Well just in the past few days I have noticed that my sub was not working. Me being the lazy person that I am put it off for a while assuming that just a connection was loose. Yesterday I finally got around to taking a look and all the connections outside of the box looked fine. The amp (sae-1000D) looked to be working fine, but no movement or sound from the sub. With the music playing I pushed the cone a little and then it made a little effort but once I moved my hand away it did nothing. I'm getting ready to build an enclosure with 2 BL 15's in my 06 Civic and was wanting to know what frequency would be best for both daily and competition.

hi i'm interested in a pair of 18" btl's and i'm curious how much efficiency is lost by choosing the "daily" option and the "universal" option , these sub are going to be used in a streetmax truck but I may want to bass race occasionaly. I think i'm looking at dual 2 ohm,pole chamfer,thirdslug,hi xmax coil,daily, and universal for the build options on them how much would recones be so I could stock them so when i blow one i can just recone it and order a replacement instead of missing a show waiting on the UPS guy. hey all im really sold on getting a bl 15 for my car. i was just wondering how much it will cost to get it shipped to montreal since it states on the fi site that shipping only free in the states. im also wondering if the flatwind coil is good to get if i plan to use the sub daily (will it give much better sound).

I'm thinking of buying a FI Q to put in a sealed box in my spare tire well. The dimensions I have to work with are 24"(width)x26"(Depth)x10"(height). I'm a complete noob when it comes to building boxes but want to try to do this one. How do I figure out if I can make a box that will work with the FI Q with those dimensions and what size to make it etc?

I just recieved my Q12 D2 and am now shopping for an amp. I'm looking at the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-1bd. This amp sends 1000w X 1 @ 1ohm or 250w X 1 @ 4ohms. I can run my Q12 in series and have a 4 ohm or parallel and have a 1 ohm. If I run this parallel, one of two things will happen, I don't know which, my understanding of electronics is limited, obviously. Either each voice coil will see 1000 watts, meaning 2000w are being run through the sub or each voice coil will see 500w, meaning 1000w are being run through the sub. If I run it in series, will each voice coil see 250w, meaning the sub sees 500w or will each voice coil see 125w, meaning the sub will s…

Well right now im running one 15 Fi Q in the trunk of my civic. The box is around 3.2 after displacement and tunned around 33. I got it ran off a memphis 1000D. It sounds pretty good but i was thinking about doubling my power and getting another 15 Q. Problem is i barely have enough room for one in my trunk. My civic is not my daily driver and i was possibly thinking about walling it and running 2 15Q's off of 2000rms. I was just wondering everyones opinions on this? Would it be worth walling with that power and how do u think it would sound in a good built box. Any help or sugestions would be appreciated, figured i would get some opinions before deciding on this, thanks
