I recently just ordered me two 18" fi btl fully loaded and im selling my 18" q's to my buddy. What I need is a good box design for my btl's. My maximum measurements for the btl's box is 49"x20"x29". i currently have aero ports for my q's and im wanting to do a single chamber with a big slot port, subs up port back. And i also need a box design for my buddys setup, max measurements of 40"x26"x26", with the same idea as my box. so if there is anyone with ideas, let me know please. thanks

I'm wondering if this is a good idea. The box being 12 cubic feet @ 35 hz with 189 square inches of port. That's about 15.7 square inches per cubic foot. I can tune slightly lower, but will sacrifice port area. Is this a good design for daily driving?

So I am about ready to start this new setup. I ended up thinking that I would like to go with two flared ports with a 15" sub. Is it okay to put two flared ports in an enclosure with a single 15? I wanted to do this, sadly, for the looks so I can keep the sub in the middle of the enclosure so things stay symmetric. How do I go about this. Do I follow the same rough 12 to 16 inches of port area per cu ft of volume or do i now divide that in half since I am running two ports. Any help would be great as I dont want to screw this up. THanks.

I am looking to build a slot port box very similar to the threads that are very recent in the forum. My dimensions are slightly different and I want to flare the port walls which will complicate things. My dimensions are: height: 14" width: 30" depth: variable tuning freq: 32 hz box volume: 2.3 cu ft subwoofer: FI Q12 Dual 2 amp: Soundstream PCA1500D Like I said I would like to flare the vent sides by cutting slits in the MDF and bending it. I have made some test bends and they seem to work out pretty well. I have read that adding the flares will require an additional 1-2" of port length. I can add the additional length that is required for the flared p…

What is a good program to use that can help me put my idea on paper? I want to have a setup with two sealed drivers in the back of my blazer (15/18 still undecided). I want to have them stacked like an 8, except I want the top one to be inverted this will be in a fiberglass box painted black with lightning airbrushing. I just wish I had a program that would allow me to rig a detailed example of what this would look like.... Thanks

im trying to stay with an enclosure that is 3cf or less and trying to decide whats better, 2 12s sealed with 3000watts (buy a new sundown 3000 amp) or 1 12 ported with 1500 watts (keep my mtx 1501d)? if the sealed subs would be louder, how much louder? last option is 2 10s ported. looking for LSQ, basically the loudest set up i can get with the space available. appreciate the help!

  13. Hey. I am doing a 5.5 ported box in a hatch of my 1995 camaro, off of a hifonics 20006D, What Sub(s) would you recommend? I want the sub to hit the lows and be pretty loud. I was thinking a 18" BL. Tuned to 36-37. Or maybe 2 15" SSDs? Not sure if these subs will be suffocating in the box that is 5.5 without displacements.

Putting a brand spankin new 15" Q dual 2ohm in a 97 honda accord. This is for daily music kinda stuff, no comps, I just want it to be clean and wang on the lows. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with these trunks and knows what can fit in em. I am thinking that ported would sound best but am open to all suggestions. Also, if ported should I go with slot port, aero, other? If my measurements are correct, Max we're looking at 17 tall x 32 wide x 22 deep. Will a ported 3.0 ft^3 sound as nice as 4.0 ft^3? Any help would be great

Whats up everyone. I'm new to this site and im looking for some help with my box build. I just got a Fi Bl 15 dual 1 fully loaded and i am wondering what dimensions i should use to get the most slap outta this sub. I went to RE Audio and used there box calculator and came up with: W: 38" H: 18" D: 17.5"... Port width: 4" port Length 12.75. Second port length: 16"....with 4.2 cu ft. in total for volume. Box is Tuned to: 31.63 hz Does that sound alright? Also im buying a Hifonics BXi 2010D to power the BL so id be giving it 2000 watts. Is that to much? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

I am buying 4 15's and I wanted to know which was the better choice. I understand that they both have the same RMS wattage I am going for more spl and lower bass. I wanted to know which sub would produce more bass in the lower octave. I have no problem as far as space I just wanted to know which produces more output.

  17. Im looking at this... for one Fi 18" BTL.... internal dimensions of: 17"H x 29.5"W x 31.5"D I subtracted .26 for speaker displacement, 1.428 for port displacement, and just guessed around .2 for bracing displacement (im mostly gonna use .75" threaded rods and some 2x2)... and I came up with a NET Volume of 7.25 cubes and the port is gonna be 17"h x 6"w x 26"d (with a total of 102 sq "/ 14.06 cubic inches each ft3) ...I came up with a 33.22 hz tune with all this..... can ya'll review these specs, and let me know if this all seems correct? I would greatly appreciate it!!! :foshizzle: thanks, john

Also Specs For A Square Port Or A Slot Port, And How You Make A Square One. I Suppose Its Just A Hole In The Box Panel? The Sub Is Firing Up, Port Firing Back.

Im using the RE calculator to build a box and when im looking at the 5" port it says the Volume internal, and volume displaced is 2000...on the others its 1500 and below..i have no idea what this means, is it how loud the box will be or what..Which port u think i should design???Also the larger the port the less box volume i have..its been between 3.6-4ft3..i cant make a bigger box so let me kno which port is gonna be the best!! I just bought a 12" Brahma MKII, its working but has had the tinsels resoldered after they broke. I was going to attempt to repair the tinsel leads and run with it like that, but, the guy I bought it from originaly said it was a 10" , now he says its a 12" , so I want to go ahead and recone it down to a 10". So, I want to go ahead and place an order for a 10" recone kit with 10" basket and gasket shipped to 26851. Just wanted to post this here before I send any emails.

Forum, I have a SUV and my setup is 2 BL 12's in a shared chamber ported enclosure tuned at 33hz. I was wondering would the subs sound better facing forward or to the rear of my SUV tailgate? The subs and port are on the same baffle. Right now i have them facing forward and it sounds really good but just wondering am i losing out on that chest pounding bass if they are facing the rear?
