Ok so Fi recommends 2-2.6 cf for a sealed 15 Q. The Khaotik sealed 15 box comes in at 2.769 cf. So will I be ok to run a slightly bigger box or will I run into any problems. Cus that really doesn't seem like that much of a difference to me but just wanted to check. Thanks.

i am looking to get some ssq subs whether their 12 or 15's i dont know yet. i want to get the amp first then the subs. i cant stand when people do it the other way around. i was looking at the alphasonik pma 1200da. the amp is 1500 watts @4 ohms, 2000 watts @2 ohms and 3000 watts @1 ohm. ive heard people say these are good amps but i want to know if the wattage is true. or even if they are crap. i would run the the 2 dual 2 ohm subs parallel to one ohm then series em to make 2 ohms combined. at 1600 watts rms for the two i would be giving them 2000 watts with the amp at 2 ohms. is it smart to purchase this amp or should i search around. can some one help me? or give advi…

In my van. I'm running a rockford fosgate p8002 with zero guage wiring to my 18" dual 2 ohm p chamfer BL at 4 ohms about 800 rms. I was wondering what i should have my amp at for gain and frequency i got about a 6 cubic foot box not really tuned. all i listen too his rap. I just want it too be super loud. i'm borrowing the box from a friend while i'm building mine. thanks alot

like it says want to build another box for my btl if someone could help with some tuneing and a 3rd dimention it would help thanks. Oh it would be a 1/2 wall can go 36X20X?(maybe 24 to 30 inches) external and would like to tune to 36hz feel free to PM me or answer here also there will be 6 in internal radius corners on the backside and matereal would be 1.25 in thick. im doing an instll in a 88 s-10 blazer for 2 12" ssd's for everyday use tuned around 33 what type of box do you guys think will be best? i was thinking about a crx type box but what size box/port should i go with?

Im driving a Dodge dakota extended cab and im going to be running 2 12" fi q's. I was wondering if it would be better to face the subs towards the front of the truck firing at the back of the seats, or firing towards the ceiling of the truck. Thanks in advance for any help!

I currently have a Q12 in a 1.35 sealed enclosure powered by a Cadence TXA-1000d. It sounds really good right now, but I cant help but think this sub can handle a couple hundo more watts on a constant basis. Am I right that it can handle more or is it just wishful thinkin?

Also Specs For A Square Port Or A Slot Port, And How You Make A Square One. I Suppose Its Just A Hole In The Box Panel? The Sub Is Firing Up, Port Firing Back.

Wondering on box size for strict SPL setup. Would it be best to use the 3 or 5 cubic foot box or some other size. Tuning will be 54 hz. Not sure on port size yet but thinking 150" per sub if I use the 5 cubic foot size and 90 on the 3 cubic foot size. Will be running 2 Sundown Audio SAZ-3000D to each sub off a 16 volt system. Willing to listen to suggestions.

ok, well my box broke today, so now i have even more incentive to build a new one. this time i plan on using aero ports that way i can change it out from a daily driver to spl... im not sure how big i want to build it this time, what would be the pros/cons of building a bigger box, say around 5 cubes compared to something closer to 4.

hey so I bought Bl 18in dual 1ohm. Im using the Re calculator for a L port, but im seeing there are many variable s that i have to account for so if you guys can help me understand what to do. Its going to be tuned at 32 hertz So how much port area should i have? My demnsions are 37W by 20H by 15 D. How much box voulme should i have? And where should i mount the subwoofer can i have it on the same side as where the vent will be? how far from the vent should it be? This is the first time i have ever done somthing like this so i dont know all the terms and what they mean so if you could plz explain it. thx!

I have a guy waning to buy my SP4 so im considering an upgrade. the low end bass of the 29hz box has grown on me and i want it louder. my thought was to keep my 8.2 cubic box that i have my SP4 in and use that for a Team 18. I currently run a single KX2500.1 (2005 model) for my SP4. I was thinking of setting it up with a second KX2500.1 and buying a dual 2 ohm T18. then running 1 amp per coil, throwing my factory alt back into my truck and bracketing my mechman next to it. taking my 3 AGM G49's and isolating them along with the mechman into a dedicated power plant for the stereo and letting my factory alt handle my normal vehicle needs with a couple cheap lead acid batter…

I have a company to build my box, but I am not feeling very comfortable with what they are capable of. So, I want to show up with ideal measurements in hand and make sure they don't make a mistake. I have a 15 inch BL fully loaded dual 2 and will be running 1000w RMS to it. I need to build the box into the spare tire well and up a bit. I want to know where I should fire the port and roughly how many sqft I need and how to configure the port. Currently, I have a sealed box firing straight up. Its okay, but not great. The sub will be at he very back of the trunk, should I fire the port at an angle towards the rear window with the sub firing up?

I was looking at the options for the new 12" BTL im getting and i cant seem to find anywhere on the site that explains what the "HiXmCoil" and "I Heat Ring" do sorry if i overlooked something thanks for the explanations in advance. Tyler

Hello all I have just received 2 FI Q 12s dual 2ohm subs. Now I am having all kinds of battles with self over what to do with them!! 1st issue is my amp is a Memphis Belle 5ch. If I run both subs, my wiring options are .5 ohm, 2ohm, and 8ohm. The amp is not .5ohm stable, only has 600watts at 2ohm, and not sure what it would be at 8ohm(only 400 at 4ohm). Would 600 be enough watts for 2 subs?? I have a Trans Am so if running both, I would have to have a sealed box. Is this doable without changing amps? I have been thinking of just running 1 sub and selling the other. If I do, I could choose a sealed or a ported enclosure. I have read the sticky about enclosure size my qu…

i only have about 2.0 to 2.2 cubic foot to work with before sub displacement and port displacement. i know the 12 calls for 1.8 to 2.5 before displacement so i was wondering if it would be better for me to run 2 10's sealed and be more efficient instead of trying to squeeze in the 12 ported edit: sorry i hate this computer i meant 2 10 sealed or 1 12 ported sorry . . .

Hey guys, i recently built a box for my 18" BL and i realized it doesnt really have the low end that I am looking for. So, I'm looking at blocking up one of my ports to lower the tuning. my question about this is the vent velocity. currently, its tuned to around 37Hz. if i blocked up one of the ports, i'd lower it down to 31Hz. Vent velocity is what worries me though: at 37Hz, I have a peak of 15.7m/s VV @ 25Hz at 31Hz, I'd have a peak of 22.9m/s VV @ 22Hz; i reach 15.7m/s of VV with the 31Hz tuning @ 34Hz Is it worth it? or will the port noise be to much? the group delay also jumps a little bit, but i'm not to worried about that because it all happens in the 24Hz range…

all right so i currently have 1 12" bl 2008 model and im thinking up my new set up and im throwing some things aorund. i was thinking one 15" btl or 1 12" BTL but then i remembered that 2 12" BL's should be louder than a single BTL and i was just thinking how much louder would 2 12" BL's be compared to 1 12" bl. It would be 2 12" BL in a custom ported enclosure in the trunk of a little cavalier 2 door. it would be 2.5 cu ft per sub with 39 sq inches of port per sub and a tuning of 32, and on a rockford 2500 (be approximatly 1400-1500 per sub rms) compared to a single 12" bl in a 2.5 cu ft after displacment tuned to 34 hz with 39 sq inches of port. also on a rockford 150…

Which would get louder 1 15" Bl in a ported box or 2 12" ssds? They would be powered by a saz-1500d. im wondering which would get louder and sound better. any help would be great.

So I am about ready to start this new setup. I ended up thinking that I would like to go with two flared ports with a 15" sub. Is it okay to put two flared ports in an enclosure with a single 15? I wanted to do this, sadly, for the looks so I can keep the sub in the middle of the enclosure so things stay symmetric. How do I go about this. Do I follow the same rough 12 to 16 inches of port area per cu ft of volume or do i now divide that in half since I am running two ports. Any help would be great as I dont want to screw this up. i'm building two enclosures one sealed and one vented 3/4" mdf my dims are 17-18" high {could go either way a little bit more} 41" wide{also have room over the wheel wells if needed} depth as needed running off an saz 1500d i am looking for the best all around sound this will see all kinds of music at differing levels [daily driver, wife two kids} i'm not looking for every last .01 db but every once and awhile it will have to take a pounding would anyone be able to help me come up with a design for the ported ? any thoghts on the sealed, with those dims it will end up not very deep. is that a problem sound wise, with it being so slim and wide or should i make it more c…
