I am looking to build an enclosure for my 4 12" fully loaded BL subwoofers and was wondering if 8 cubes after displacement and everything is large enough or too large? I want to tune to 32hz as well. Please chime in with any ideas if you have them?

  7. Alright, I'm sure you've read it before and probably been through it; someone bought a setup and loved it but is no longer enough for them. That is also me at the moment and that is what this is about. What I have: 2010 Chevy Malibu 2 12" fully loaded Fi Q 12s in a sealed enclosure approx. 3 c.f. (built for sealed because of lack of trunk space for ported box) no upgraded alternator (reason: not easily accessible and no one pimps these malibus, so they don't make those componenets and when they do, they're expensive) 2400 Kinetik battery in trunk bigger battery upfront (duralast platinum/gold whichever they said was better, lol) Hifonics Brutus BRZ-2400 0 gauge and big …

ok, just installed my new 15qd2 with bp today. 4.8 cuft ported at 28 hz...rockford p1000-1bd. yes thing slams louder then i could have imagined. only one problem. i think i will be able to get rid of most of the trunk rattle, but it's the sunroof then driving me nuts. i need to get an sd card reader to load some pics and vids from my phone... every time i start playing some really low notes, the sunroof starts banging so bad that's about all i hear inside. anyone have this issue or know how to fix it? any ideas would be great! oh yes it's a 99' infiniti i30.

I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra (1.8L) that has the stock alternator putting out 80 amps. I am looking to soon be running 1200 watts RMS through the system. I know I will have to do SOMETHING with the electrical system. But what? New alternator? Extra battery? (Big three is a given) If new alternator, would the one in the link below be suffice? (20 extra amps) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120530973171&viewitem=&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2&category=33573

Hey, I'm looking to build a new box strictly for street beating. I'm looking to tune it down to 30 hz. It's going in a Mazda 6 so I don't have excessive room to work with... External dimensions of the box will be 40" wide 27" deep and 17" high (double layer on top). Sub will be facing up as well as the port. I was thinking of putting the sub in the middle of the box, closer to the back of the car, and the port closer to the front of the car facing up. What would be better for music? 3", 4", 5" or 6" port width? Any ideas guys?

  13. I have a company to build my box, but I am not feeling very comfortable with what they are capable of. So, I want to show up with ideal measurements in hand and make sure they don't make a mistake. I have a 15 inch BL fully loaded dual 2 and will be running 1000w RMS to it. I need to build the box into the spare tire well and up a bit. I want to know where I should fire the port and roughly how many sqft I need and how to configure the port. Currently, I have a sealed box firing straight up. Its okay, but not great. The sub will be at he very back of the trunk, should I fire the port at an angle towards the rear window with the sub firing up?

My old box designed by chris fishercustoms, for daily pounder. Its 49"w x 26"h x 32.25" d with port facin back 9"w x 23.75"h tuned to 33hz. Everybody that sees it says it is way to big and should only b around 14 to 16 cubes. But fi recommends 8 to 10 cubes each. Anyway it sounded good on everything, but I took it out and tried a 4th order bandpass which was good also. Now I want want my backseat back and thought bout tryin some aero's. Any suggestions on the new box, aero's or stay with slot? Thanks

  15. This is a box plan I made, and want some output on this. I was hoping someone could double check "my work" as you would call it, to see if everything seems okay. Image attached along with specs below: box image Specs: For a 15" fi ssd in a 1st gen mazda 6 trunk. .75 MDF Gross box volume 4.05 cu ft. Net volume: I suck at math, no clue. Hoping to be within 3-3.5 cu ft range? 4" aeroport tuned @ 33hz. ***optional setup (I am leaning towards this)*** 4.05 cu ft. gross with 6" aeroport tuned @ 35hz. Dimensions: 15" tall x 35" wide x 30" BD x 4" TD x 29.15" angled front panel length. As I said, honest opinions are GREATLY appreciated, as I want to nail this project. Thanks! -…

I am Building a new box tonight which will be made out of mdf, dimensions will be height=16.5 width=36 depth=15.5 with a 3 inch port and tned to 34hz. it will give me 3.56cubes. Bought a new Fi Q 12 and i was wondering if you guys could help me out with the enclosure, i have a hatchback its a golf with Cdt es-520 with upstage up front and cl-61a in the rear powered by a Directed 1100d5 and strapped to 600d for 1200watts @ 2ohm for the sub. i listen to wide range of music but mostly reggae, hip-hop, r&b, rap, pop, and some classics. My goal is sound quality but i would also like it to be loud at the same time without sacrificing sound quality and with that said would a sealed or ported enclosure best suit my hatchback. Thanks guys!!!

Hello, Today I pulled my Q12 from the box (Dual 2) and tested both voice coils. They seem to settle at about 1.4 to 1.5 ohm. Is this normal for a dual 2? *It has not seen power yet.

  22. Hello. I recently ordered a Q model 12". After about a 2 month wait I finally received it. First off the packaging was damaged when it arrived, the foam on the bottom had broken and the sub was slightly sideways in the box. I ignored this because I figured the sub was probably fine, it didnt appear to be too sideways in the box. I had the sub installed today in a 1.7 cu. ft. sealed box, and I must say I am very disappointed. It literally seems as if there is almost no output coming out of the sub (running at 2 ohms on a Sundown Audio 2500, so about 1200 watts RMS amp). I understand it needs to break in, but I mean that the volume is literally almost on off it seems. Also,…

Well I have been looking for a new set of 12's for my truck. I just purchased a dodge mega cab that needs some serious audio loving. I have (2) 15 eclipse ti subs that will not fit. I am trying to put (2) 12's behind the rear mega cab seats. I have been thinking seriously about buying a pair of Fi BL or BTL subs but I am worried about space for the BTL's. I have 60 inches of width 23 inch height but the depth is only 7.5 inches at the top and around 11 at the bottom. Is there a way I could build a ported enclosure with those dimensions that could effectively push 2 BTL's or BL's. I would be using 2 DEI Viper D1200.1 amps. I am very impressed with the BL and BTL line. I al…
