I just got a 12 Q D2 with BP power hooked up with a JL 500/1. in a sealed 1.5(20*13*15.5) after sub displacement. is the amp to little for the sub? i set the amp to JL specs. and then i get clipping. i've used the same amp on others subs and get better sound and more power out of it. but with ported boxes using the same JL specs. how should i set it with a sealed box?

Ive got 2 BTL 15s and i wanted to make sure my calculations were correct before i started building. The total room i have to work with is h=23 w=24 l=39inches. Total internal volume is 10.5 cubes, and after all displacements i have 8.65 cubes. the port dimensions are h=22.5 w=4.5 l=18.4 which should make the box tuned to 33hz. can someone check this for me to make sure i didnt make any errors. OK, I'm going to buy 1 18" BTL today and I need to know what options to go with. I want to compete in SPL but I do sometimes want to be able to listen to music. I'm running it with a SAZ-3000 and I don't ever plan on adding another Sub. (I could never fit another) Yup so what options should i get?? thanks

I have read from many 04/05 XXX users that the tinsel sometimes break. My friends 12" just broke last week and we're trying to get some tinsel wires and there so hard to find. Forum members have told me to talk to scott or nick at Fi car audio to get some. Seems they might be busy since i didn't get a reply. Hoping they see this and respond back. thanks

I was wondering if the BP option changes anything on the T/S parameters of any woofer it gets done to? Does it lower efficiency? And if it does, what is the point? Does a subs BL drop by having the BP option?

Got my bl today, went to bolt it into the box and noticed that the holes in the gasket don't go all the way through. I can see the holes on the bottom then the lip that comes off of the surround goes over the whole and blocks it. Do i drill through it?

sorry to make another thread about it, but i can t get anybody to answer me about my mt motor i sent to have repaired..its been over a month! i got a email from scott about it being fixed , then i never heard a thing ...i have emailed fi , and scott many times and no replies......am i ever going to get my motor back????????? or am i going to just never get it back......???? i was going to buy 2 btl 18's from you after i got my mt motor back, but if this kind of customer service is what i have to look forward to , im not going to buy a thing ........please let me know something please...

Putting a brand spankin new 15" Q dual 2ohm in a 97 honda accord. This is for daily music kinda stuff, no comps, I just want it to be clean and wang on the lows. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with these trunks and knows what can fit in em. I am thinking that ported would sound best but am open to all suggestions. Also, if ported should I go with slot port, aero, other? If my measurements are correct, Max we're looking at 17 tall x 32 wide x 22 deep. Will a ported 3.0 ft^3 sound as nice as 4.0 ft^3? Any help would be great

Box is 13.5cuft Tune to 32hz After subs just under 13cuft Subs are in a common chamber one large vent this is a slot port what do you think about VENT inside area height 5 in Width 39 in depth 15.5 in This vent will be taking up 2cuft over all this numbers were made with carstereo.com calculator is this going to work good or do i need to rethink it again WILL TAKE ANY INFO

i am planning to go with the following sealed box for a Fi Q 15".. would there be any issues with the sub being mounted so close to the edges? theres only 0.1875in. of clearance on the top and bottom of the sub/edge

hey all im really sold on getting a bl 15 for my car. i was just wondering how much it will cost to get it shipped to montreal since it states on the fi site that shipping only free in the states. im also wondering if the flatwind coil is good to get if i plan to use the sub daily (will it give much better sound).

Well i got a decent amount of money back on my taxes so its time for a new system. I have decided on a bl 15 dual 1 ohm and I just want to make sure i got this right. My enclosure is 3.5 cuft after all displacement tuned to 32hz using two 4" tube ports each 15" long. I also will be using a memphis 1500d (1500 watts at 2 ohms). Does all that sound good? Any advice on what options I should add to the sub when ordering? Thanks guys I appreciate it.

Hey im new to the forum and new to Fi. I have been looking around to put a new system in my car and decided on Fi. I plan on purchasing 2 10' SSD with the copper coil and i was wondering if yall had any suggestions on an amp. I was looking at A planet audio RXD-1400 that puts out about 1400 rms and 1900 peak but i wasnt sure. Any help would be great thanks.

I have a BTL 15 dual mag hooked up 1 ohm mono to Sundown 3000. When I really want to get on it the sub sounds like it is bottoming out. When I had it hooked up 2 ohms it did not do this. Also I have yet to blow my 100 amp fuse. Have 300 amp fuse standing buy but with the popping I have to keep the sound down enough so I don't know if I'll ever blow this 100A fuse. Doesn't sound like tinsel slap to me. Box is tuned to 35hz and is almost 4cf. Thanks in advance Ronrico Joe

I'm about to purchase one to go with my JBL 1200.1 Plan is to make a sealed enclosure. I have up to 3 cubes to work with and I see that Fi recommends 2-2.6 What size should I make it? I'm looking for deep and tight bass. I love low lows and when the sub just slams. Other question is weight. How much does a Q15 weigh? Last question is can I run the full 1200 watts to the Q15? thank you

I've got a Q15 with BP Power in 4 cubes @ 32Hz with 58.5 sq. inches of port powered by a Sundown Audio SAE-1000D in my grand marquis, and I want to try a new enclosure. This is a trunk car and the seats do not fold down. What were your favorite enclosure specs for the Q15?

would a kicker zx 2500.1 be to much power for a loaded fi bl 18 daily?

Question What is the highest and lowest tuning that you all know of for the differnet series of the Fi lineup? AA would also be considered. Personally I would be most concerened with 18s and 15s I currently have 1 15" BTL dual mag in 3.8CF and tuned to 35hz Many people including myself (surprise) are really impressed by the output of this sub/enclosure combo I however have realised that (to know surprise) the cabinet is not capable of playing the lowest notes. Really needing more airspace for lower simpler tuning abilities, the box is great for "most people" and say a "rocker" type listener. ok guys i have a RF BD1500, birthsheet 1740 @1ohm, would 2 12" Q's or 1 15" BL be louder?? or is it possible for that to move a BTL a sufficient amount?? and also could you tell me what options to go with please and finally if i get a duel 1 ohm, does that mean the amp sees it at .5 or 1 ohm? and the duel 2 at 1 or 2?

I'm getting absolutly no sound out of my sub it was working fine for about 10 minutes earlier and than i unhooked it so I could set the gain correctly with a dmm and after I hooked it back up I got nothing from the sub The first time I hooked it up at had it at 1/4 gain up so I'm sure it was not clipping and I only played it on low volumes, I also didnt smell any burning So could could sub be blown? Dvc 2 ohm wires parallel to 1 ohm off kx1200

I'm kind of limited in space but here are the maximum external dimensions 34"W 18"D 14.5"H Sub is Fi BTL dual Mag. One out of Shawn Fleming's van from 2007 Dytna SBNs if anyone is familiar w/what he had. I only know that tit is a dual mag and will definately play music. Amp Sundown 3K Not looking for SPL nor just the LOWZ Sub up port back (I will do both in center although woofer mounted to one side makes more since to me) but hey what do I know I can't even measure CF So I guess basically can anyone figure out how much Cf my box will be minimal bracing (just 3 2x2s) 2 13"L 1 32.5"L and dimensions on a port WxH=port but how deep to adjust the tuning?
