Hey guys im looking to try out the maxx link but i have a question for ya. Im gonna be running 4 kicker zx2500.1 amps and 2 18in Btl dual 1 ohm subs. The zx amps are 2 ohm stable and i was wondering if there is any possible configuration to have the amps see a 2ohm load once strapped. Also would i be better without the maxx link and running each amp to each coil? What ohm loads could i see there. thanks

So if I get a DVC 2ohm BTL that means there are two voice coils, which just ONE can handle 2kwrms correct? So if I hook up 2kwrms to each, shouldnt that work? Or lets say 1500 on each coil for less heat? Yes yes I understand Im retarded, but you never learn if you never ask P.s. figured out my other question..

well like i stated on someone elses thread, my tinsel lead broke and i really felt the woofer didn't sound the same anymore. i was just looking at it and noticed that the surround is starting to crack around where it meets the cone. and i also need a terminal which i broke a long time ago. my question's.... do i order the recone an do it myself? never done it, so i'm kinda wanting to try it. do i send it back to fi and have them do it? i built a box for another guy in hawaii that has a btl and was wondering if they could do my tinsels like his? or, do i buy a new woofer, because shipping back and forth might be kinda pricey? any and all suggestions welcome and …

i came up on a deal. both subs are 15" BL's, both have cooling, flatwind, and the daily option. 1 however has extreme leads, and the other has regular leads. will this cause problems between the drivers or is it ok to run them together? i know the extremem leads can cause slapping, but is that the only downfall?

All of my subs I own have the positive terminal on the left and negative on the right. Whether they be single or dual they are always in this fashion. I ordered a 15 sexxx recone for a se and a claw basket. I also ordered new terminals and wanted to make sure that I'm not going to install them incorrectly. My glue should be here in a day or so(I hope) and would like to start when it arrives. Thanks CJ

Well my computer crashed and I lost the t/s specs I had saved into win isd for my older model 15 inch Fi Q dual 2. I am throwing around new enclosure ideas but the specs for the new Fi Q's seem a bit different. When I use the specs for the 2010 Q it suggest a ported enclosure where as the older one always suggested sealed. I am sure the specs are reasonably close but just the same I would like to get the t/s specs for the older fi q 15" d2 model if at all possible. If anybody could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

I have an Older 12" Q thats blown. I''ve finally decided to get it reconed but I want to build a ported box for it too. I see the the diagrams and cut sheets for the new Q, but i'm not sure if that will work for older model Q. It's also unfortunate that the cut sheets for that one are a tad too large for my trunk. I have a maximum of 30W 15H 18D, but depth can vary a bit. i was hoping on building the box during the time it takes to get my Q reconed. That should give me enough time to learn how to design a ported box. I have no idea on how to calculate port length and all that jazz. Thanks.

I was wondering which setup would fit better. i currently have a kicker 750.1 and i was planning on gettting a fully loaded 12" duel one ohm sub and running it at 2 ohm. I was wondering if that amp would be enough. If not then I plan on getting a fully loaded BTL 12" duel one ohm sub and running it with a Lanzar2000D. Thats supposed to put our 2000watts @ 0.5 ohms CEA rated. Which setup would work out better?

I am not entirely sure about box dimensions and all. I want forward facing subs. I know 15's will work, but wonder if I could manage an 18. These are going in the bed of my truck with a fiberglass flat shell on top. I am pretty sure the depth of the bed of the truck is 20 or 21". Would I be able to build a box that will fit in this for 18's, or is it way to tight?

Hi, i've been passive for a few months right now. My last system was one 15 btl dual 2 on two RF t20001bds @ 2 ohms with few kinetiks and 300 amp alt. I think of adding another btl 15 but keep the amps, one btl strapped to 1 ohm and one t20001 @ 1 ohms per sub. Do you think this would hit harder or should i just recone the current btl to dual 1 to use the full power of the amps.... Patrick

Hey guys. I'm trying to finish up designing the subwoofer/amp combo for my 02 Yukon. I currently have an RE SX 15, 5.5 cubes at 33hz, on a jbl bp1200.1 My new one will be a single fully loaded BTL 18, 8 cubes, exactly 119 sq inches port area, at 33hz. It will be fed by a Hifonics Colossus (3200rms at 2). All power/ground will be 1/0 KnuKoncepts Kollosus cable (5000+ strands), Optima Yellowtop up front, Iraggi Amputator 175 idle/220 at 1400, possibly another yellowtop in the rear later on. Box will be 48Lx24.5Dx18.5Hl, with an internal dimentions of 46.5x23x17, with a 7x17" port (119sq inches port area) and 28" long. The port itself (with MDF included) will take up approxi…

Well, i've figured out that I can fit a 5.5 cu box in my trunk, now i was originally going to go with two 15" btl's but after taking measurements, it seems like my trunk would be more suited for two 12" btl's. My question is, which would sound better/be louder/hit lower freq's better in a 5.5cu ported box? they will be tuned at about 32hz Any help would be appreciated, thankss

Hello all. I'm getting ready to purchase a Fi Q 12 and a Candence TXA-1000d amp and I was wondering what the optimum enclosure would be for my application. I drive a 97 2dr Exploder, and listen to rock/metal.......lotso heavy stuff. I want the sub to sound as clear as possible when hitting the bass lines and bass drum and still have a nice thump too. So, if anyone has any ideas for specs for me that would be frickin' fantastic! Thanks, Mo

OK, I'm going to buy 1 18" BTL today and I need to know what options to go with. I want to compete in SPL but I do sometimes want to be able to listen to music. I'm running it with a SAZ-3000 and I don't ever plan on adding another Sub. (I could never fit another) Yup so what options should i get?? thanks

Hey finally making some progress and decided to get the Q instead of BTL which will be here on the 3rd. Just wondering whats a good amp to power it at around 1000w-1500w at a 2ohm load. Also what are some good .5ohm stable amps out there and about how many watts would I be looking at running it at .5 instead of 2ohm Plan on going with around a 3cu ported box tuned at around 32hz to go in a 03 honda civic coupe. (If this information helps)

Q#2- I love very deep, low bass! I was planning on a box 3.5-4 cf ported, tuned to 28hz. Is setup going to please my needs?? Q#3- Should I have went with the BP option with my power available?? Hello, I recently purchased an Fi Q 10" and have it in a .6^3ft sealed box (Before displacement). I am running it off an Alphasonik PMA1200D @ 4ohms (approx. 1200 watts) and I notice that the output seems to be really low and kind of dissapointing. It seems to get any real output the gains have to be turned very high along with the bass boost (which of course in not what you want to do). At this point I am not sure if I should try it in a ported enclosure or if something could be wrong with my amp perhaps. Has anyone else had any of these issues? Any suggestions? Thanks, Jim

I am selling my MD2, and I have a 40.1 sitting there for when my 2 other Q15's arrive and get installed. My questin is... If I am careful with the gains, is it ok to run only 2 Q15's on a 40.1(rated @ 3600w rms @ 1ohm)? Or should I just wait until I get the 4 pack installed?

Hey guys. Got a question concerning how much power to give a BTL. My previous system was a loaded 12" BL @ 1ohm load, and pushed by a 1500D amplifier with gains at about 7/10 and 4V headunit @ 22/35. I figure it was about 1200RMS? Now, I see all these people with BTL's saying they push them with 3500RMS+. I just don't see how that's going to be possible.. I'm asking because I figured I could get away with running a 2500D amp for a single loaded 12" Fi BTL . Should I really be looking at more powerful amps?
