  1. Well, i've figured out that I can fit a 5.5 cu box in my trunk, now i was originally going to go with two 15" btl's but after taking measurements, it seems like my trunk would be more suited for two 12" btl's. My question is, which would sound better/be louder/hit lower freq's better in a 5.5cu ported box? they will be tuned at about 32hz Any help would be appreciated, thankss

  2. I was told I can wire this in series to achieve 2ohms. But when I looked up a diagram for the wiring, it didn't make any sense. can someonen post a link of a good diagram? The amp is rated at 1200 watts @2ohms. rms. I figured this would be a perfect match for the Q. Thanks for the help.

Well I just recently bought a Q and since I was eager to listen to it, I put it inside the only box I had. The current box is a sealed box with about .9 ft^3 after displacement. Since its on the smaller side I threw some polyfill in the box as well. Now I want to build a ported box and I honestly have no clue as to where begin. I read through several pages, and found some plans but they don't suit my needs. I also searched online for calculators and only came across the RE calculator. I don't know how accurate it is but it kind of gave me an idea how port length affects tuning frequency. I'm a little tight on space and have a maximum of 30"w x 16"h x 16"d. Matter…

I am loving those FI x specs, and it has a strong BL as well I wonder why these didn't sell as good as the others.. It almost seems like its a good as a subwoofer as a ssd but cheaper. Im no expert but looking at teh specs it has a stonger bl. more efficient, lower fs Did we miss out on one hell of a woofer? or I know I did. IT has a nice xmax as well.

ok so one night i was sitting around thinking up some new box ideas. i really want to have my sub facing forward into the cab of my car, and have the port be on top of the subwoofer. so i was doing some concepting and came up with this, Box idea. I just want to know if it will work. i forgot to put notes so.... notes: 1. double baffle front plate 2. round port edges 3. 2.8 ^3 feet of airspace after all displacement 4. 3/4" mdf or particle board used. its going to be firing forward with the trunk sealed from the cabin. thanks, Anton Miller

I was just wondering if pictures and/or cut sheets would ever be available on the forum. At the very bottom of the Pinned BTL Enclosure Recommendations Thread it says that "Pictures and cut sheets for some enclosures [are] coming soon," however that has been up for many months now and I was wondering if they would ever be up. I just got my 12'' BTL reconed and am wanting a more simple design this time for my box, however I have not found any actual standard recommended designs posted up by Fi, and was just wondering if they would ever be made available. Thanks

Hello, I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to assist me with my first enclosure build. I created an enclosure in Torres that seems to meet my needs, but I am not quite sure if there is enough port area for these subwoofers. Being a long time lurker, I know the people here are quite knowledgeable, so I figured I would throw it out there to see if it will work, or if it needs to be changed up. Here is the screenshot for what I have worked up so far in Torres: Does that seem good enough for port area? This is going in the trunk of a 2004 Toyota Corolla. The dimensions for height and width are the max that I can get away with for front firing subs. If …

( i have a very large trunk. ) i think my MTX JH55 is a 4 cube box. and i still have room for a little more, could someone post the exact and best enclosure for the FI BL 15? and is there any very good box builder for xp or vista? also could i get exact specs for the 15bl with cooling, daily, universal, and a red dustcap. ALSO would a hifonics 1200ixd amp wire at 1 ohm be ok to power this amazing sub?

Sealed enclosure: Width= 14.75" Height= 12" Depth= 15" Which is said to be 1.27 cubic feet "net volume" I am planning on facing the sub upward toward the roof in the back seat of my truck

I'm trying to decide on a sub for my car, and design an enclosure for it. I listen to a lot of drum and bass, so due to the wide range of frequencies, I've already decided to go with a sealed enclosure, and I have a Hifonics BXi 1606D to power the sub. My original plan was to go with a 10" Q, as I figured it would be more than loud enough, even sealed. The issue I've run into, however, is that I want to mount the amp on top of the box, to keep things more compact (take up less trunk space), and to make the box and amp easily removable for autocrosses. The problem I'm having is that once I make the top of the box large enough to hold the amp (~11.25 x 14.5), and make the b…
