which fi sub would sound the best in my ~7 cube box. its about 3.5 cubes before port so about 3 cubes per sub. the box is tuned to 29hz and since its the biggest possible box i was able to make that fits in and out of my trunk with ease thats all i really wanted. so i want to keep the box but by the specs of the sub which would get loudest in this prefab box.

Ok, I have an older BTL18 that was originally a D1 (written on the pole) and its in need of a recone. The owner got ahold of a D2 BTL18 kit, and I got the basket cleaned up and ready. It an older non-woven tinsel kit. But, I have it a snag...the D2 coils OD is noticeably larger than the D1. I have the kit shimmed and in the gap, but is this kit going to work??? Or will the coil hit the top plate when playing? Its a tight fit, but does have some space. Anyone make the D1 to D2 switch? Please reply soon...the owner is in need of a sub.

Will be doing a 4th order for a single 15" Q. Was going to make the sealed chamber 1.8cubes and the ported chamber around 4 cubes and tune around 44-48 with 16-20" of port per cube. Does anyone see any issue with this...

Found pretty vague threads on this subject, so posting my own. Just wondering how well the BTL would hold up on a T2500-1bdCP rockford wired down to 1 ohm. This is my first Fi sub and i don't know how touchy they are. I'm going keep the box within specs ofc. 34 Hz, etc.....upgraded the electrical and have a guy thats excellent at tuning. I'm not crazy with the volume or gain so I figure running this beast at 2500 shouldn't be a problem, but just wanted to make sure with you guys if you have any experience with this. Thanks.

Will a 3.1 cuft enclosure (after all displacement) tuned to 38 hz work for a 15" Fi Q? With the size of my truck, this is the largest box that i could fit in there. How will this work?

So I have a problem I am getting ready to make a ported box for my BTL 12 that is fully loaded. my big question is how do I tune my port to 32hz? the dimensions are 18w x 14h x 20d which comes out to be 2.20812 cubic feet. can I please get some help and advice I used a slot port calc but I guess the port length looked funny to me. Subwoofer Enclosure Calculators, Fraction to Decimal, Parallel, Series, Port Length and Volume Calculators Thank you

I know that FI can recone the 3hp motors(3000's) w/ the tall top plate. Its has the 4 holes on the top plate. I know you machine adapters. My question is, instead of sending 70 lbs of motors to you to be reconed, could you just send me the recones/baskets adapters and I'll do it myself. It'll prob save a bunch of money and possible shipping damage( I don't have good luck )... Thanks, Joe. P

Im looking around locally for a place to build a box for 2 15's. Ive heard of a place called precision audio but I'm not too sure if they use quality material/planning/preparation/etc. All I know is they charge about 250-300 for a box. Does this sound reasonable to you? I know there are a whole bunch of variables but judging from your past purchases and stuff, let me know, thanks.

I am on the verge building an 8 cube sealed box for a Fi Q18 which I will be buying in the next 2 weeks. I was set on everything until I came across one question. Do I need to have a 1 inch baffle? I plan on double baffle flush mounting. I was going to build is all from 3/4" MDF with a lot of internal bracing. No polyfill since I am maxing out the dimensions. My dimensions are: W:40" D:21" H:21" (will fit nicely in the spot of the room i picked ) Besides the baffle question, does anyone see any problems with my plans?

I have a 95 single cab Nissan pickup and want to put 1 10" SSD back there. I have buckets seats with about 10 1/2 - 11" of room between them don't have exact demensions and limited room behind the seats. If I have enough room I want a ported box but will use a sealed box due to the limited space. I also want to have a center console.

I was wondering if someone could help me with box size/measurements. I have a Ford Explorer, I am going to be running a Sundown 3000d with this(Dual 1 BTL 18"). Space I have available, 40in Wide|30in High|75 deep(I don't use this area at all so it can be as big as it has to be).

Hey guys I have a question about the Q series woofers: a 12 Q in a ported box or a 15 Q in a sealed box is what I am debating now given a 2.5 ft box for either one: 1.) which will be louder? 2.) which will play lower? 3.) which will have better SQ for rock?

So heres the deal: I bought 2 12 X's A few months back during the clearance, and I put them in a horrible prefab ported box with circle ports and after about 2 days, a blown out side panel. Supposed to get 1.6-2.2 cuft in a ported box, I think theyre getting 1 each. It sounds decent I guess, but if I get it past about 1/3 volume, I get the worse port noise I've ever heard. I just got back from Home Depot, and I bought a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 MDF. I'm planning on starting the construction of my new box tomorrow. I've decided on sealed, because to be honest, theres about 0 chance of me successfully building a ported box. Here are the stats for the X series 12's: Sealed box: .9-…

  22. The tech page says the cooling option increases power handling by 200-500 watts depending on install and scenario. Would I be wrong in guessing a sealed enclosure (in the neighborhood of 1.2 cu ft) would put it towards the higher end of that increase estimate?
