  2. So i just ordered my 15" BL sub, and im getting it soon and cant wait, but im kind of stuck on what amp to run it off. I was looking at the Kicker ZX 1500 amp, using all Monster cables to power it. however, before i spend my money on this amp, i want to be sure that it will be the right amp? is there any other amp that could be better for me to get around the same price as the kicker amp? i rlly want my sub to pound, but sound good at the same time. thanks alot to anyone who helps me out

what is the recommended port area for ssd's? box will be around 5 cubes tuned to around 33hz. 1 port 5" wide 20.75" long would give me 75 square inches. and 4.5" wide 17.25" long is 67.5. is one better that the other? and y? also just curious how much does a 12" SSD weigh and a 12" Q?

I was wondering if it would be possible to use a Q 12 in an infinite baffle setup. I would only be using around 300-400 watts. Any help would be much appreciated. (I know Fi has an IB sub, but since I have the Q already I would like to use it. If not then ill end up selling it and get the IB3 )

i got rid of my RE SE 15 recently. ran it in 3 cube sealed, amazing lows, but looking for more output sealed if poss. could i expect more output with a Q 15 sealed due to higher excursion than the SE? if not and ported is the only way, will the Q 15 work well with a 28hz tuning in a box smaller than 4 cubes? my goal is amazing low end extension like my SE had sealed, just louder. i dont feel that a Q 12 will be capable sealed of this compared to the RE 15. amp is a Sundown sae-1200d

Hey I'm hoping to have a Sonic FX Q 12" very soon (assuming DHL can find it ) I was wondering if you guys could recone it in the worst cast scenario were it gets blown??? It is very similar (practically the same thing) to Incriminator Audio's Death Penalty series, (in case you don't recognize the sub). I was just wondering what soft parts you would use in reconing it??? BTL, BL, Q ???? If you need more info on the sub let me know and I'll try and find it for ya. Thanks! Jon

OK well, apparently the I didnt have a clean enough cut and the glue didnt hold my 1in thick dowels very well. The bass eventually flexed the fudge out of them. One came off and the other, well snapped... I noticed ever since around that time, the sub hits, but not as hard. Like its loud, but i used to have trouble breathing in or talking. Now I dont. Could the bracing have something to do with this since the box is flexing so much without it? Just a question is all. Didnt plan on replacing it.

  10. hey guys, I have a wedge box that goes behind my bench seat in my truck. its about 2.8ft3 before sub and port displacement. right now i have a 4in round port that is about 7-7.1in in length. so that puts me at about 35hz tunning wize. however i just upgraded my amp and bought a SSD. so i want to mkae sure for port is good. i will be re tunning to about 33hz so that will make my port longer. however should i upgrade to a 5in round? i dont know much about what would make a good port. i thought as long as it was tuned to the right hz it didnt matter. please offer any advise. i cant wait for the SSD to get in!

It is 6.5 cufeet internally tuned to 30hz with 111 inches of port area. What is your guys thoughts on it? to much/to little port area? not enough room inside the box? just post what you think on it.

i have the base model q18 and a 1kw amp that has been tested to put out 1200wrms. i have my q in a large box behind my seat in my truck and i can smell the coil a little if i blast it for a couple mins. the amp was set correctly with a dmm so i know its not clipping. so i was wondering if there was anything i could do to improve the cooling so it doesnt get so hot. could i add the bp optioned vent plug to the pole or would i need to sent it in to get work done to it. i dont want to void any warranty so if you could help fi guys that would be cool.

Am using two Q 15s but in to seperate cambers that are in 2.9-3.0 cuft enclosures after all displacement, is this too small?. Would it be better to use a single or a dual camber? I was told that the single would hit harder. What do you guys think? The box is tune to 30Hz using a port that is 2 X 14 and 16.75 inches long. Am still in da building stages so i can change some things just alittle if its necessary.

ok, just installed my new 15qd2 with bp today. 4.8 cuft ported at 28 hz...rockford p1000-1bd. yes thing slams louder then i could have imagined. only one problem. i think i will be able to get rid of most of the trunk rattle, but it's the sunroof then driving me nuts. i need to get an sd card reader to load some pics and vids from my phone... every time i start playing some really low notes, the sunroof starts banging so bad that's about all i hear inside. anyone have this issue or know how to fix it? any ideas would be great! oh yes it's a 99' infiniti i30.
