jl 12 w-0 4 ohm. can this be reconed?

Does the copper option affect (lower?) the power handling? Since the flatwind increases power handling, decreases SQ, and the copper increases SQ a bit, the copper must have some kind of trade off, which I was thinking was a loss of power handling. Just wondering, Trevor

Could one of you check my port length for me? 4 cubes @ 32Hz with 2.75" wide x 20.5" tall port is what I'm aiming for. I used an online calculator and it said the port needed to be 29.5" long... but someone else told me it needed to be like 36.5"? Thanks a lot

im doing an instll in a 88 s-10 blazer for 2 12" ssd's for everyday use tuned around 33 what type of box do you guys think will be best? i was thinking about a crx type box but what size box/port should i go with?

I am having trouble figuring out the proper dimensions and port area for 2 12inch Q's. I want to have a total of 4 cubes tuned to 32 hz. Any recommendations?

hey i got some cliff designs cd120c and im looking for recones need to handle about 1400+ rms they will be on a rd 1750 for now but im upgrading to a sundown 3000d. got anything. pics thanks

Can I get a recone for 2 jl 12 w6's? My boy just smoked them and gave them to me. The only specs that I could find was, 300 watts rms, 2.5 inch coil, 11.1 xmax, and they are dual 6 ohm coils. And the dust cap comes with the recone? And what would be the new spes with the recone?

Hey guys, I'm looking to build my own vented enclosure (my first) for a 12" BTL fully loaded. I have looked at the box builder programs, but am having trouble. Would someone please design on for me? The maximum dimensions are 15"H x 34"L x 30"D. I plan on making it double baffle, and adding a magnet holder. But I guess before finalizing a design, I was thinking that it should be tuned to 35Hz, what do you guys think? Thanks for the help in advance, Justin

I have an 18 SX that I would like to have reconed. What is the procedure to have the sub sent in and reconed? What would the estimated price and shipping to 30286 (Georgia) cost? I emailed Fi Car Audio about a month ago, but unfortunately, I never got a reply. I've sent a couple more emails here and there, but still, no luck. I am looking for a recone for an SSA Icon motor and was wondering if you could do it. I am looking for max SQ as it is going to be for home use with a pair of B&W DM603 speakers. I also need a basket, I am looking for a 12" recone and basket.

I have 2 12" Fi Q's and im probobly going to order a subthump box for them, because I hear subthump makes one of the best prefab boxes for Camaros and Trans-Ams. However, these boxes only have a total of about 2 cu. ft. and after diplacement that would only leave me about .85 cu. ft. per sub. These boxes dont take up the whole rear well though, so if you guys think it would be worth it, I could cut out part of the bottom of the box and add some space down there. Thanks, Ben

hi im about to order a bl which im gonna use for my daily setup. but i also wanted to use it for spl comps locally so i wanted to make 2 different boxes. i have a mini van so size is not a concern i can make a box in the back as big as 20 cubes. so can u guys help me w/ measurements and stuff??

Simply as the title has stated. Scott do you have enough parts to build another X 12 for me? or a recone for my current sub? or possibly just a dustcap and some tensil so i could fix the sub myself? What would be the cost of these different things if they are even available? Thankss!

Enclosure to Fi Audio Q10 Ported Spec's - 1.2 cu.ft. @ 33Hz Thanks to the folks at Fi Audio Tech Support for providing the dimensional spec's for the subwoofer, subwoofer has just enough clearance for mounting depth.

I have a excursion w/2 -18 Q's and want to know if i can tune them to 30hz instead of 28hz? and should i have the port and subs firing to the rear or facing up? all my boxes always had the port and sub on the same side.I would face them to the rear. I would face my box up and the bass cuts in half. Will this do same if i face the subs up and the port to the rear? I want to get the most that i can get out of subs and box. Any input....

Im ordering a 15 Q soon and am going to start on my box for it. I was messing with re box calculator and having a few problems getting the right size, i have limited space in the trunk of my civic. I am going to run it ported at around 32hz and would like to get as much cubic feet as i can out of my trunk, any help would be appreciated. Box can not be wider than 34 inches, can not be taller than 16 inches, and can not be deeper than 18 inches, any help would be a appreciated. what size of wires do ppl use for the 12" ssd?

I posted on another thread about needing the addy to send a motor in for recone, just didn't want to assume its the website address.. Also is it possible to do a full poly cap on a 3hp 18" recone along the lines of the 10" full FI logo one I saw in a earlier thread, or maybe from a HAVOC 18" plain?? Hi, I have been looking at FI for a while and I am thinking about getting 4 Q 12's. I will be running 2 MTX TA92001 amps which put out 3000 watts rms @1 ohm or 2000 @2 ohms. would 1000 watts (2 ohm setup) be enough to max out the sub or should I run a 1 ohm setup and just turn it down a little bit and give it more power. also, I have about 10 cu ft of trunk space and i am probably going to run 2 cubes ported for each sub. Should i seperate each sub in its own 2 cube box with its own port or just build a big box with no seperaters and one big port. and one final question for those of you who have had experience with the Q's and the BL's. How much louder will the BL's get …

says they're rated at 1000rms im getting 2 18" BLs d1s with cooling options, could they handle 1600rms a peice? my box is built its 8.5 cubes (before sub displacement) tuned to 35hz
