Ok I have read many posts and I think its something I will need. The Q cant take 2000w daily I dont think. I want to run my Autotek mm2000.1. If I buy the dual 1 and run in at 2 ohms the Q will get 1500 daily. I dont really compete, just little local shows. I think that much daily I should probably get the BP option just to be safe. Does it take away from SQ with the changes that are made? Am I better off selling my amp and buying something smaller?

Hey guys im looking to try out the maxx link but i have a question for ya. Im gonna be running 4 kicker zx2500.1 amps and 2 18in Btl dual 1 ohm subs. The zx amps are 2 ohm stable and i was wondering if there is any possible configuration to have the amps see a 2ohm load once strapped. Also would i be better without the maxx link and running each amp to each coil? What ohm loads could i see there. thanks

Could somebody tell me what the diameter of the magnet is on the 12" BTL. And, what is the mounting depth of the same sub is. And one more thing, if I build a box that is 5" at the top, 11" at the bottom, 20" tall, and 40" wide, will that be enough room to fit a 12" BTL with just cooling(will it be deep enough)?

  9. Hey everybody, I have a BL 15 dual 2 with every option except universal and extreme leads. I am currently giving the sub about 1400 watts RMS. I am pretty sure that it can handle this, but since it is quite a bit above the rated power I just wanted to be sure that I am not going to blow the sub (because it gets REALLY loud). I am sort of afraid to turn it up all the way right now so any advice would be appreciated. My amp is a Lanzar Opti2000D and my head unit is a Pioneer DEH-P6900UB (if that matters...) ok, just installed my new 15qd2 with bp today. 4.8 cuft ported at 28 hz...rockford p1000-1bd. yes thing slams louder then i could have imagined. only one problem. i think i will be able to get rid of most of the trunk rattle, but it's the sunroof then driving me nuts. i need to get an sd card reader to load some pics and vids from my phone... every time i start playing some really low notes, the sunroof starts banging so bad that's about all i hear inside. anyone have this issue or know how to fix it? any ideas would be great! oh yes it's a 99' infiniti i30.

Hey I'm looking to run two Loaded BL 15s. Will these hold approx. 1700 rms each? for light daily use and some compeition use as well? Also is there a tuning frequency that I can get where they will drop hard and still be loud on about 45 hz tones for comps or do I need to just build two interchangable boxes? What size would you reccomend if I'm driving a Jeep and have a lot of room. This is a crappy first thread I know but I am looking for advice direct from the Fi experts lol.

So I'm chosing to buy a FI BL18. Just two things I would like a bit of help on. First should I buy the FI BL18? I'm wanting a 18" sub, but I don't know how well this runs, I want to know from other peoples experience of how well this subwoofer is. Also i'm aiming for LSQ partly but don't want the rattling and horrible distorted bass sound. My friend is running a 7 year old sub (of course its old so makes up most of the problem) and it sounds pretty bad when he turns it up. I'm going to install this sub into my Chevy Tahoe in back behind the seat. Tell me if I should change anything but i'm deciding to do this. Dual 1 or Dual 2? (Be honest I don't know what the heck which …

ok guys, currently now I have an 18" BL fully loaded for daily. Its being powered by a JBL BP1200.1 at 1200 watts. Its in a 5 cu ft box tuned to 30Hz firing upward. The reason it is firing upward is because I cannot fit an 18" into my trunk rear facing. With a 15" though...I would be able to fit it rear firing into my trunk. So my question is...what sort of difference would i see? obviously i'd see a drop in ouput i'd imagine...but at the saem time, would it be noticable? Right now my BL is fully loaded for daily driving (daily option, flat wind, cooling). So at 1200 watts, even though its 200 over RMS, it isn't really pushing the sub to that much of its capability im gu…

I'm looking at a BTL15, because I've heard good things. But until I get enough, I would probably be running 1 Sundown 1500d on the BTL15. If I got it optioned out, would it be able to handle a pair of strapped 1500d's? How much can a optioned daily driver BTL handle?

I want to buy Q 10's. I am looking at ported box specs and there is a pretty wide range. I am looking for flat response and good SQ with a punch. I listen to metal and rap mostly depending on the day. They will each get 1000 watts in the trunk of Grand Prix. i was looking to do 28.75 sq inches of port for both, will that be enough, or will i benefit from upping it to 31.625

Hello, I'm lookin at getting an 18" BL, but my major problem is that my trunk is too short to fit an 18" sub in facing the rear of the car. So I came up with a slightly angled design that would shorten it by a couple of inches. My question, however, is if the basket of the sub will hit the bottom of the box at any part, since the sub is sitting at an angle. I drew up a diagram in Paint of the exact lengths and angles. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I currently have the SSD's w/ copper coil in about a cube sealed. My buddy had a box, 3.5 @ 32hz I believe, that he said I could use if I needed. Would that box be good for the SSD's or will it be too small? I could use the slight bump in output, unless the box is too small.

Hey guys, I've been messing around with ideas for my subwoofer and I have a way maybe that'll help with my predicament. Currently, I have a 1995 Honda Accord Sedan and the 18" is to big I believe to fit in rear facing. Currently I have it horizontally mounted. However...after looking through some of the build logs, I am debating about whether doing a slanted box or not. My question to you guys is, what types of effects will I see of this? Ideally, I wanted to do it rear facing. But i dont think that will happen. So i've compromised with it angled. it will still be around a 5 cu ft box and about a 60 degree angle the subw ill be mounted on. Any big difference you guys thin…

Well, here's the deal. I've been running my 15" Q in a sealed box for the last month or so and I am wanting to build a ported box for it sometime soon and need help getting a design together. I have no problem building stuff, I'm just no good at getting something together that will be right for my application (right ft^3, right port size, cut sizes, etc.). Below is a pic. of the largest outside dimensions I can possibly go with. The 4" rise is to clear the tranny hump (it's going in an ext. cab silverado.) I'm wanting something tuned to ~33 hz or so. If anyone can get together a design for me, that would be great. Just send me a PM or reply on here and we can go into fu…

Can someone tell me if this port size is right for what I want. Box size is 12.91 cubes after subs and port displacement. the port size is 23hx7wx14.56d = 32Hz. Is this right? 2-18'' Q's will be used in this box. Looking for it to hit really hard and will this box hit loud and hard? the subs will see about 6.45 cubes each. Is this box good for the Q's to hit really hard in?ready to build today....
