If anyone has tried this could you tell me what you think of it? I'm trying to build a wall that is all funky shaped. Trying to smash 4 18's into a Ford Explorer. found this program but would just like to know if anyone else has used and what you think of it. The bottom is 37" deep x 52" wide then go to 33" deep x 18.5 " high. Top is 33" deep x 52" wide 18.5" high Grand total of 37" tall x 52" wide and the depth. Trying to utilize every bit of room I can so I can still have room for batteries and amps. Plus the ports gotta go in there to. Any help on any other programs or any ideas would be appreciated. Got it drawn out on paper. Kinda to scale it down to where it will …

  3. Hi, I have bought 2 Fi BL's and I am in need of some advice for a good box for it. It will be going into a 2010 Dodge Charger and the space I am working with is 18" H, 32"W, and 32"L. I would like to tune the box to around 33 HZ. I will also be hooking this up to a Hifonics 2000 for right now...hope to move to the sae 1200d later on. Any comments on dimensions for a box and port would be greatly appreciated. Also an idea of where to point the subs and port to get a decent bout loud sound. Thanks!

Anyone or ficaraudio, could sketch me a rough design for a single 15" Fi Q w/out bp power, d2 off a 1200watt @ 1ohm Vented enclosure Here is what i got to play with, for space *truck* 35" Width 20" Height 17" Depth Open to whatever tune, i want it to be low/loud but sounds good at the same time. Listen to rap/reggae mostly. Gonna use .75" MDF Thanks in advance! I wanna get started building my enclosure. Currently using reaudio box design software on their site...

  5. So I am trying to decide on which Fi.Q I want... Either the 10 or the 12. My plan is to build a custom sealed enclosure to sit in between the second row captains chairs in my Tahoe, and the sub will down fire. I am leaning more toward the 10 because of space constraints... the maximum size enclosure I can fit in there is 27" L X 14" W X 10" H... So would y'all recommend the 10 or 12 with that, and what cubic footage for the enclosure? Also, What amps would pair well with the Fi? I listen to some rap, but mainly mashups, EDM, and lots of rock/country (basically everything hahaha) Side question... I don't know if any of y'all have a Tahoe with the Bose upgraded sound…

Ok guys heres the situation. I ordered a BL 15 with cooling and flat wind dual 2 ohm. I'm building a box myself and having trouble on what to do with the port. The box is planned at 3.76 ft^3 with the woofer displacement added in. Its recommended to have 12-16 sq in of port per cube so i need anywhere from 45-60 sq in of port. I want to just maybe slap a 3x6 aero port or maybe a 4x6 aero port. The 3x6 is 42 sq in and the 4x6 is 75. Both not in the range i need. Also looked on amazon and found precision ports 3 in and a 4 in round. Doesn't say the length on them tho . Reviews say there adjustable somehow. Help would be appreciated. Also wanted some recommendations on ampl…

well I have a single BTL18 now and was wondering the smallest box that 2 could fit in or if I might want to look at 2 15's. I have 36X30 for a box now and wondering how tall I would need to make it to fit either 1 more 18 or 2 15's also would like the tuneing around 35. If someone can help with this it would shure help. Hello everyone. I am receiving a 12 inch Q for Christmas which I am rather pleased about because Fi woofers are class... I was wondering what I should do about a box, the woofer is going in my bedroom instead of a car but all the reviews I have read about the Q lead me to it. It will be used entirely for music, rock, techno, a little pop, and perhaps some rap to show off a little. The room is about 8x10x8 with a chunk removed that is about a 18 inches by 3 feet for a closet, so not a terribly large room. One of my questions is the great sealed vs ported debate, which would sound better in this application. The Q will be more than plenty in a room this size either way. I…

I am toying with the idea of putting 2 12" SSDs in a ported box. My original plan was to seal them, but I don't know what kind of output I would get. Could someone help me design a ported box for these subs? I am totally new to ported boxes so I don't know where to start. I'd like to maintain as much SQ as possible and gain as much output as possible. Dimension wise, my trunk could accomodate a box 39" across and 17" high. Depth is negotiable, depending on the size of box needed. Thanks in advance for the help.

I just bought two 15 fi Q's with BP and a aq2200 to power them at one ohm. Running 0ga and doing the big three also plan on another battery and a HO alt soon. My question is with the box setup, its my first time buliding one and would like to do it right. The max demensions are H 16 W 42 L 28,.(ported) i was thinking around 32 or 33 hz.. But i could be wrong? i want the lows and alot of bass but sound good aswell. my other question is should i put a divider and run a port for each sub or have them both to one port? Any input is helpfull thanks

Simply as the title has stated. Scott do you have enough parts to build another X 12 for me? or a recone for my current sub? or possibly just a dustcap and some tensil so i could fix the sub myself? What would be the cost of these different things if they are even available? Thankss!

i sent you an email regarding a technical aspect of the BTL. its regarding info on if there is a way to physically measure the gap on a btl motor to identify a SPL motor from a Daily gapped motor. i talked to Nick about this issue, but after being convinced that my btl was a daily gapped motor...i now am doubting it. i took the woofer out of the box today and the sound it makes is just so mechanical metallic sounding on music. this to me would suggest a spl gapped motor. this motor originally belonged to kenny pollock and he said the SPL and daily option were not available at the time when this motor was made. however, it does have all the other options on it (fully loade…

Ok right now I have the Q 15's and I've gotten used to them so I want to upgrade to the BL series. My question is, ok i want the same freqency response as the Q's have cause I like how they perform down low, but I need to know which options in the BL should I go with to have a good daily woofer? I was thinking of going with the cooling, flatwind, daily, and universal options because I am not looking to do any competing just some really bad street beating. But Im a little skeptical about the cooling option because it says that there is less metal in the motor thus making it a little weaker? So should I just go with p/chamfer, flatwind, daily, and universal because I dont w…

  21. I was told by other members of this forum to email Fi about this topic, which i did, but I have not got a reply and it's been about a month since i sent the message. Any chance Fi still has recones for D4 X 12's? Or should I invest in an Ascendant Assain? Also, its just the leads. I've replaced the leads on one of my D4 X's already so i know i could do it, but i cut through the cone getting the dustcap off. Maybe I could ship the sub to Fi to get it repaired since they deal with things like this all the time? I'm just exploring my options! Since it's been so long without my sub, I am willing to repair it myself again. All I will need is four leads and a dustcap. Depe…

  22. Started by Robert.Metzel,

Before my son was born, I was running 18's and I really miss the output of that setup. So I am thinking of sending in my 12's to get re-coned as 18's, or if its not to hard, just doing the re-cone myself. Yes, I am tempted to off load the two 12"s and just get a 18' xcon or BTL, but with hardly any more power, and 1/2 the cone area, this setup should be louder theoretically. Secondly, I am not a box designer at all and I am completely lost as to what works and doesn't. This is a daily setup. I don't compete. Using RE's Calculator just as a ref, it looks like the max volume I am able to get is around 13.5 cubes before displacement. That is leaving a bit of space between…

Ok, I give up. I need some more direction in building a ported enclosure for my Q10. Right now, it has about .5ft^3 in a sealed enclosure and I really love the way it sounds, I would just like it a little louder (or alot haha.) But anyway, this is in an extended cab S10. I have to admit, its alittle underpowered with my Sundown sae-1000d because it wired at 2ohms. So it gets about 600rms. Any ideas? I would like to use tube for my ports if possible, not really a fan of slot ports, but i'm open to anything. Thanks, Mike B.

I finally ordered knukonceptz wiring today, and it should be here within a few days, and i'm planning on making one last trip to the hardware store. I was planning on screwing the sub in, but i really dont want to anymore because 1. not sure if it will be sufficient and 2. the image of silver bolts coming out the sides of the black sub seems badass So what size (diameter) bolts should i ask for? The hole is 3/16, but do they make a bolt that size? Thanks for reading, Mitch o btw, the sub is 18 bl, doubt it matters though.
