The box I'm building is for a single Fully loaded BTL 15. The design i came up with has the following specs: 4.5 cubes after displacement and bracing, tuned at 32hz with 64sq/in of port. My goal is just a loud ass daily ground pounder. My question is just does this box seem too big/small, and is 64sq/in too much port? thanks

I will be using a eD nine.1 for the power to the woofer...the woofer is D2 and a 12"....Will the woofer perfrom well in a sealed enclsore? also what kind cubic footage do I need? Also do you happen to know off hand the displacement of the woofer? thanks carl

By the end of next week I will test the sx 15 with dual 2's, and the Bl 15 with dual 2s, and p chamfer. I will test them both in a 3ft3 enclosure tuned around 49hz. Which do you all think will be the Louder sub? I'm not going to post the results, out of respect for the two companies.

This is for my buddy thats in Iraq. Im doing all of this for him while he is gone. The vehicle in a 2001 Chevy Silverado EXT Cab. He needs the back seat due to a child. http://www.supercrewsound.com/shop/detail/11/242.htm thats the box we decided on. He wont have to raise his seat any and it will fit no problem. Now the question is should he get 12" or 10" FI SSDs. if he gets the 12" they will be in about .71cuft each and if he gets the 10" they will be in about .73cuft. The amp is the Kicker ZX1500.1. He listens to rap/rock/country you name it he listens to it. What would you guys suggest? Would polyfill help the lack of space for the 12" Any help would be great guys.

which fi sub would sound the best in my ~7 cube box. its about 3.5 cubes before port so about 3 cubes per sub. the box is tuned to 29hz and since its the biggest possible box i was able to make that fits in and out of my trunk with ease thats all i really wanted. so i want to keep the box but by the specs of the sub which would get loudest in this prefab box.

Started on my box today for a single Fi Q 15" (still haven't ordered it yet though...). I just had to order from Fi as after reading tons of reviews and talking to a few people, I have heard nothing but great things, whether it be the great quality, customer service, and pricing. Anyway the box is sealed (thought I'd make my first build a little easier on myself...). The Q's should do well in both sealed and ported enclosures, correct? I double layered the top to make it 1.5" thick. The inside dimensions of the box are 11.75" tall x 20.5" wide x 20.5" deep. Total is 2.86ft.^3. Subtract the sub displacement from that and the grand total is 2.67ft.^3. The .7 (almost a 1" cu…

Someone with a lot of experience might be able to tell me what the results of my plans could be? I really don't want to make another huge box a month or so from now, and wood is expensive, so I was planning on building a 20cube box @ 32hz for my 2 btls 18s I have now. In another month or so I plan on getting another 2 btls, which I could simply cut 2 more holes for them and use the same box. does this sound reasonable? I'm sure the first two subs would be OK with that much space, but will there be any real negative effects to doing this? I know there will be a slight change to the specs after the displacement from the subs, but it will only be around 1/2 a foot. Thanks a …

Before you tell me to look at the sticky, let me explain. I looked at the sticky and it said that the a cut list and more in depth enclosure recommendations would be available soon, and that was a long while ago. If anyone has experimented A LOT with the 18 SSD please explain it to me. How much port area, size, tuning, wattage, sub and port placement, and pictures if possible. I really would appreciate anything you can give me.

I'm only going to be running around 700 - 1100 watts rms to the sub when playing music. Probally no more than 10 min sessions. And the sub will probally move no more than 3/8 of an inch in excursion each way. Will I have any problems with this small amonunt of excursion?

Can a BL 15 with flatwind coil, and p. chamfer take 1000 watts or so rms for an hour or so at a time, and 1700 watts rms for spl burps? Or does the sub need the cooling option? In 3 ft3 enclosure tuned to 48hz.

I have a 2000w amp on my fully optioned BTl and i know this sub can handle more power than that, so why is my btl's dust cap hot to the touch and "industrial smell" coming from the sub and port?

I read the recommendations for each speaker, but still have a few questions. First, I'm going to be ordering a dual 2ohm fully loaded 15BTL, Its going to be for daily with roughly 2500rms to it. My question is, is going fully loaded the right choice? Or will some of the options hurt the power handling instead of help it? For instance the universal option because of the gap size? thanks for the help

I know a guy selling a BTL motor, he said it was custom machined for 1.4 ohm coils, this sub could only be reconed to 1.4 VC's correct? And would I have to order a custum recone kit for it being it is an unstandard 1.4 VC vs the standard 2 ohm or 1 ohm vc's?

I may be getting a blown Q 18" in a trade with a gentelman over on ROE, I want to recone it down to a 15" or a 12" , probably a 15". The guy said Scott quoted him $75 for an 18" recone kit, how much is the 15" and the 12" recone kit plus a 15" or 12" basket.

I got a baffel cut for my 12" box so I could convert it to accept my BL 10", I have a box uilt to spec for the BL only its for 2 BL's. I have not got around to ordering the 2nd (money) so I had to put it in something else until I get the second. My dual box is common chamber, so I cant run it that way without the other sub. So, I put the BL in the 2.15 cuft box powered by my 9.1, 1200 rms, its very loud and low, only, I know its not good for the sub to be in a box thats too big. I hear it will make the sub super efficient (spelling) , I am thinking to add some MDF to the box to shrink it down or run the sub at 4 ohms (450 rms) until I can get the 2nd one for the dual inst…
