Quick question...I've had my heart set on the 12" Q (after much reading on this and the BL) with my main intentions towards sound quality. Im putting this in my trunk of a jetta and my question is.....is the sound quality going to really be that prevalent through the back seats? Maybe i shouldve gone BL? thanks in advance

Ok I'm picking between the lanzer opti 2000 or 1400. Based on the specs at a 1ohm load with the 2000 I would be getting around 1600 watts "give or take" running to the sub right? With the 1400 the max is about 1300 but I would expect like 1000 or a little around 1000 like 900 something at 1ohm. Which one would u guys pick between the 2? Just for reminder I have the Fi Q 15 with bp option Man reason I'm asking is I don't wanna over power my sub.

Hi all, I just recently switched my Q10 from being sealed in an ext. cab S10 to .9cuft port enclosure in an '88 BMW 325ix. I took a ton of time designing the box for the bimmer because I was looking for more output down low so I shot for 27hz using 4in PVC. I got it all built up and installed and I'm slightly disappointed with it so far. Things just don't seem loud enough. I figured going ported AND in a larger cab compared to the S10 I would get more output but I'm getting significantly less. I must add, the enclosure is sealed up to the rear firewall firing into the cabin of the car through the ski pass hole so I have zero trunk rattle. I don't know how this would affec…

Doing some box designs and wanted a little help on picking what hrtz to tune the box at. I read the post from Fi about tuning and it says anywhere beteween 30-37 hrtz. I will have around 8.5 cuft for each sub and wanted to hear some suggestions on tuning. The enclosure will have the ports facing twords the rear with the subs mounted on the top side of the enclosure. I listin to mostly rap music and want it to be loud as it can be. The subs will be pushed by 2 Alpine PDX 1000.1's for now, but down the road will be pushed by 2 PDX's on each 18 1 on each voice coil at 2ohms for a total of 2000 watts to each sub. Thanks, this site has helped me alot so far, the best sit…

Im currently using the RE Enclosure calculator (http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html) and after putting in the dimensions I can fit in my trunk and Im playing around with port size and what not and I was curious, the "tech" section on the Fi site says the recommended tuning is 33hz, I can only get my box to fit if I tune it around 34hz, is this an issue? would it be better to be lower than ideal if you cant get the ideal 33hz like 32hz instead... Or am I not even gonna notice? Also, again refering to the "tech" section, for the 10s it recommends 15 square inches of vent per cubic foot of air space, is it a major issue if I can only work around 12 square …

In another fourm Im being told I need to change my tuning frequency from 32hz to around 60hz. Im running a FI q 12 d2 with a Crossfire VR 1000d. It would be for outlaw spl only not daily. FI doesnt recommend going outside of there suggestions, could any harm be done to my sub by tuning it this high ? Would there be any gains ?

I took my woofer to my install bay today and they were shocked I wanted to tune to 33hz. They felt that was way too low. Now, I listen to all types of music, pop, #1 hits, old school rock etc... but mostly Sirius hio channels and some Ipod songs (JayZ etc...) I just want to be sure this box is tuned to where I need it to be. He wants to build it to 4 cubic ft and tune it to 38 - 40hz but I see almost everyone on here tuned lower. Thoughts?

  11. I just picked up two BTL 18's, dual 2's, fully loaded, and will be running them off of two modded Memphis Mojo MC-2000d amplifiers (1 on each driver at 1 ohm), approx. 3000 watts each. In my vehicle, which is a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, I don't have a whole lot of useable space to work with and still maintain practicality, so the enclosure is going to be a bit tight for specs. I will run the subs inverted to try to save as much airspace as I can, but I only have a total of 11.2 cubes to work with, before port displacement. I will be able to run 4.7 cubes per driver after displacement, while running more than sufficient power to the drivers, at 3000 watts per. Fi recommends…

Hey I'm looking to run two Loaded BL 15s. Will these hold approx. 1700 rms each? for light daily use and some compeition use as well? Also is there a tuning frequency that I can get where they will drop hard and still be loud on about 45 hz tones for comps or do I need to just build two interchangable boxes? What size would you reccomend if I'm driving a Jeep and have a lot of room. This is a crappy first thread I know but I am looking for advice direct from the Fi experts lol.

My question is with the box setup, its my first time buliding one and would like to do it right. The max demensions are H 16 W 42 L 28,.(ported) i was thinking around 32 or 33 hz.. But i could be wrong? i want the lows and alot of bass but sound good aswell. my other question is should i put a divider and run a port for each sub or have them both to one port? Any input is helpfull thanks

hey guys i'm about to get a box built by a friend and was wondering what the best size enclosure would be for my 12" Q. I've searched and read the website which recommends 1.8-2.5 @ 28-33 hz. I've heard mixed opinions, as I should as its personal preference, but what seems to be the best size/tuning for this sub for maximum output while maintaining good sound quality? Thanks!

Hello everyone, I am trying to decide if I should just get an amp that will do full power at 2 ohms or order a D1 BL 10 and a recone for my BL 10 with the universal option. My current amp is 1 ohm stable, it "Can" run at .5 but only if my electrical system can support it, which it cant because its all stock. So, on to the real question, if I just order another BL 10 D2 and run my eD 9.1 at 2 ohms for 900 to 1000 watts rms, will my BL's still sound decent with only 500 watts rms. I know underpowering will not hurt a sub unless you clip, I know the recommended rms for the BL is 1000 rms, I know I should have considered all of this BEFORE I ordered my BL in D2. But I had pla…

what does Universal option do to the sub frequencies response? will it make the SPL lower since the motor is not optimised for the coil impedence chosen? or does it give the 'peaky' effect like flatwind?

I'm just curious as to why the Universal option isn't on the subs by default? It doesn't cost any extra money, yet i do not see any disadvantages of having it done to a sub even if you do not want it. So... is there any disadvantage of having it even if someone doesn't want it?

Hate to be that noobie, but I've scoured the web and everything I can find for the options refers to the old options and none of the newer ones that are selectable. Could someone help a noob out here? haha.
