  1. I am not entirely sure about box dimensions and all. I want forward facing subs. I know 15's will work, but wonder if I could manage an 18. These are going in the bed of my truck with a fiberglass flat shell on top. I am pretty sure the depth of the bed of the truck is 20 or 21". Would I be able to build a box that will fit in this for 18's, or is it way to tight?

What is a good program to use that can help me put my idea on paper? I want to have a setup with two sealed drivers in the back of my blazer (15/18 still undecided). I want to have them stacked like an 8, except I want the top one to be inverted this will be in a fiberglass box painted black with lightning airbrushing. I just wish I had a program that would allow me to rig a detailed example of what this would look like.... Thanks

  3. Obviously, you can already tell I am major noob at all this, but learning. I am getting the 4 15" BL's when I save up enough to do everything. What I need to know is what Ohm do I need to pick for the BL's. I have yet to get a amp. I was hoping to run 2 amps, maybe the Kicker 2500.1, but not sure. Any and all info on what Ohm setting and amp I should get would make my day better. Thanks.

Here is my problem/hold up. I am getting a new truck, one for pure audio fun, full size of course. I will be doing a cut through, so the entire bed is game. I want tons of SPL, enough to make your stomach almost turn. I want 4 15's and am not sure what to go with BTL or BL. I know I need some good amps to push them. What all power wise (wires, alt, extra batteries) would I need and about how much/where can I get a alternator from. I have some crap P3's now and want to do a massive jump up. I got addicted and my friends are killin me, want to destroy them. Thanks

Just being curious, about how nice would 4 15's, either BTL or BL, sound being funneled through a cut through in the bed of a truck going into the cab. Would the rear seats ruin a lot of the air being moved? Or will stuff still fly????

I was going to put 2-18'' Q's in a ford excursion until I heard ONE 15'' BTL fully loaded in a excursion powered by a hifonics BXi2006. The box was 3.5 cubes net @ 33hz. Let me say that it was loud!!! I want to run 2-18'' BTL's fully loaded on my new TE4001D amp!!! Would 2-15'' BTL's hang with 2-18's? Or will the 18's smoke the 15's like that? I really want the 18's and if I put each one in 5 cubes @32hz what will happen to my excursion?(Each sub will see about 1800 watts each.) If I use 5 cubes or 8 cubes per sub what would it do to the sound of the box? I want my X to fall apart from all the bass and I want it to be LOUD. What would the Fi Audio Guru's do...

I am thinking of putting my BL 10" in my 12" fiberglass box. I want to cut a new baffel to drop into the 12" cut out for the BL to mount to. I am wondering if I will damage the sub being the box is bigger then recommended, I think FI recommends 1.2 max, I dont know how much the box will be after displacement. I am going to be powering it off a RE 12.1 1200 watts rms. What would you guys suggest? I am contemplating doing this because my 1.2 cuft box is flipping over when I mount the sub inverted. It wont drop into the cutout because the basket and terminals are just touching, also, the fiberglass box is MUCH lighter than my MDF box. Let me know what you guys think.

So as of right now i have a Q 15 powered by a BXI 1606 running at 1 ohm so the sub is dual 2. My next goal is to get another Q 15, but I really want to get a RF T3000 but they would have to run at 2 ohm and be dual 1's right? So i would have to recone my current one or 2 (if everything goes right) to run at 2 ohms. But then agan if i end up w/ 2 dual 2 Q's i could just get 2 RF T1000's I just need some advice -send in my current Q for a swap and get both dual 1 so i could run the T3000 -keep my current Q a dual 2 and run each off T1000's How much actual power do the T1000's put out? Do these hold up to the other T line? I know a T3000 would be very generous for 2 Q's but…

Would a 15" Q dual2 work decently in a 2.3 cubic foot @ 30hz enclosure? Would having a driver in a smaller ported box offer the same benifit as having it in a smaller sealed box as in increasing its power handling? As I have a USAmps MD.1D which is rated at 1200@1ohm but I believe it is slightly underrated.

39" wide 18" deep 22" tall 1.5" walls 4.5 box volume 76sq" of port 32" long port tuned to 34hz With available space, I'm tuned a little high (it's a big interior, peaks around 40hz)...and I'm lacking port area. Should I go longer on the port to get lower or should I go longer and wider and keep the tuning freq (or possibly let it raise)?

So I own 2 18" BTLs. I have 2 memphis 4ks on each, and they are very loud. Because of the area I live and and personal preference, I don't choose to flexnuts very often (well once a day). Once a day I drive past my ex-fiance's house (who I left after finding out she was cheating on me). This is my once a day stress release- since she's always outside smoking and she tried to prevent me from getting subs-she hated bass- and now she gets to hear them all the time Well, I was listening to da blow by lil john, when I noticed my mirror going crazy. Then it fell off. Guess I'm going to have to go get some repair glue from walmart/advance auto tomarrow. After opening the bac…

I was wondering if any one knows the true RMS rating for the Earthquake PHD5000, Kicker 1200.1, Massive audio P3000.1, AUTOTEK MM4000D, MA AUDIO HK802SX, Orion 2100, and Hifonics bxi2006d or Hifonics bxi1606d? I am just trying to figure out witch amps to go with when I run my stereo. If any has tested any of these amps please let me know. Also I would like to know if any one has ran one 12" BTL daily in a trunked car and had it metered to music? If so please post your scores on here along with pics of your installs or your car getting the score. Once I get mine I will let you know what it does with a bunch of different amps. Hopefully I will have it posted on here by next…

I plan on running 8 ssd 10's. 2 per box at 500 watts rms each. Each box will be 3 cubes before displacement tuned to 33hz. I plan on running 1 4" aero port per 2 subs. Do you think I will get port noise with that size port on only 500 watts? Thanks, I hope that wasn't too confusing.

As some of you are aware, I have a pair of Q15's sealed in a 4.4ft^3 enclosure. I had to build the box ackwardly to make it fit in a G35(sedan) trunk. I enjoy competing at local comps, but want to see if I can increase my output. I am pretty steady with hitting ~148db at the dash. My question for you box gurus is with the given specs of my sealed box only being 4.4ft^3 would I still get an output increase if I added a pair of external 4" aero ports (actually just pvc) and how long should they be to tune to ~34hz? Specs again: Sealed 4.4ft^3 (2) Q15's Desired tuning approx. 34hz using (2) 4" round ports What length?

well i started my box today for my 15" btl fully loaded, and i almost finished it (i had to work 1-9 today) my sub is going to be facing forward, and im kind of worried that the basket might break, or that it may mess the box up. i didnt double baffle it today, but tomorrow i am going to, im more worried that when i hit bumps and stuff the sub will torque the box and break the screws. also, is there a way to build a support for the motor, i was thinking just building a half circle out of mdt to fit under it with some sort of support to hold it up...
