  2. I just picked up two BTL 18's, dual 2's, fully loaded, and will be running them off of two modded Memphis Mojo MC-2000d amplifiers (1 on each driver at 1 ohm), approx. 3000 watts each. In my vehicle, which is a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, I don't have a whole lot of useable space to work with and still maintain practicality, so the enclosure is going to be a bit tight for specs. I will run the subs inverted to try to save as much airspace as I can, but I only have a total of 11.2 cubes to work with, before port displacement. I will be able to run 4.7 cubes per driver after displacement, while running more than sufficient power to the drivers, at 3000 watts per. Fi recommends…

Scott / Anyone I had emailed Scott about this but I'll post here. Basically my questions is as below. I would like to seek help on my Q15 enclosure. I had builded a 3.65 cu.ft @ 34hz for the Q15. My specs and measurement as follows: Net Volume: 3.65 cubic feet Tuning Frequency: 34 Hz Port Width: 5.25 inches Port Area: 86.625 Square Inches Port Length: 47.5 inches External Dimensions: 34 wide x 18 tall x 22.75 deep Now, after installing and basically setting the amp crossover, subsonic filter and gains I found that the bass was muddy at times and lacked the lows. So I checked my amp setting even using scope just to make sure it does not clipped or distort. After listening…

Can I get a recone for 2 jl 12 w6's? My boy just smoked them and gave them to me. The only specs that I could find was, 300 watts rms, 2.5 inch coil, 11.1 xmax, and they are dual 6 ohm coils. And the dust cap comes with the recone? And what would be the new spes with the recone?

First post here at SSA. Looking for some help, I need to build an enclosure for my new sub and am looking for some help on a design. I can give up 34.5w X 20d X 15.5 OD max. I'm looking to get tuned to 32hz @ 2.5 cubes. I am going to be starting this build in the morning any help is greatly appreciated. I can't wait to hear this thing come to life. Just looking to get some help so I can visualize what I'm building. I will mess around with some numbers on Torres and try to post them up. It will be going in a Toyota Corolla and running off a crescendo s1500.1 so 1500w. Mostly hip hop music is what I listen to. Also, I work out of my car and have to use my trunk …

  8. Hey guys, can someone with knowledge I don't have give me a hand PLEASE! I'll be real grateful! I bought my 2 10" FI D2 Q's for this box for my 350Z which has a advertised inside dimensions that produce .70cuft per chamber. Scott's advertised cuft spec for these subs is .20 -.60cuft. So I'm about .10cuft over. First a couple of questions. (getting old sucks....memory shot! LOL!) #1. I think Scott said he wanted the .20 - .60cuft space for the box PRE sub installation???? So in other words don't use the sub displacement itself in the final cuft #. The box without the sub should be .20 -.60cuft. Does that sound right? #2. Obvisously I want the BEST possible performanc…

INFORMATION: I own a 2002 pt cruiser. I am going to soon be buying a Fi Q18 and a AQ1200D for my car. I have calculated maximum external volume that the enclosure can be and it is around 8ft^3. I will upload some pictures tomorrow but its dark outside so I can't go take any pics. Two Options: 1. Sealed. Would allow me to downsize the box a bit to around 6ft^3 and give the sub some more breathing room. 2. Ported. I would keep the volume at the max and port it to 28hz like recommended. My only concern is that the space between the Q18 and the rear hatch is 4 inches. I know this will affect the sound but I don't think it will be too big of a problem. So what shoul…

  13. My first major build and I want to do it correctly, please point out potential issues. Just bought an SAZ1500d V.2 amp cause I found a smoking deal and couldn't pass it up. It's on a truck barreling towards my house right now Looking for a sub to pair it with and the Q caught my eye. Looks as if I add the cooling package to the sub I can pump another 200-500 watts into her which will align perfectly with the Sundown's output. Going Dual 2 Ohm coils and wire it all up for total impedance of 1 ohm and I should be styling. Only thing I'm still debating is whether I should go with an 18" or 15" woofer. The 18 attracts me for the sheer fact that it's an 18. It'll b…

  17. I see a ton of pretty designs floating around was wondering what people were using. I Googled it but they all "calculate" various specs and I'm looking for a drawing program? Photoshop seems a little excessive for this. Wanted to draw something up and have you all take a look before I get all my pieces cut but the sub hasn't shipped out yet so I've got some time. Thanks!

Thanks Pez! sorry for being a pain

  22. First off. I am Unimpressed with FI's Silence. Unfortunately Scott and Nick have pretty much decided they are going to Ignore my Emails concerning taking them (Scott) up on the offer to replace the sub of find a magnet cover to hide the huge chunk missing out of the Ferrite. 2 weeks worth or emails have never been replied to so I have decided to cut my Losses and install the Subwoofer in the Oak Ply box I built. I waited and waited but with the weather turning cooler I wanted to get it in and running. On a Side note, a few Woofer builders have offered to repair the woofer at a reduced cost to help me out. So that was nice of them. I may take one of them up …

I have a Fi Q 15 with BP power in about a 5 cuft box. 3.5 for the sub and the rest is displacements for sub and port. I have the box tuned to 31hz. I read the recommendations for the sub off of this forum and it says about 12-16 square inches of port area per cubic foot of volume. So that would translate from 42in-56in squared of port cross section and i have about 48 inches squared (its 13.75in W x 3.5in H x 36in L) and not very much air is moving through the port and it is not very loud. Maybe it needs more break in time? Thanks

Hello guys, So I need some help with understanding what is going on with my trunk. I had a bmw sedan E36 style, 2X 12" Qs and a RF T15001d... I open the trunk the subs are not distorting what so ever at 3/4vol on the head unit after DMM the amp to the recommended RMS value, But i close the trunk and it sounds like complete hell in the car. Its like the bass is trapped in the trunk? Do you guys think i should make a new deck out of wood with huge holes in it, and cut the metal one out so that I can get some pressure loss in the trunk, so that the pressure will go into the cab? Also the box is at 4 cuin @ 32.5 hz, "thats all i could fit in the trunk, theres not alot of ro…
