Im going to be starting my first build soon and i've decided to go with the Fi X12 but I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on amps for this sub? I want to squeeze every bit of power out of this sub Thanks for any suggestions! Im thinking about trying to put 4 BL 15s in a 2000 maxima, Do you guys think its possible to fit them in the trunk and only the trunk?

First post here at SSA. Looking for some help, I need to build an enclosure for my new sub and am looking for some help on a design. I can give up 34.5w X 20d X 15.5 OD max. I'm looking to get tuned to 32hz @ 2.5 cubes. I am going to be starting this build in the morning any help is greatly appreciated. I can't wait to hear this thing come to life. i have had 2 10" ssd for almost 2 weeks and the duscap one one of the subs has come unglued. Has anyone else had this problem? i know i could just re glue it but this shouldnt happen after 2 weeks and i havent been beating on them either, i emailed fi but anyone else have any suggestions, i know about CA glue but im not sure what i should do, any help would be great. Can I get a recone for 2 jl 12 w6's? My boy just smoked them and gave them to me. The only specs that I could find was, 300 watts rms, 2.5 inch coil, 11.1 xmax, and they are dual 6 ohm coils. And the dust cap comes with the recone? And what would be the new spes with the recone?

My first major build and I want to do it correctly, please point out potential issues. Just bought an SAZ1500d V.2 amp cause I found a smoking deal and couldn't pass it up. I have 2 18 BTLs that are dual 1ohm. I want to run an amp to each sub, would i get a 1ohm stable amp or a 2ohm? I just dont want to have wiring issues the amps i would like to run would be 2 saz3500's. thats my goal

im building a sealed box for my sp4 to see what it sounds like. is it as simple as just making a 23X23X22 box out of 3/4 and a couple lengths of all thread?

I see a ton of pretty designs floating around was wondering what people were using. I Googled it but they all "calculate" various specs and I'm looking for a drawing program? What would be an excellent recone epoxy that I can get from Lowe's or Home Depot that would be good to reconing 3-12" FI SSD's???

The inside of my box is 11.75H x 20D x 37.5w I will be using 3 4" Precision Port I cant change anything because the box is almost done and its waiting for the subs to get here. If someone could tell me how long the ports should be to tune to 32 thats what I need to know. Thanks guys

lately i been noticing a popping sound coming out of my BTL. I got it hooked up to two hifonixs bxi1606. is this normal?? have any of you guys with btls heard this before??

INFORMATION: I own a 2002 pt cruiser. I am going to soon be buying a Fi Q18 and a AQ1200D for my car. I have calculated maximum external volume that the enclosure can be and it is around 8ft^3. I will upload some pictures tomorrow but its dark outside so I can't go take any pics. Two Options: 1. Sealed. Would allow me to downsize the box a bit to around 6ft^3 and give the sub some more breathing room. 2. Ported. I would keep the volume at the max and port it to 28hz like recommended. My only concern is that the space between the Q18 and the rear hatch is 4 inches. I know this will affect the sound but I don't think it will be too big of a problem. So what shoul…

Hi all, I was curious, has the topic ever come up on here about running one of the Fi dual voice coil subs with only one voice coil connected? I was reading through a forum post on the12volt.com about how it should not damage a subwoofer if the loss of heat dissipation is accounted for by running at a lower power level. Obviously it is better to run both coils whenever possible, but it might be useful to run single coil if someone were stuck in a non-ideal amp setup. the12volt thread What % of RMS power would be acceptable to send to a dvc sub in single coil configuration? since I've been frequenting this forum more, I have noticed there is a significant number of issues with the Q line. I'm guessing just coincidence? Or is there a ryme or reason?

A good friend of mine just recently traded his 2 12s for a Btl n2 15 and is now looking to build a box. Being the guy he is, he likes the lows. This sub may not be the most applicable for his needs but he's hoping for the best. He likes loud, and he likes low. We were both thinking about a box that is roughly around 4 cu ft using 3/4 mdf. We were also thinking on possibly doing an aero port(s) design. Although a slot port is still an option. If it helps to know, the box will be going into a 1991 Jeep Cherokee. First off. I am Unimpressed with FI's Silence. Unfortunately Scott and Nick have pretty much decided they are going to Ignore my Emails concerning taking them (Scott) up on the offer to replace the sub of find a magnet cover to hide the huge chunk missing out of the Ferrite. 2 weeks worth or emails have never been replied to so I have decided to cut my Losses and install the Subwoofer in the Oak Ply box I built. I waited and waited but with the weather turning cooler I wanted to get it in and running. On a Side note, a few Woofer builders have offered to repair the woofer at a reduced cost to help me out. Hello guys, So I need some help with understanding what is going on with my trunk. I had a bmw sedan E36 style, 2X 12" Qs and a RF T15001d... I open the trunk the subs are not distorting what so ever at 3/4vol on the head unit after DMM the amp to the recommended RMS value, But i close the trunk and it sounds like complete hell in the car. Its like the bass is trapped in the trunk? Do you guys think i should make a new deck out of wood with huge holes in it, and cut the metal one out so that I can get some pressure loss in the trunk, so that the pressure will go into the cab? Obviously, you can already tell I am major noob at all this, but learning. I am getting the 4 15" BL's when I save up enough to do everything. What I need to know is what Ohm do I need to pick for the BL's. I have yet to get a amp. I was hoping to run 2 amps, maybe the Kicker 2500.1, but not sure.
