Hey guys, I am looking to get alittle advice on a sub or subs for my truck. 2007 F250 HD crew cab with bucket seats in the back. (daily driver) Right now it has a Alpine 7in touch screen Multi Media head unit, Alpine 4.150 running Alpine mids and highs and also running one 10in Fosgate P2 in a .53 cuft sealed box behind one of the back seats facing forward. It sounds good and very clean but the one sub in that little box just dont cut it for me. The last real system I had was 2 15in Diamonds in a big sealed enclosure down firing into the spare tire well of a Lincoln Mark 8. (10 years ago lol) I do not have much room to play with here but I was looking and I can build …

I am installing a system for a friend in an older Monte Carlo. He has an Alpine head, US Acoustics US 2200 (old zed amp) and a prefab 12" enclosure on the small side, I need to measure but I am guessing .75cf per driver. His budget is $200 for 2-12" Subwoofers. I have found the following and want your input on which one would deliver more output. He listens to a lot of Hip Hop. Kicker 07CVR124-2-Pack (2subs_07cvr124) - 12" Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix REF-TM12.4 - Image Dynamics 12" Dual 4 Ohm OEM Tidal Audio Subwoofer Both subs handle 400rms and both can be had for under $200 for a pair. Any input is appreciated. I have heard the CVX's but have never heard of Tidal. I…

hi everyone, i want to upgrade my current subs into something with more SPL, and SQ if possible OVERVIEW: -2 12" pioneer ts-W308D4 rated 400 wrms per-sub -Hifonics BXI-1210D, 1 ohm load to subs, so subs are seeing 1200 wrms, 600 wrms per sub -both subs are in a ported box that looks like this Dual ported sub box so which set of subs should i get that can actually take 600 wrms per sub? Starting from budget subs to higher grade? if i bought 2 kicker 08 CVR 15" to use for my amp, would my setup be louder and deeper than my 2 12"s? thanks for the feedback everyone

I've briefly heard a pair of JL 10W6 in a ported enclosure powered by a jl 1000/1, i liked there sound from what i heard, but i would like more output and possibly more low end bass. My budget is ~$500 for sub(s) and box Sub(s) will be going in my ext cab Silverado, under the rear seat lifted 2". I listen to basically everything, from rap to country. About 70% rap/hip-hop and 30% everything else. My goals are to have a nice sounding setup, with a good amount of output. I'm not looking for amazing SQ, but I don't want a one note wonder either. I've been thinking about going with a single 12, maybe a couple of 10s, or even a few 8s. Whatever I choose will be ran off of my S…

I am almost done with my sub-stage and Sound deadening So its time to start planning my front set-up. I want a midbass in the front door with my midrange and tweeter Now that I will no longer have rear's. I had been thinking of a round misbass but have heard such great things about the XS-69's and know they are same SD as an 8". I am also VERY interrested in the XS-65 comps for the mids and tweeters, but honestly have never heard any of them. I like the speaker's specs, ID customer service, and want to give my money to an American company. I will be driving 200 miles to Denver to hear them for myself before making any final decision. I am after flat response, Good sound …

I'm thinking about getting a 12" Fi Q for my ride, but can only afford 500 rms to the sub. Will 500 rms from a JL Audio 500/1v2 be enough to make the Q sound great? Volume isn't a problem cause I've run subs at 400 rms and was satisfied.

I'm looking through my subs owner's manual, and I can't find the displacement. What is displacement represented as? I've Googled it every way possible and still have come up with nothing. They are Clarion SW1051's. Sorry for the noob question.

My birthday is in July and I'm trying to decide what to do with the money I get (yes, I'm 30 years old and still get money ). I do know that I want to upgrade sub/subs, but I'm not quite sure which way to go. Budget will be between $200-$250. Not sure if I could swing $300, but it's a possibility. I've got 600 @ 2 ohms to work with. The main thing is I'd like to keep the box size down as much as possible. I don't want to go over 2 cubes total, and even that's pushing it. So, I'm thinking either 2 8's or 10's in a small sealed box, or a single 10" or 12" ported. I'd love to try a 15" since I've never run one before, but I don't want to choke it down into too small…

which of these two woofers will provide the best sq and the best spl? i want something that gets loud yet retains nice sq in a ported enclosure. i have an 03 civic and was going to have it front facing and have the seats down quite a bit but i dont know if that would be better than rear facing. i listen to mostly rap but occasionally rock. im going to power either one with an audioque 2200d. the rd will probably have the flat wind option so it will be able to handle the power. all opinions are welcome, thanks

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and was hoping u experts can help me decide on a sub(s)/amp combo that would best suit my taste. I want either 2-10s or 1-12, I listen to mostly R&B and some Rap. I will probably get custom ported box build to spec or suggestions for my listen preference. I was looking at the Fi Audio Q, SSA Icon, SS Rl-p for 12s and the Fi Audio SSDs, SSA Dcons, SS Rl-i, Boston Acoustics G3s for 10s... I have about $1200 to spend and want to keep amp rms to a 1000watts or less cause I don't wanna upgrade my electrical and it should enough for daily listening.. All help is appreciated and any other suggestion are welcomed...

Either would be a 15." The setup is going into a Dakota ext. cab. Ive got my electrical upgrades (200 amp alternator, extra battery, and big 3 done with double runs of 0 ga.) and sound deadening is completed. Ill be powering either driver with a AQ 2200 (Gain will be set accordingly). I listen mostly to 90% reggae music, 5% rap, and another 5% with a mix of others. Am wanting a setup that is very musical, and can get loud when needed. But dont get me wrong, am not looking for an all out SQ setup, but i do like to sound good. The enclosure will be constructed around whatever driver is selected, hopefully by this weekend. Both are in the $500 range give or take a few bucks …

I received my 12” Level 3 and was super excited when I opened it up. It is an amazing looking sub. However, once I pulled it out of the box, I saw that the braided wires (tinsel leads??) that connect to the terminals were disconnected on both sides (both terminals). Is this normal? And if so, is it something I can fix.

hello, i have a 15" icon powered by a jl 1000 amp. its in a pro box ported enclosure. i set the amp up according to the jl tech's instructions and when i really crank on it sometimes the speaker gives off a burning smell. it did it twice so i dont crank it that hard anymore. i purchased my sub during the free sub box deal was going on and got it with a 4 cu 33hz box and when i would turn the sub volume all the way on the head unit is when i first smelled the burning so i took it back out of that box and put it back in the pro box. my question is am i clipping the sub or do i need to step up to the xcon. i have my settings on the amp at the recommended settings and only ha…

Right now I'm running a icon 10 in a ported box to spec off of a aq1200d. I wanna try another set of subs and I have 2 si bm 10s laying around, my question is will those be louder, running off the aq1200d and a ported box, or will it pretty much sound the same as the icon? I was also thinking about a pair of sealed (no room for ported) 12s such as type-rs or ia 187s. Which route will be significantly louder?

I picked up some BNIB 10" Clarion subs for stupid cheap. In the owners manual they have box sizes listed for SQ sealed (.5 cubes) and SQ ported (.65 cubes). I am new to this forum and am a member of caraudio.com and mwcaraudio.net. I think its obvious SSA makes their own subs. I have run Sundown and IA and currently am in between systems, trying to get ready for MECA competitions in Va. My latest set-up was a 12" Warden on an RD 3250 V.1 My question is, what makes SSA subs different from the rest ? Being on this forum, i figure i can get the best answers from the company and members who have run SSA subs themselves.
