Either would be a 15." The setup is going into a Dakota ext. cab. Ive got my electrical upgrades (200 amp alternator, extra battery, and big 3 done with double runs of 0 ga.) and sound deadening is completed. Ill be powering either driver with a AQ 2200 (Gain will be set accordingly). I listen mostly to 90% reggae music, 5% rap, and another 5% with a mix of others. Am wanting a setup that is very musical, and can get loud when needed. But dont get me wrong, am not looking for an all out SQ setup, but i do like to sound good. The enclosure will be constructed around whatever driver is selected, hopefully by this weekend. Both are in the $500 range give or take a few bucks …

I am new to this forum and am a member of caraudio.com and mwcaraudio.net. I think its obvious SSA makes their own subs. I have run Sundown and IA and currently am in between systems, trying to get ready for MECA competitions in Va. My latest set-up was a 12" Warden on an RD 3250 V.1 My question is, what makes SSA subs different from the rest ? Being on this forum, i figure i can get the best answers from the company and members who have run SSA subs themselves.

I picked up some BNIB 10" Clarion subs for stupid cheap. In the owners manual they have box sizes listed for SQ sealed (.5 cubes) and SQ ported (.65 cubes). I've never seen SQ ported box recommendations before. Anyways, here's something else that was in the manual. Sealed: Power Handling-Good at all frequencies Linearity-Excellent Dynamic Performance-Excellent Efficiency-Good Subsonic Output-Excellent Midbass Output-Excellent Enclosure Size-Small Ported: Power Handling-Good above tuning frequency Linearity-Good Dynamic Performance-Good Efficiency-Very Good Subsonic Output-Good Midbass Output-Very Good Enclosure Size-Medium Does this mean that these subs are more suited …

Currently own 1 Fi BL 15 and I have been looking into competing. I have been doing some reading and a common limitation for the lowest power class in USACI, (1-600watts at 4 ohms? best I could find: stock 1, street beat 1, etc.) is one 12", two 10" or 3 8". Feel free to correct me and my stupidity any time! If I was looking to compete in said class(es), one 12 seems to be the cheapest route, so here are the options I have found for my budget, (whatever I can get for my BL + less than $100) 1: Used DC level 4 XL, (dual one) for ~ $290 (should I turn into dual 2? is that possible?) 2: Just the motor of the level 4 XL (send it into PSI or something and get it rebuilt?) …

I have a ED Nine.1 and I need help deciding on what subs to get. The amp supposed to do 1200w RMS @1ohm 12.5v. I have a MB Quart 4125 powering a pair of ID CTX65cs comps and a pair of ID CTX65 coaxials. This is all going into a '09 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I listen to all types of music. I want something to get low and loud. Would 2 Icon 12's be a better choice than 1 Xcon 12 with that amp?

I'm using a stealth enclosure that holds a single 10". Mounting depth is 8" and has .75 cu.ft air space and is sealed.I listen to all sorts of music, rock, rap,r&b,metal, etc. I have looked at the following subs...Alpine Type-R 1042D(sounded good),IDQ v.3 (haven't heard) and Re Audio SE-10 (haven't heard). That 's mostly where the problem lies,I don't have any dealers locally that I can actually listen to these subs. I already have a MB Quart Discus 500.1( 250W x 1 @ 4ohms, 500W x 1 @ 2 ohms) that I picked up a few weeks ago for cheap.Would like to keep it under 150.00. Thanks

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and was hoping u experts can help me decide on a sub(s)/amp combo that would best suit my taste. I want either 2-10s or 1-12, I listen to mostly R&B and some Rap. I will probably get custom ported box build to spec or suggestions for my listen preference. I was looking at the Fi Audio Q, SSA Icon, SS Rl-p for 12s and the Fi Audio SSDs, SSA Dcons, SS Rl-i, Boston Acoustics G3s for 10s... I have about $1200 to spend and want to keep amp rms to a 1000watts or less cause I don't wanna upgrade my electrical and it should enough for daily listening.. All help is appreciated and any other suggestion are welcomed...

  13. I was going to shoot for Fi SSDs or BLs to go with my sundown 1200d v2 But I can grab brand new Rockford P3s 12" for $220 from my buddy who bought them and decided to go a different route I know most of you on here eat, sleep and breath car audio but over all what do you guys think of these subs honestly? Can they handle a sundown 1200d v2 without turning everything way down? By no means do I plan on cranking it way up, but I just dont want to blow these subs with that amp. So for the price what would you guys do?

I found a good priced amp for the LI 12 I'm getting soon and was hoping to get some feed back on if it is a good buy or not. Phoenix Gold RSd 600.1 (RSd600.1) (rsd6001) Mono Subwoofer Amps Car Amplifiers Car Audio Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic Electronix The link is what I was looking at. So if I were to get that amp and get a DVC 4 ohm LI would I wire it like http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg <That? I know that this post maybe useless to some ppl, and I may not even get a single response but here goes. I am planning to purchase either a single 12" or 15" IA Death Penalty for my application. It will be going into a 2000 dokota ext.cab and am running the AQ2200 in either a 2.5 cb.ft net for the 12" or 3.75 cb.ft net for the 15". I was woundering which would play the low end with more authority. The reason for my asking is for a 15" enclosure, the enclosure will take up most all of the cab space under the glass (no wall). I believe that with so much room taken up, it would give the sound less surfaces to bounce of giving a more boomy sound than low end. Whereas with a 1…

O.K so my brother is going to rebuild his system he had 2 12 alpine type r's and wants something louder deeper and just overall better than his old system. He has the U.S amps xt2000d 1000wrms @1 ohm. I was thinking to tell him to get an Fi SSD but the only thing is that if it could handle 1000wrms daily w/o options or if with them which ones. And what kind of box should you guys tell us to buils ported what tuning frequency or if sealed. He wants something for a daily driver. Or do you guys recommend a different sub. His buget is no more than 250 on a sub. And just 1. And do you guys no what the new design is going to be for the ssd

So I have a 2007 Honda Accord Coupe. I am looking to get a 12'' Lethal Injection and I am looking for a sub box. I was looking on the Fisher Custom site but that is out of my price range. I was hoping that this one I found on SonicElectronix would be good. If someone could please help me out it would be much appreciated. I will ask my other question here so I don't make an extra post. Like stated above I want to get a 12'' Lethal Injection and I was wondering what would be a good amplifier to get? I was looking at a Sundown Audio but I guess the prices were just raised? That or the 1000 watt was taken off of this website? If someone could help me out it would be much ap…

Its a down fire box and the speaker cut out is like 1/4" too big. Its 11 1/4 and the subs I have right now wont screw in because they screw holes arent furhter out than 11 1/4 for some odd reason. This is a box for 2 12s Its a downfire box so if I were to put a plate on there and do a new cut out Id lose some clearance. Any other suggestions?

I am almost done with my sub-stage and Sound deadening So its time to start planning my front set-up. I want a midbass in the front door with my midrange and tweeter Now that I will no longer have rear's. I had been thinking of a round misbass but have heard such great things about the XS-69's and know they are same SD as an 8". I am also VERY interrested in the XS-65 comps for the mids and tweeters, but honestly have never heard any of them. I like the speaker's specs, ID customer service, and want to give my money to an American company. I will be driving 200 miles to Denver to hear them for myself before making any final decision. I am after flat response, Good sound …

working on my new build, getting ready to build my box. subs are going in a 2007 Chevy impala, looking for opinions on which way to fire my aeros.i know that firing sub's back and ports back would probably yield best output, but I'm not going to have enough room on the baffle for the subs and areos.so what about subs back ports to the driver side firewall or subs up ports to the rear/tail lights, basically a crx type box. not really wanting to cut the rear deck as I'm trying to keep the stock look, any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. thanks
