here is a few pics of a box i just finished for a explorer....the install pic is on another camera.....anyway, the amp was doa, so no beats yet.....however i did hook this up in my truck off my amp, giving them about 600 wrms, and while they aren't my 15's..they are indeed loud and very clean oh yeah..they are in 1.75ft^3 apiece and the box has a fs of 38hz..well, according to mtx specs...so does that mean that it is tuned to 38hz? anyway, it is my first time carpeting a box and i almost didn't have enuff, so in the process a nasty seam was created..but it faces the back seat, so it won't be seen ........ also...i charged $150 including materials,which came to $65 or so..…

I want to do a low power build but have good Sq. Which would be the better driver?

I will soon be running Two SA-12s on a saz 1500d and i want to get new speakers. The ones i have in my car now are terrible, 1 is blown and the others are on the way out as well. They are 6 1/2 all around and im looking for opinions on reasonably good speakers i could pick up at best buy or something of that nature. I have seen some speakers that go for $200+ a pair and have heard of others that are half that that and do just as much.

well i got a little happy with my volume knob today, and blew my driver side tweeter. i admit it was my fault. but anyway, i cant find any tweets for sale, so i was wondering if i could buy a different set for the mids. They are polk momo 6.5's. any cheap tweeters you could suggest? thanks!

Okay so I took some measurements today just to see how much space I have to work with. The idea is to keep my third row seats. That was the main reason why I brought a suburban instead of a tahoe. So far this is what I've came up with. *Note all measurements are external* Height: 23 3/8 inches or 28 1/2 inches if I go up to top of headrest Width: 49 inches Depth: 28 3/4 inches I went to 12volt.com to use their volume calculator and it came out to roughly 15 cft of internal volume space. I have a pair of Orion HP12s sealed in 1.2 cubes per chamber powered by a JBL 1201.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2ohms and one of my Orions tore the surround recently and I'm trying to decide whether to get a replacement HP12 or upgrade. The Orions hit hard and clean. However I may upgrade if I could find an efficient pair of subs that could get louder and sound clean. The poll options are what I'm trying to decide between.

Well, finally got the two Mach 5 15's in my 98 F150 ext cab today. They are in 6cuft tuned at 30 hz. First off, the woofers are just plain sexy. So simple, not over the top, and solid. After I got them installed I played a few bass test tracks and couldn't believe how clean they were... Now i've never owned a super expensive sq woofer by anymeans, but these compared to my 12 w3s from a little while back blow them away in the sq department. As for the myth of no sq with ported, throw that out the window with this woofer. It is a litte boomy at some notes, but not enough to distract, just enough to notice if you are looking for it. I've currently got a Brand X audio BA18. I believe it's from a build house in the states that makes a Moab is it. I'm from the uk by the way. It's currently in a 4.5cuft box tuned to 30Hz with about 60sqin of port area. Although small it does sound nice. Just wondering what you guys would do with it. I can get some T/S specs up in a bit when home. Thanks karl It's being run off a sundown 3500 @ 1ohm.

I ended up getting a good deal on the Digital Designs component set today so I bought them. 6.5" Mids along with the tweeters, and all x-overs. My question being, does any here have experience with them...how do they perform...and what are your opinions on them? I'd like to get some other peoples opinions on them... I have a Soundstream 4 channel to push them....and my last question being...as long as I sound deaden the doors, will fitting them in the stock location be sufficient for great sound, or do I need to build pods for them....? were there ever production d4 magnums made? if not, is it possible to special order some? i dont understand why they're all d2, thats great for one but what about pairs? i dont want to run my crossfire as .5 ohm daily, or at 4 ohms. are there other wiring configurations im not aware of to get 1 or 2 ohms out of 2 d2 drivers?

So my friend blew his 10" PowerBass sub in his pickup truck the other day.. He sent it off to be repaired, and wanted to get something cheap to replace it til it gets back. He goes and buys a 60$ Sony Xplode from wal-mart. He called me up and asked me if I would install his new sub.. not telling me it was a Xplod. So I get to his house and start laughing. But nonetheless, I put it in for him. After it was wired up, I had to see how it sounded.. The Xplod sounded 2x as good, and loud as the PB ever though about being. SMH. The PB was a DVC 4 ohm sub, and the Xplod is a SVC 4 ohm.. I just thought this was pretty humorous, since the local car audio dealer charged him 100$+ …

he bought it used off ebay and on the cone it has the logo that says "RE", not the other logo. it pretty much looks just like this: so i'm THINKING it might be an SX but i'm not sure...is there any way to find out without having to send it in to RE and ask them?

Stopped at an audio shop in central MN and was very impressed with the Arc Audio Black series. Its a 2 way passive component set with a 6.5" mid, a 1" tweeter, and passive crossovers, I'm planning on running it active since i have an 80PRS. Anyway the guy was quoting me a price of $670 l(could hopefully talk him down a bit) Its cheaper than what I've seen the for new online. I'm hoping to hear personal reviews of these being installed. I have the 80PRS for a HU and a RF T8004 to power the component set. The mid will be installed in factory location and the tweeter will be installed in the door, right above the mid. If anyone has questions or comments please them below.

i have 300-400 to spent on subs, they will be going in the back seat of my convertible mustang so space is workable and i am looking for sq over spl. am i better off getting 1 ported sa 12 or 2 sealed 10's. or 1 12 xcon or 2 10 xcons?

Hi, I'm about to sell my Xcon 15" locally. I know I will buy some more Xcons in the future, but for now I think I'm going to get the new Fi BTL. Here is my problem : I have a ported box with (2) 4" psp ports, 17" long each. Net volume (with one xcon) is about 3.1 - 3.2 ft3. So tuning is around 32-33 Hz. What would you do ? Get a 15" Btl or a 12" ? The box is on the small side for a 15" and maybe too big for a 12". I can make a smaller box in the future, but I need to use this one for a moment. i just orderd a 18'' fi btl recone and the spider is super stiff. after it was glued into basket the sup hardly wants to move its so stiff? i shimed the coil thats not rubbin ,so maybe its normal to be suer stiff? this is my first recone so any info will be helpfull. also want suggestions on a box for this sub. i like lows its gonna be used in a daily driver with a bd 1500.1

I am trying reach the highest decibels I can with what I have, a 2006 V8 Lincoln LS. I have done the big3 and am ordering an extra battery with isolator to replace my 2fd cap. I have 1-15" ssa icon D2 in 4^ft @32hz sub firing up and port into cabin, Hifonics gladiator 1000.1 @ 1ohm, hifonics zues 80.4, Sony GDX-GT660UP headunit. two pairs of cadence cw6kits comp in the rear, one pair of American bass 6.5 mids and a pair of silk tweeters in the front and on front sails. The only issue i'm struggling with is the bass. I know I can get more out of the sub but cant figure it out. I want to rebuild the trunk and new enclosure but trying to determine best way to do that. a…

Question 1) I might be purchasing a used Magnum and wanted information on its Power Handling. Does Stereo Integrity offer such information? Question 2) If I wire only one voice coil and terminate the second coil with a resistor (potentiometer) to vary the driver's Q in a sealed box, how much power can I send to one voice coil?

well ive done a little more since these pics and vids but the set up is 4 10 inch level 3s with level 4 coils and an extra spider box is 3.9 at 34 with 71 inchs of port amps are 2 ap30001Ds running at 2 ohm to the subs ( 6k ) electrical is 2 red tops in the back and stock up front 140 amp alt 2 runs of 1 gauge to the back and 0 gauge to the amps all stuffed into the trunk of a 1994 chevy cavilier! pics... an excursion vid ( only on 2000rms as i didnt have my 2nd amp then) and some numbers the 145.8 was sealed up at 42 hz and the 148.1 was with drivers door open the subs take the power surprisingly well havent smelt burning vc yet eather!

Currently I have cheap crappy Duals from best buy and am looking to upgrade. I am looking for SPL, but SQ is very important as well since it's a daily driver. THey have to be able to take a beating and handle extreme weather as well (both cold and hot). In my search I've found a lot and would like some opinions. I've been looking at stuff like the FI BL, RE MX, and Audioque HDC3. Other people have recommended DC audio as well as T3. Basically I'm looking for a quality sub that's not too expensive, that gets VERY loud while still retaining good SQ. It seems like there is a lot of good subs out there. well i got home from work 2day and found my 12" Mag thanks alot nick deliverd it quickly and everything ... now 2marro time to go get it installed ^.^ ill be posting picks of the done install... and finally get to hear what this sub can do... also really like that not stating to let the sub break in a bit before pushing it ill let ya'll know how it comes out... costing me 850$ for the damn install custom box dynamat everywere and removing all my side panels and my 2 front seats to place the amps under the seats and also for the wiring... stupid components to install them i have to pull the whole damn panels off :/ bah oh well...
