I got one coming and have a rf 300.1 im going to wire it parallel for a 2 ohm load, so I can have around 300 watts available, but the subs only rated at 175rms, the box is about 2.4 cubes tuned to 28. 20V AC should be about 200 watts, where should I set it at, not sure if RE subs are tough and can handle a little extra or what? Id be open to building a smaller box or similar sized tuned different if it will help in output. Im guessing tuned higher would be louder overall, but in winisd, the 1.5 @ 35Hz box they recommend doesnt look better than the box I built, at least not at anything under 45Hz, of course from there on up the scale it looks like the smaller box has the …

  5. I bought a brand new 15" xcon d2 from SSA for $388 back in early September. I've had it all this time just sitting here, since we've been working on getting a custom box designed, I've gone through so much frustration that I'm just wanting to give up and not deal with this anymore. How much do you think I would be able to sell this sub for? Still it's in brand new condition, never used, like I said never connected or used even once, and can be vouched for by another member here Dustin (DC-Creations - custom box builder), who I actually met with, all we did was screw in the sub into the box but, we couldn't get the box to fit in the trunk. So, couldn't use it. Also just …

Well i got my system together ( needs some minor adjustments here and there). Running a jvc KD-avx77 to my kicker zx750.1 amp, and to my Fi SSD12 with copper coil option. I wired it in parallel but then my amp went into protection mode and i didnt even really turn up the gain much. Should I wire it in series? My sub has the DVC option

I used a pair of Skar IVX 12's for midbass? I came across an extra Two Channel amp, and bought two fifteens before my Skars came in, because I'm the worst impulse buyer, ever. Would it even work? I mean, setting my HPF on the fifteens to like, 60 hz, running the skars from 60-100, and then my components 100+? All of them on different amps, of course.

  8. Im building my sub box but I dont know how thick to make the enclosure. Sub is 18" Atomic APX. Will be 6cubes net @32hz. How thick should the box be. I was thinking 1.50 all around and a 2.25 baffle. But I can go 3" all around if need be. Although it will be awhile before I run the reccommended 5000rms in the meantime Ill be running about 3000rms. I was told by another guy his AP(one step lower than the APX)12 Was still flexing his box with the 1.50. I will not be glassing the inside of the box so should I go 3 all around?

I have a 03 Re Audio SE motor. I plan to use this as a learning experiance. I am in contact with Nick@fi about getting parts to build it into a 15. Anyway, I was wondering how people go about cleaning the CA off the top plate? I tried scraping it but that got me nowhere especially with the magnetic field pulling on it. Is there anything that breaks down CA glue that won't harm the motor? Also I cleaned the gap with sticky notes and a skinny wooden rule with masking tape on it. Is there any other ways I don't know about for future refference? The gap is clean and taped up now but it was a PIA. The SE was a 10 previously and suffered from coil rub. And it had shavin…

I have 2 Kickers Dual voice coil 2ohm coming tomorrow. I see the diagram in 12volt on how to connect them at 2ohm. However, the box they are going in has separate chambers. So how do I connect the subwoofers to each other? whats the solution to this? http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=22#results

Well I'm writing this for anyone who might care. I'll go through the steps of how to take apart a speaker(with pics of course). Here are the supplies. 1 Koda6 (thank you Nick), 1 bottle of CA unbonding glue, and a utility knife First, run the knife around the edge of the surround to separate it from the basket. The Koda has a stretchy rubber surround so it didnt really cut so well. Then, just cut the speaker leads. And detach the spider from the basket. This was the tricky part. I found that although being soaked in the CA unbonding glue for a few minutes, it just woundn't budge. So i just took the knife to that as well. It was quite flimsy and easy to cut. An…

alright, so somehow the basket on my ns just broke like a 3" long peice off, only thing that is holding it on is the surround that is stuck to it. i googled how to do a recone and found this. [How To] Build or recone a speaker - Realm of Excursion i used a search on here and didnt find anything so i figured i would post this up for peoples information. if this is against the rules then by all means delete it. im not sure how that works. hope this helps somebody as much as its going to help me.

i have 2 15" Sundown sa-15's in a 7 cuft box in a 1998 gmc jimmy. i'm running a hifonics hifi1500.1 amp. I've seen people with the same subs, same brand amp(but smaller) in very similar vehicles do much better hair tricks than i can achieve. Any suggestions on how to increase mine? I love to show off my subs and this is a fun way to do so!

i measured my truck dimensions for where sub will go. ( i cant fit that 15 inch so i guess im going 12 well with my space requirements i can either fit the sub firing downwards or firing forwards/backwards. the problem is its a tite fit so if i build it to downfire it wont fit if i face it forwards, forwards wont fit firing downwards. which way should i face it? what differences will forwards or downwards have. i refuse to face it upwards becuase my luck ill drop something right on it. and i cant find any nice grills for high excursion subs.

Nick I would appreciated any feedbacks from you or the others. I have a 99 Accord with a cup holder that pulls down from the middle of the back seat and creates a tiny rectangular opening through the trunk. Is it advisable to face my D2s directly through this hole from the trunk through the little hole in the rear seats? They are charging me 500 for this type of install (fiberglass). Let me know if this is advisable. All I want is a tight and punchy bass.

I was just wondering what are some of the best ways to keep impedence rise down. I have read that it doesn't matter much in daily but I don't see why that is true, unless it is only a db or so difference. Are there box designs that make a difference or cooling methods?

Should i use one amp two etc. The 3 subs are dvc 15" fosgate 2 ohm 250 rms P2d215 .After the box i will be making a panel on the door for one 8" sub and an 6-3/4 component set along with two component sets in the rear. 24. Ok so I see a lot of conflicting answers regarding a small box if you plan on over powering your sub. Be believe in it, others say it's a lie. My question is if you're gonna over power a sub. What would be considered smaller ? I'm thinking about 2 15s. They call for 3-4 ft3 but I'm thinking of putting them in a 5 ft3 box. After displacement and port. Im looking into the sp4v2 and putting them on a hd8k. I know they are underrated. And the taramps is over the rms slightly. So I wa wondering if this will work out well. The reason why I'm asking is because I don't wanna sacrifice more space for my box. And seeing how the 8k is more than enough for the subs, I …
