http://www.emfcaraudio.com/emf-audio-ermagerd-18-dual1/ Looks like a sundown based company, anyone ever heard these? Another thing it has 50mm xmax, almost like re xxx series, so i'm guessing the response would not be as great compared to smd/evil series? I'm just a curious george about speakers! I searched around here I'm suprised nothing showed up about them.

Just thought I'd give you the heads up on a couple of videos I shot with my buddy's. Tej is now a well known entity on www.realmofexcursion.com, so has loads of movies in the SI section :-D Tej's powerplant is the RFbd1500@1ohm Sound great. Big car too. The other guy is Daniel. His Mag 12" was powered off a Brutus 1500d, which sounded ass Here goes: http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Sou.../magnum12.9.wmv http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Sou...magnum12.10.wmv There is also another crazy video which I will hopefully post up soon.... ENJOY! :-D

I'm trying to learn more about setting up my mids/highs & I've been reading a lot of threads about "going active." I think I've got the gist of what it is and how to do it (kind of) but I'm trying to figure out what the benefit is. Is going active and using the HPF & LPF on the amp better than just using the passive x-over that comes with ur components? The only thing I can think of is maybe it's cheaper to buy a midrange and a set of tweets than buying a nice component set....Somebody wanna help me understand this a lil' better?

Hi every body ! A friend of mine wants a 15" sub for his system. He has a DTI amp that pushes about 1200 watts rms at 1 Ohm. I think it's like a Boss amp ! So, numbers are not very accurate. He wanted a 1000 watts rms sub, but can go down to 600-700 rms. He wants it to be loud, not for breaking spl records, but not into SQ ! I showed him 3 available subs : Sundown SA 15, Kicker CVX, and Alpine type R. What do you think ? Any other choice ? Ooh ; budget is less than $300, $250 will be better. We have big shipping fees to add later. Waiting on you guys ! Thanks

im thinking about buying four kicker l5 15 inch subwoofers. i sent kicker a e mail what size box i was wanting to put them in 16.04 cf inside. that would bring it to around 4.01 each subwoofer. i told them i wanted to port the box and they sent a e mail back this is what it said.shrink it down to 14 cf internal . this will have port and woofer displacement already caculated into it. give the box 160 square inch port opening and make the port 19.5 long into enclosure. seems to be to small for them what are you all thinking on this? what would that give the subwoofers after woofer displacement and the port they gave seems to small they also said it would tune it to 35hz

So I've seen a ton of videos featuring hair tricks and I figured it'd be cool to see if my system can pull it off..Only problem is that I'm clueless how to go about it. Obviously someone with long hair is needed. I'm not sure what song would be best, or what window for that matter... Any tips for me? Is it pretty much just trial and error? Any reason my system wouldn't be able to hair trick? Does hairspray\hairgel have a negative impact on it?

Hello, I'm in Alberta. Been looking at a few manufacturers in the USA. I was planning on two AudioQue HDC3 18s.. but its gunna cost over $800 dollars to get the two to me, including the cost of the woofers. Mach5 is alot closer. I heard about Mach5 from a guy on CanadianCarAudio, who suggest one of the MLI-65 for a computer subwoofer. I've been looking at the MJM-18. I really do wish I had a larger budget. Original plan was 6. But the cost of the woofers themselves, wiring, alternator, batteries, and the rest of the audio gear I need for my truck... its gunna go over my budget.. I have a budget of at least 1200 for my whole stereo, but probably not more than 1500, but may…

I need help troubleshooting a new speaker install/upgrade. I just installed Boston Acoustics in front and rear. SR60 6.5 components in front and SR95 6x9 in the rear deck of a 96 Impala SS. The problem is now the rear sounds much flatter and the front is way too bright up high. These were upgrades to 12 year old Boston 6.5s and Pioneer 6x9s. Old speakers sounded fine but I wanted better sound and a bit louder. Old speakers were 50w rms and new are 80-85 rms. Amp is 100x4 rms and I also have on a seperate 450w mono amp a 300W Pioneer 10' shallow sub in a sealed box inside the cabin, not the trunk. Location of the 6.5 components up front are, woofer mounted in the do…

Hey guys, New here, but looking to complete my sound system. I'm pretty set on doing Hybrid Audio Clarus components for the doors up front with 150W on them. I'm debating on the rear fill, so may just leave that alone for now. So with that said, I'm trying to match that setup up front and will be using a Pioneer 4200NEX HU. I have the upgraded 145A alternator from the trucks on my car running an Odyssey AGM battery with 0 gauge wiring from the battery to the alternator. But for the subs, I plan to use this box: http://subthump.com/Pontiac-Custom-Subwoofer-Boxes-by-Subthump/Pontiac-Firebird-and-Trans-Am-Custom-Subwoofer-Enclosures-by-Subthump/93-02-CamaroFirebir…

First, let me start off by thanking this forum for dealing with all of my threads. They've honestly been all over the place. (IB, ported, sealed, etc) As you can tell I've been going from plan after plan trying to make my mind up, so I finally stripped my car's trunk today so I can make a final plan. I removed my current setup from my trunk today and took out all my panels, measured and laid out several cardboard cut outs. I can provide close to 2.5 cubes for a 15" sub. Havoc Icon Fi Q etc I know all of these subs will provide more than enough SQ for me. I honestly wouldn't know great SQ if it smacked me in the face. I can tell when I hear bestbuy crap though. So now I'…

Well, I am/was using an e8a for sub duty in my dorm room. Well, playing nothing rediculus, it was working fine. Came back from lunch, turned on a little bass. Nothing. fudge. Soo, i pull it outa the box, i have came to the realization that one coil is screwed. I have one working coil on it, so I might just be using one coil till I get around to buying an Assassin 8...I wanted one of them, but now I have an excuse. holy crap. I liked this little woofer too. Is it possible to get a recone of it? Cliffnotes, One coil on my ED e8a is screwed, one works. Recone possible? Most likely buying an assassin 8 now. -Ryan

Hey guys, new to the forum here. Starting a build for my single cab. What I have to work with (30-33" L, 10" W, 15-20" H) has limited me to a set of (2) 8's it seems, even though physically I have the volume for 10's or a 12. I have it dialed down to a few subs and I was curious what you guys think? This topic is beating a dead horse, I know. But I'm looking to throw 7-800 RMS on each 8. Looking for something that has some authority in the 32-36 hertz range. My music is 99% rap or decaf with some low bass. Some rock here and there but not enough to justify changing dimensions of box for it. I'm working with Bassahaulics on a box build. For subs I've dialed it down to thes…

Heres the dilemma, i was just driving home from my friends when i noticed a burning electrical smell from the rear of my car. When i got home i opened the trunk and proceeded to check my dustcap to see if it was hot but it was ice cold and the stink was coming from my port. The sub was playing undistorted still and is fairly new. Should i worry about this? Sub feels fine and my gains were set by ear. No noticable clipping. Any comments, advice, or otherwise would be wonderful... Thanks! Sub: RE SX 15 - 4 cuft box tuned to 34 Amp: MA HC2001 Source: Pioneer DEH-7800
