I can't get the dustcap to stay in place, what am I doing wrong? Rubberized glue didn't hold,CA didn't hold,5 min epoxy didn't hold.i ruffed the surface of dustcap w/emery cloth. Time to step back and punt! Also the first two weeks after the recone I had to keep volume down my amp would protect on me. Now I can full tilt w/no issues, confused on that also.

I'm looking for a sub to go with my amp its a da7232 old school. Last time I used it was on a nightshade 12 v2. The setup wasn't optimal so I'm not sure on its performance. The amp is dual mono 2 ohm. Suppose to put out around 1k per channel not bridgable obviously. It will be going in the back of a suburban behind the 3rd row. So I have a decent amount of space but not unlimited. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Does anybody have any experience with this subwoofer? I managed to pick one of these up on craigslist and couldn't find much information on it other than that it is SSA. It is VERY heavy and seems bigger and stiffer than my HDC3 18. I plan on building a new box for it since the one it came with seems small. I bought this because I wanted to put the HDC3 in a car application but most advised it would not fit with the space I had.

I recently bought a 2010 GMC Sierra Crew Cab My situation: Ive already installed an Alpine IVE-535HD DVD receiver, 2 sets of Kicker RS Components, a Kicker IX500.4 amp. I have a Sundown 1200 mono amp that has been installed also and will be building an enclosure and buying subs next weekend. My issue is I am torn on what config to go with... Option 1 - (2) Sundown SA-8's in a 1.5cf, front firing, side ported enclosure under the seat tuned to 30-32hz. Option 2 - (4) Infinity Reference 860w 8's in a front firing, front ported enclosure under the seat tuned to 32hz My main objective is to grab the lows into the mid 20's with authority. Has anyone had experience in a …

I recently got a 2015 Altima 4d, and would like to upgrade the factory speakers. I'm not so much concerned with changing the HU (has b/u camera and steering wheel controls), unless it is absolutely necessary. I'm also not concerned with adding a sub, atleast not yet, but is a possibility in the future. As far as speakers go, I'm looking at going to 6.5's and adding a pair of tweeters. It currently has 4 door speakers, a pair of 6x9's in the deck, and a pair of 3.5's in the dash. My thought is to ditch the 6x9's (or just unhook), replace the 3.5's in the dash with some tweets, and replace the front door speakers (possibly all 4 door speakers). I do plan on running the spea…

Hey all, My FI SSD 15 finally bit the dust with a fried voice coil. I tried to contact FI about possible warranty, but had no luck So here I am trying to decide on a new sub. My current amp is a Sundown SAE-1200d. I have heard that they are actually under rated, and push more like 1300-1500. With that being said, what are some recommendations you all would have subwoofer wise? I am looking for a 15'' btw I was thinking about a DC Audio level 3, but it seems like they only come in dual 4 ohm. Any help with this, is greatly appreciated ~Tyler

What's up everyone. I've never had an American made subwoofer before and I'm interested in these two. I was locked set on the ssa zcons. Because of the tons of great reviews people give ssa, everyone races about the icons. I have a pair of re sxxv2 and the rms is similar to them, so I'm looking to upgrade so I was looking at the xcon's. But then I figured I might as well pay the extra $90 and get a zcon lol. Then after researching, ready to go through a it it, I notice the aa mayhem. The mayhem is $10 cheaper and 250watts more. And it looks crazy beefy. So I was thinking what's the deal with that. I got a taramps 5k to go on either or. And I'm trying to get L…

  11. I noticed that FM signal (radio) songs play with a lot more bass, and I mean A LOT more. When I listen to the exact same song using my iphone, some songs sound dead. I can tell there is a huge difference. I understand some radio stations boost their signal or use EQ, but why is the difference so noticeable?

Ok, she currently has some piece of SH** amp i have no idea what it is. running 2 12 sony xplods in a sealed box... it sounds like trash. She listens to alternative rock sometimesRnB stuff with bass when she needs it. She drives a pontiac grand am. I'm thinking of either going with some sundown 10s or 12s. I don't know if i should have the box ported or sealed or if i should get one ten or 1 12? an im sure 600 to 1000watt mono block amp would be plenty. Just tryin to get her a decent setup away from those xplods on complete trash amp. Any advice on something like this that i'd be looking for?

Been searching and looking for a new build idea for this summer in my wagon and stumbled upon the dayon Um18-22 says it works well in 3cubes sealed and 4cubes ported tuned lowwwww which is what I prefer for both installs. Think this sound is promising for "Accurate Bass"? Something different.

  17. Hey All, Trying to figure out how I want to setup my daily driver and would like some input from some experts (as I am not 1). I have 2 12" XCON D1's and 2 Orion 2500d's. The Plan: Wire each XCON in parallel to provide a .5 ohm load The 2500d's are not strappable but they should be stable at .5 with my electrical So the thing is, I did some testing on 1 of my 2500d's and was getting approximately 2200 rms on stock electrical in my friends truck (which was probably only putting out around 12V or so). By wiring my subs down to .5 ohm's I feel that the amp will be able to supply at least 2500-3000k rms to each sub. Would this be way too much for each 12" XCON (I don…

So after finding out I burned up one of my zv4 leads (probably because of clipping), I decided to throw my mayhem back in. Voltage was dropping to 14.0 from 14.9 max, so I knew something was wrong. Mayhem was working fine when I took it out a year ago when I got the zv4. They were ordered with D2 coils. How did this happen? I cant imagine it was from clipping as well.

OK so here is the hopefully last thread on my truck. I am buying a prefab box. I know no one recommends a pre fab box but there is only one way to fit it under the rear seat in my 2014 F 150 super cab. Unless I decide to take more floor space for more air space its kind of a set design. Id rather not eat more floor space because the back does get used a little bit. Anyways http://www.soundoffaudio.com/2009-2014-ford-f-150-extended-cab/ http://www.supercrewsound.com/09F150ECUTSdual.html Are the two I am looking at. No matter what air space is .80 cube before sub. I was wondering if for the space, I could get a little better smaller subwoofers. Instead of ge…

So I have most of the system planned. Truck is a super cab 2014 F150. Subs will be two RE REX 10s Dual 4s. Each sub will get .72 cubic feet sealed. Box is going under the rear seat. Sub amp will be SAE-1000D Comp set amp will be Rockford Fosgate P300x2. I am not sure what comps to go with. Going to be a 6.5" set. Budget up to around 200 ish dollars for them. Top mount depth cant be more than 2 3/8th inch. Have been looking at Kappa 60.11cs, Alpine Type R, JL c2-600 is close enough with a spacer. I might need to spend a little less to get a smaller driver, because I cant space the speaker out from the door too much with out hitting the door panel, and I am not …
