I'm trying to decide on the most efficient route for my summer build..I tried to come up with different variables about one of the two but no luck... Three ethos or two sp4 on 7k watts 1.sp4 Higher quality 4"vc Larger enclosure 4th order friendly Can take a lot more than rms which man's room to upgrade amp(s) with no worries Ethos More cone area Lower price tag Doesn't require large enclosures

So I was getting ready and doing some research about my new truck before I bought speakers and I found an interesting fact........ I have a new 2014 F150 and it has rear speakers, door speakers and tweeters. Door speakers get the full channel, tweeters also get the full channel with a capacitor or resistor to cancel the low frequencies. There is no factory cross - over. I am not going to amp this set of speakers because I am concerened about my hearing listening to loud music all the time. Anyways so all I was going to do was replace the door speaker with a coax speaker and replace the tweeter with just a better one. Will I get too much high range with a coax speaker …

Got my SA-12 back in October and finally getting around to a box build. Fired up Torres. Single SA-12 on a SQ 750w. Look good to go? Or any thing I need to change? =Going in Volvo V50 wagon, sub/port firing towards hatch.

What's up all I have a Fi Q12 that needs to be recone. I read you can use a different brand recone kit as long as specs are right? Or Is it better to use a Fi recone kit made for the Q12 from Fi or does another companies recone kit work just as well? I've never reconed a sub before and as long as the same specs are used to recone the sub everything remainds the same (rms power handling enclosure sizes ect.)? Appreciate any feedback thanks

I've been out for a while, had kids and gotten old. I need some info comparison between the DC audio 8" sub and the American bass 8" sub and how does each compare the let's say the benchmark is the JL W7 8", thanks for the info.

What's up guys!! It's been a good while since I've been on here. I've been building my powerstroke and working so iv kinda moved away from audio but today I bought me a nice 2008 fusion daily driver and want to know, what's some new good stuff out there now? Want a pair of 12s. Nothing crazy. Only have around 2000 watts to push them with. What's every one think? Anyone have anything for sale?

I have a 2010 malibu with a 250A mechman, D2400 under the hood and 0g all round with a 4 cu box tuned to 35 hz. Hifonics BRE 1700.1, I would be using this amp for which ever sub i decide to get. Which subwoofer would be best for a daily driver? It would be a 15". My choices are as followed: Sundown Zv4 15, Psi Platform 3, X15, or a DC level 4? Im not making this to be a VS thread, i was just asking for some opinions on which would be best for a daily set up?

A 10" gcon in a 2.5 cuft ported box tuned to 33hz with 400 watts @ 4 ohms.

Alright so I'll give you guys some backround information. I have a 2008 Honda Fit Sport. 180 amp singer alt and xs d5100r under the hood, and 2 xs xp3000's in the hatch. 2 soundqubed 2200s strapped @ 2 ohms (each seeing 1 ohm) pushing 2 hdc315's in a 10 ish cu ft box tuned to 32hz. I don't k now how much port area there is, but it's a lot. These things get low. Sometimes I wish I tuned a little higher, but that's a whole other topic. I haven't played many test tones but on music I've been metered at 153.8 and as high as 149.9 @ 29hz. My mids and high keep up with the bass, but they're missing that "wow" factor. Hey everyone I signed up here awhile back, but have only been able to lurk here and there. Anyway I'm gonna pull the trigger soon and get a sub stage, but I'm not sure which sub/subs I want to buy. My new sub stage will pretty much be 2 12's in a ported box or maybe one 15 in a ported box depending on how much room I have or don't have.. I've looked through the 12'' subs in the store section from all the brands and a couple of 15's but leaning more towards 12's. My goal for the sub stage is pretty much output/loudness. I was contemplating on which i would rather have. I was wondering if i should go with two Sa12s or a single zv3 15. Currently i have a Fi Bl 15 being powered with a Hifonics BRE 1700.1. My box size is going to have to stay around 3.5 cubes because of my limited trunk space in my 2010 Malibu. So would you guys prefer 2 sa12s or the single 15? P.s. I lean more towards lows, would the Sa's get very low?

Hi, I had a question on whether I should have 2 FIBl 15s or one single bl15. I would be powering them with a Hifonics Bre1700. If I had a single bl It would get 1700rms. Would it be any louder with two bls but with 850rms each? The box is roughly 4 cubic feet. Any help is welcome.

Going in a 99 Yukon Denali...more of a musical setup. Ive only built one box prior to this one and wanna do this one right....any input would be appreciated! Max dimensions are 48" from back seat to back doors and 48" wide between wheel wells Window level is 20" Backseats are 22" I was shooting for something thats not too crazy high above my window line but I'm open for any and all enclosure designs here.

Hey I have 2 old style first generation audiobahn immortal 15s im looking to rebuild. Does anyone know of any specs that could help? Such as voice coil and spider size, who originally designed motor or what soft parts are compatible etc. I was told that a sundown nightshade drop-in would work but i would like advice and honest opinion from a knowledgeable subwoofer builder. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Do i need to pay attention to the fact they are 0.7 and 1.4 coils or can I rely on them being dual 1 or dual 2 when hooked up to an amp? box rise i dont think about as im not competing or burping just a daily setup...

Just wondering how the soundqubed HDS315's hold up. I'm thinkin about running 4 of them in my 96 Tahoe. The box I'm planning to use is 48x44x15, port is 13.5h x 13w x 20l for a 32.42 hz tuning at 14.61 sq in per cube of port final volume is 12.01 cubes. Haven't decide what amp or amps I want to use yet, any suggestions under $1000?

I pulled the box out of my hatch today to find that there's a hole in the surround. Not sure if it was ripped out or rubbed though from having stuff against the sub while playing. I was wondering if it could be repaired by me or would I have to send it in for repair, in which case it wouldn't be worth it since shipped and repair cost would be more than the $100 shipped I paid for the sub. Good excuse to move up to a 10" I guess...if I can't make the repair myself.

I have a 2g wired the output my car, don't want to get a new alternator for subs so everything is stock other than the wires and 200a monster fuse. Getting a soundqubed 1200.1 and need hell choosing either 1 sunfown 12 SA or soundqubed hds 2 in a custom box and maybe an extra battery. Need to know which ones better or what's best for $600 for subs, box, wires, batter. Which would shake up my car? I plan on powering them 1000w or I was going to get 2 but if one in the right box would do temporarily id want to save money since I'm only keeping the car for 4-5 months more. What do you think

Have about $400-$500 to spend soo.... Sundown X or Z v.3, Soundqubed HDC 3 or 4, OR JL 12 W6. can you guys tell me the difference between X and Z for sundown and HDC 3 and 4? does it make a difference for the more i pay? Difference between a 12 and 15? Also what would be a good amp to power any of those for the best price? I've came to the conclusion of getting some sundown X 15's or 18's since they're only $20 price difference OR some 12' JL W6's since it's on sale for $500 with the original JL box. i have a budget of about $400-500 just for the subs since i need an enclosure and an AMP that i still need to find... What's the cheapest amp(not some walmart $100 amp that says it powers 3k watts) but a decent one that can power those sundowns or JL's without a problem? Ok so I'm trying to answer the following questions What is it? What does it do? Does it benefit the subwoofer and/or sound? Should I get it in my enclosure? For the following terms: Flush Mount, Double Baffle & Kerft Port Can someone please clearly answer those questions for each term and explain them to me? I'm completely lost. Thanks!

I'm Currently doing a rebuild for 2015 and I'm looking into upgrading my front stage to a 3 Way component set and just wondering if anyone would have any recommendations around the $500-700 maybe a little more if its well worth it so far my 2 choices are the CDT Audio HD-642 and the Hertz HSK 163 Hi Energy Line. Picking up 2 d2 sp4 18s to put on my taramps 8000...with these having odd coils how much are we talkin the amp will put out on these things?
