First, let me just say that I don’t know much about car audio. 95% of people on here would put me to shame so forgive me if what I’m asking is impossible. But I do know a fair bit about audio in general since I do a little mixing music on the side. So here’s what I’ve been recently thinking about… I have a system, with ONE 12” Eclipse Titanium in a ported box tuned to about 30hz. My sub hits the lows real good up until around 60hz, but doesn’t pick up anything above that. what are the fi btl and the audioque hdc3 comparable to? Im thinkin about buying ethier two 15in btls or 2 15in hdc3s, right know i have 2 15in kicker L5s ran off a memphis pr1.1000.1 in a prefabed box i love the way it sounds but im looking for more bass, i have a 1991 cadillac deville, so hopefully i can fit either 2 15in btls of the hdc3, because the web site says the btls require a minimum of 3 cubes ported to each woofer but I AM A try for 5 cubes each, the amp i wanna get to run the woofers is the AQ3500d. But even if i wanted to get two 12s of the FIs or the Audioques would they be louder then my 2 15s i got now???????? thanx guys cleanrockone

Ok guys, my brother's b-day is coming up and he's heading out to college, and am wanting to put a setup in the car he's getting. What am wanting to know is which sub would produce good SQ and also get a little loud, and in that order. Am looking at either the 15' Q from Fi, or the 15' Level 4 from DC sound lab? Either will be ported on a AQ1200d. Help me out guys

i have a 04 pontiac grand am gt. i bought the system ive been looking at for almost 2yrs now, im hoping its as good as i have been dreaming it to be. i guess if i would of read more i would have picked something with sq, not all spl. but im ok with that. could anyone tell me if i need anything else before installing.... i got: 2 orion h2 15.4 subs, 2 orion hcca d5000 amps, 1 15 farad stinger capacitor, 220amp ho alternator, upgraded "big three" wiring. i was also looking at : stinger drycell battery 2150, and a lightning audio 50 farad capacitor-> will i also need these for power? and anything else to run effectiently? sorry i dont know anything about…

i was wonderin if i should get the diamond audio speakers or the type r's. any recommendations? i wont be usin a amp right away but ill get one like a month after i get the speakers. an i listen to rap.

i have recently been looking to get some components! i have an Fi Q 15" which has been in a couple of months now getting on really well with it no complaint! but my mid woofers are destroyed i have to have the sub just so i cant here them rattling lol! anyway had a quick browse round on a budget of about 150 (pound) Focal Access 165 A1 JL Audio Evolution TR650Csi Hertz Energy ESK 165.3 Thanks any input will be helpful

ok, im new here, so hi i have a small car that i have an old used rockford phosgate 12" sub set up to a really old amp, and im in need of an upgrade. im kind of on a budget. i have a 2000 watt power acoustik amp picked out (with a bass knob), and now im looking for subs. im not sure if i should go with a rockford punch (stage 3?) 15", 2 rockford punch (stage 2?) 12's, or get a fi ssd 15" (probably with the bp power and copper coil)...or if you have any other sugestions in the same price range, please leave them (gotta consider my options eh?) sorry if like my terminology is off im pretty new in the whole car audio thing, but im addicted to bass and cant stop haha thanks g…

When did this happen? It looks like the website was just updated recently. Any chance there are some of the 'old' model ixl 10.2.2 and 12.2.2 with the lower FS kicking around to be purchased? With my application sealed is a lot easier (yes the recommended ported sizes are small, but you still have to get a port in there). I can't do 2.5cubes so the 15.2.2 is out of the question.

I just purchased an IA audio 18 15" but last night i was looking on craigslist and i saw a 15" memphis mojo for sale $75. I was wondering if these subs were really that great and if anyone knew how much the retailed for. I looked on memphis's site but the find a dealer link wouldnt work.

Well I am pretty sure I have made up my mind and just wanted to know what you guys thouht of the SS RF-60C speakers. I have been reading decent reviews and found them for about 175$ shipped. Are they worth it? Hey, whats the biggest subs you guys think that will work good in my hatch? Its about 39" wide. Top of back seat headrest to the curve at the back, depth is about 18-19". Depends on how high you go from the floor. Floor to the back of the headrest is 16.5-17". I was thinking about doing two 18" Xcons with a sundown 3500. But I don't think I have the room. I would like to be as loud as possible and sound good. Thanks.

ok, I am going to be getting some equipment for christmas, as well as some money I bet to spend on it myself. I figured I should start my research to see what I should ask for. Im looking at getting a sundown sae1200D, audioque AQ1200D or maybe saving some money and getting an autotek or hifonics 15/1600 watt amp. looking at others, but whatever I get, I should at least end up with at least 1200 true watts. my main question is how many subs to look at before I really do my research to pick one. I dont want to spend any more than about 300 bucks on the sub/subs. Im looking at 3 10's or 12's sealed, 2 12's or 15's ported, or one badass 12 or 15 ported. so like 3 - IA 187 10…

OK, I was looking at the RE XXX's (newer version), and the Fi BL's. I listen to mostly metal but I do like everything else too. They're going into a Tahoe, so size isn't an issue. I'd like to do 2 12's. I'm looking to get as loud as possible but not sound like total azzz. Powering them would be 2 saz-1500d's or 2 saz-2000d's depending on sub selection. I'm not stuck to those two brands, any input in any direction would be great. Price also isn't much of an issue. Willing to spend as much as $2000 for the subs.

i am building a box for 2 a pair of level 4xl's and i was wondering would there be a big difference of i only did 12's instead of 15's?

so im shopping around for some tweeters to be ran by my SAX-100.4 and i came across these... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=272-110 i dont know much about different tweeters, but would these work for my front end? if so, would i need to take the cap. off that is already soldered on it, and just use the amp Xovers? ill be running them with these or if you know of any other cheap"er" tweaters that are a good choice feel free to chime in

well... ive decided its time for my new truck to get a sub or two. I want to get something thats relatively cheap and can produce more bass than my last sytem. I recently sold my 01 extreme blazer. I was running 2 15 inch l7s with a 1200 watt monoblock audiobahn amps. My new truck is an 04 extended cab 1/2 ton chevy. Im going to pull the back seat soon so i will have plenty of room for a box. I dont have money trees in the back yard so id like to keep it pretty low cost =) my ideal set up would be 2 12s i think. if anyone could turn me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. thank you, austin

ok whell first of all i got a 2003 honda accord and i cannot decide wat kind of sub i want or amp . yea big problem but yea i just want one sub and it has to be a 12' but allso be able to pick up the low notes real real good. originally i was going to go with a Fi Btl and i 2600 hifonics amp but i started looking at other subs/amps but yea i just wanted to kno what other people would suggest to get ? and i rarely use the trunk so i dont care how much space is used, allso i want atleast 2000 watts.... so pls help me out and give me you're ideas, and thank you

i read the sticky on this already, but can you use speaker wire instead? and how do you remove the push terminals and make the connection style of the pos and neg leads like the AQ or DD's?

built the box yesterday, didnt carpet the sides because I ran out of spray adhesive. I did all the work, played with the gain and xover on the amp for a while listening to a bunch of different music, and I think what happened was a combo of me going slightly deaf, the amp getting hot and starting to lose effieciency, maybe voltage dropping, and the sub not being broken in yet, because I thought it was pretty good but when I put the seat back up it didnt seem loud at all. so I basically went inside a little depressed that it wasnt an improvement over the old setup. met my girl when she got off work (its her car) and I told her that I wasnt satisfied and Id buy her another …
